The $20-40 can be much tougher than the $15-30.

Part of the problem is that in the last couple years a few of the regs have evolved their games and even though they don't post on MSLH here at 2+2, they are every bit as good as some of the pro's that do. A couple of those guys, particularly a russian or two, used to be very abc types. Now they are very good. They are amoung several pro's who now will move back and forth between the $20-40 and $40-80 depending on which game is best.

One other factor is I think by moving the game to $20-40, some of the recreational regs have been priced out to some extent. It may be a situation where they were comfortable if they had a bad night and took a 2-3 rack hit, but hurts a bit to take the 4-5 rack hit they might take at the 4 chip game.

That said, the game can still be outstanding at times. Even players who understand the technical aspects of the game can tilt or be in a bad mood, or simply experience a decline in ability. And sometimes tourists come in and dump a wad of cash on the table. And heck, sometimes you just get lucky.

Personally, I have not played the game since August. Its too much work. I'm a recreational winning player, and sitting down and getting into a chess match isn't really that fun to me. Doesn't mean I'll never step foot in again. But at the moment, burning a few hundred at the $5 DD BJ tables downtown holds a lot more appeal than mid stakes limit holdem.

I'm staying at the Bellagio this week and I'm interested in low limit NL and sportsbetting. From what I've read it sounds like low limit NL games are good everywhere, but I read that Bally's has better sports betting odds and maybe better games. What do people think?

I see the Bellagio spreads 1-3 and 2-5 NL. How do they compare in terms of game quality? What are the buy in caps?

Softest 2-5 of the 4 big rooms due to the buyin being capped @ 500.

I wish they would kill the $1/3nl game. With such a short buy in, they should just start with $2/5nl as the entry level game.

They added 1/2 because Venetian was taking a lot of players from them before Aria.

Planning on going to Vegas week of April 14th, any good promotion for poker and how is the room in general. Anybody know if u get anything for having a Diamond card for Total Rewards? Like some places in AC give you $100 slot play and card upgrade.

And you felt the need to cross-post your unbelievably vague question in three threads?

BTW, none of the threads you posted in are for casinos with Total Rewards.

No ****, I know that, reason they match tier level like they do in Atlantic City for non total reward casino like Borgata, Golden Nugget, the Atlantic Club used to, and a few others.

Ok, you get any comps for playing poker, like $1 an hour or so.

Played 2/5 this weekend here.. Was tougher (not a tough game) than I thought it should be. There were like 5 people and me who knew what they were doing like 1 fish and then couple nits. Then on Saturday there were 2 really good tables, and the others didn't look great. 5/10 looked really soft though.

So do you get mlife points for playing in the poker room or is their comp system still completely separate from the rest of MGM's comp programs as it has been in years past.

Only ask, because it'd be nice if I could get some Mlife points and keep my account active without having to dabble in the pits. (Racked up some minor comps during a non poker / standard vegas trip earlier this year)

At Bellagio Cafe they serve a nice drink called the Bella Peach that has:
Absolut peach Vodka, Cassis de Bordeaux,
White Peach Purée, Fresh Lemon,
Lime and Cranberry Juices.

Would they serve this in poker room as one of the comped beverages?

Remember when B's entry level NLH game was 2/5 with $200 min/max. Those were some very good old days.

+1...why doesn't some room make their lowest game $2/5? They will standout and will definitely get action.

I was a little surprised back when B added it. If any room was to not have 1/2 or 1/3, I suppose B could get away with it.

I would think a lot of people would prefer to play 1/2 or 1/3 instead of 2/5. 1/2 and 1/3 are the most popular games in Vegas by far.

I love the idea of having 2/5 as the smallest game, but I doubt most players in the rooms would agree with me.

how do you use the comp that you earn? It's not the comps that I see on my card when logging in.

In Bravo I sometimes see a wait list for 20-40 stud. However, when I see the game going it's always 30-60. Does stud ever go at the 20-40 limit?

This is a really good step for the Bellagio. They took out 3 tables (2 in the no limit section and one in the limit area) as well as the middle podium. It spaces out the room quite a bit, and looks like it's going to be to be a lot more comfortable.

I know they are recently under new management. Nice to see they are moving forward and listening to the players instead of just talking about changes and not following through.

Good on you, Bellagio.

+1. The cramped nature of the room was my biggest complaint and why I've never ventured back there. Nice to see they're actually listening to their customers now.
