I'm semi-regging the 2/5 games here (coming for 3/4 days 3 times a month). If you're a reg and want to swap notes, tips or just have someone to bounce ideas off of who plays in these games, then PM me.

Cliff's on me so you'll know who you're talking to:

1. Started with low stakes SNGs.
2. Moved over to cash and was beating 100NL FR on FTP before Black Friday.
3. Started playing live 2/5 in central and north Georgia (Newnan, Carrollton, Cartersville, Acworth, etc.) after Black Friday. Everyone was terrible, won big.
4. 2/5 NLHE really dried up here. There are a lot of high rake/low buy-in 1/2 games (not worth the time) and some higher stakes PLO in Atlanta (underrolled), but I can't find any regular 2/5 games.
5. Put some money on Merge....the games are tough and I'm too old, employed and married to put in the necessary work to beat them at a high enough level that it would be worthwhile.
6. Started semi-regging Jax BestBet recently. I've historically had a good winrate at cash and been the worst MTT player of all time (literally, the absolute worst) but recently that's sort of flipped. I think that's mostly variance though and 100BB cash is still my best game.

I'm in Charlotte, so I might get to Florida a couple times a year to play, and mostly it has been in Tampa. That was my first trip to Jax, but now that I've been there, the 6 hour drive is worth it vs. going to Cherokee or WV, IMO.

You might be the first person ever to say that bestbet is pretty cramped, Im there every night and it has the most the room between tables ive ever seen. Glad over all you liked it, havent heard anybody that doesnt like it here. Yeah not the best decision to go to the st. johns 340, the bestbet sunday 150 is the best mtt value around.

Yea, i was suprised he said it was cramped also. I am used to playing with backs of chairs touching sometimes.

A few of us went to Best Bet a couple times since the end of March and played mostly 2/5 NL and a little 2/2 NL (for my buddy who was running horrible at 2/5). We all thought it was fairly soft and did well. The one thing I noticed immediately was that a lot of the regulars who are probably still used to the old $100 max buy in still will put up $100 at a time, lose it, and repeat several times. That's where a lot of our profit came from.

We thought the food was pretty good, too.

The Jacksonville location recently stopped upping the BBJ and I heard that they are doing multiple other promotions now instead of adding to it (once it hits $100K). Anyone playing there recently know about any of this? I'm planning a trip in September during the events.

It's a huge room, so there should be plenty of cash games running.

I think I sat next to you today. I was to your left for a few hours and then you changed seats to get position on the guy with the GF and the Indian guy that was on a heater. I check raised your flop bet on an ace high board OOP. We both checked the turn, and then I check folded to your river bet. Showed an Ace and you showed the AK. We were talking about PLO a bit.

what is the highets games that they run consistently in jacksonville at bestbet? Is 5/10 or 10/20 as high as they go?

anyone know the rake for best bet...is it same for all tables and limits or do they vary...can someone explain how rake works and how this can affect if the game is beatable or not? thanks you

I'm pretty sure 5/10 is as high as you see consistently. But when events are running (like WPT) the limits are much higher.
