CPPT coming up next month, who's going?

I plan on coming down here soon when they run one of their monthly guaranteed donkaments. Can someone give a break down of steaks and amount of tables usually running during this. Why aren't they on bravo?

They are not on bravo because they use a a cap competitors software. No limit will run perhaps as high as 5-10 but plo 5-5 has killed the bigger nl. There will be a 1-2 plot that sometimes runs deep and maybe an 8-16 or bigger lo8

What kind of PLO action is typical at BestBet? Heading over tomorrow for work and want to play but can't stand NLHE anymore. Anything 1/2 to 5/10 PLO would be great. I called the poker room but got someone on the phone who didn't really know what they were talking about.

5-5 PLO runs most evenings and often starts late afternoon. It's uncapped and there are a bunch of pros and regs that play very deep but there are a lot of short stack hit and run types as well

PLO has exploded at Creek Entertainment. Last night we had 2 5-5 PLO games running and almost opened a third. Games are great too hence people making the drive to Gretna.

Mega HH today gonna be slammed, hopefully some 5/5 5/10 nl or some form of PLO/PLO8 will go early on

Also, can anyone confirm buyins at NLHE 1/2 and 2/5? Is it 40/200 at 1/2 and 200/500 at 2/5. And, is there 1/2 and 2/5 PLO, PLO8 and/or BigO? Thanks!

I think it's:

2/2 NLHE = 40/200
2/5 NLHE = 100/500
5/5 NLHE = 300/1000
5/10 NLHE = 300/?

1/2 PLO/8 runs pretty regularly, buy-in from $100 to no-max.
5/5 PLO runs pretty regularly, not sure of min buy-in, but there's no-max.

BigO and 1/2 PLO(reg) don't run very often.

Pretty sure the 5-10 nl is 3k max and 5-10 plo is uncapped as well. Both should be running this weekend.

Welp, it's been real BestBet. I spent the last 7-8 months grinding hardcore inside you and building my roll at 2/5.

My review:
The action is great. Lots of tough pros/regs but plenty of fish and gamblers to make the games juicy. Huge room, obviously. Rarely have to wait more than like 5 minutes to get into a game. Floor staff is great. Dealers are cool. High hand promos are legit.

But there are a number of things that suck with this establishment:
- 100/500 min/max buy-in on 2/5 is just terrible. 200 should be the lowest minimum buy-in a room should even conceive of implementing. For the short-stackers, there is an option to play for lesser stakes if they're uncomfortable playing more than $100.
- The room closes at 4 am Sun-Thurs, just when the games are deepstacked and juiciest.
- No "no flop, no drop" policy is just offensive. Stealing the blinds and only winning $5 is infuriating.
- No player comps is even more offensive. Not even free non-alcoholic beverages.

I realize complaints #3 and 4 are due to the fact that there's no competition so the room has no incentive to cut players extra breaks, but whatever, I'm still allowed to dislike it.

Headed down for the last weekend in September, will play the $50k guarantee on the 26th...hope they get a great turnout.

A couple of hotels were mentioned for having poker rates- Courtyard or Holiday Inn Express. Any info on rates? Also are they specific to tournaments or also cash play?

Go to best bet and get a players card and you use that when you check in to the hotel. Only takes a minute to stop and get that first. I like the Hampton inn

I play here semi regularly and agree with you on all points, and I'm pretty sure that I played with you a few times (though no notable confrontations).

The 5-10 runs almost all the time here now. Did you get a chance to play it? What did you think of the play there vs. 2/5?

I didn't play any 5/10. I usually played the 5/5 whenever it ran, but I'm not rolled for 5/10. Plus, I liked that the 5/10 sucked up a lot of the best players and kept them out of the 2/5 games.
