Rumor has it that starting next week it will be $2/hr comps at Bellagio...you can get a buffet a day now! Or 1 every other day is you aren't living there

The fact that Bellagio keeps the buyin capped at 100bb for 2/5 and 150bb for 5/10 is the most important reason why their games at those limits have the most action compared to other rooms on the Strip imo.

I think they don't need to change a thing at all... but train the dealers to stop giving players attitude or in some cases be overly-friendly and try to take focus away from the game itself.

I wish they would go back to the days when $2/5nl was the lowest game offered.

I have no idea how up-to-date this list is, but it has phone numbers to verify. http://www.allvegaspoker.com/poker_rates.php

It would be nice if the tables were an extra foot apart in all directions. On the bright side, with Bellagio's physical table size such as it is, playing 9-handed is easy on the elbow room.

And one last thing... I'd like to see Bellagio's poker room join the modern world of mobile phones and support the Bravo Poker Live system as well as integrate an SMS text-to-your-mobile-phone paging system associated with your player's card. It's difficult for guests to feel comfortable moving about the casino when they're #15 on the wait list with no idea of how many no-shows are ahead of them. It would add reliability when starting new tables, as well as a method for tracking down "those" players who have been absent for 75 minutes while their chips lock up an empty chair.

I do have a question... the tables have a betting line, but I'm not certain that it's strictly used as one. Anyone know if they let someone take back a bet if it didn't cross the line?

None of the MGM properties support Bravo Poker Live App. I wish Bellagio, Aria (though they do twitter updates), MGM Grand, Mirage, and Mandalay Bay all join their info to the app.

Anyone know the exact date when Bellagio switches over to $1/3, $300 max, and $2/hr?

I thought that was part of the switch? Why can anyone confirm/deny the plan for $2/hr comps?

Why are you hoping they don't raise the comps?

Do the comps just go on mlife or do ask for paper comps after playing? For some reason I enjoy 1/3 better, but can't really explain why.

More comps = more nits

comps are accumulated on your mlife card. to redeem them you have to find a floorman in the back to print out however much you want

That might be true, but with Aria, Venetian and Wynn giving 2 or 3 dollar comps already, would it really have that much of an impact at the Bellagio? I also wonder how many nits would actually pick the places with lower comps because they are afraid of going into places with higher comps, and running into too many other nits. I see this type of reasoning all the time when people talk about places with higher rake. I've seen several people make comments like "I'm going to go to casinos with a $5 rake because the sharks tend to avoid it and I'll have the fish all to myself." The same type of reasoning might be a reason why Treasure Island is struggling, even though they are trying to pay players to be there, and they offer $2 an hour comps.

But maybe it is true that several more nits would show up to the Bellagio. If that's the case, I wonder if it would be better if the Bellagio stopped giving away any comps, raised the rake to $6 at least, and started to offer a BBJ.

One reason I am hoping they do raise the comps is it will encourage other casinos to raise the comps. It was only recently that the Venetian and the Wynn were only offering $1 an hour. I've even seen South Point raise the comps to $2 an hour for a month.

The only reason I want them to raise the comps is that I play there anyway and I would prefer to get $2/hr over $1/hr since I like using the comps for their buffet. I get twice as many buffets that way!

Who would want twice as much? Plus I agree that the new standard should be $2/hr. If more rooms do it, it will pressure most, if not all, the rooms to start giving $2/hr.

With the number of hours I put in, double comps would make a decent difference in my food budget when friends visit from out of town.

Bellagio generally has a more tourist-friendly and chatty atmosphere because of the fact that $1/hr comps and how far the parking garage is from the poker room keeps some of the local grinders away.. by grinders I mean either the old nitty types or young headphone-wearing guys who don't socialize. Of course if you play high enough eg. 5/10 you are going to get pretty much a bunch of professional regs anyway regardless and tbh I doubt 5/10 and above guys give a sh*t about comps(I know I don't). However you look across the room at Aria and Venetian, all you see = serious people with stern look on their faces playing 2 hands an hour while spending time on their iphones/ipads/whatever and gladly clocking up their $2/hr comps.

I'm not saying the game is better or worse as a result(you can make your own conclusions but it's not necessarily true that Bellagio games are better/softer.. for eg. can you really make more $$$ playing Bellagio 2/5 compared to Aria when you can buy in deeper at Aria... same goes for 5/10 where Aria you can buy in deeper), however at current structure Bellagio caters to a slightly-different crowd and that's what we need in Vegas... we don't need a bunch of casinos all doing the exact same things. It's not necessarily about making the game softer or tougher due to higher comps, but the atmosphere and differentiation of the room compared to Aria and Venetian. It's much better for everybody if rooms do something different from each other as opposed to being all the same in buyin structures, comps, rake, space, tournaments offered, etc etc etc.

One case in point is looking at how different rooms on the Strip are running their tournament series. Venetian pretty much is going for midstakes tournament players with their Deepstack buyins. Caesars is targeting lower stakes these days, while Bellagio's upcoming Festa al Lago starts at $1,080 buyin. Do we want all these rooms to go for the same crowd and offer the standard $550 buyin? NO. It's better that everyone does something different from one another... and same with their cash game comps and the crowd that they are focusing on IMO. Bellagio is an upscale casino with luxury everything, it would be downgrading itself if it tried to cater for people aiming to live off its comps.

Played $1/3nl at Bellagio this past night. Floor is still calling it $1/2nl when calling player names and giggling about it and a floor confirmed that thy will be going to $2/hr comps but just doesn't know the date yet.

He seemed pretty confident that it is happening and claims that the higher ups told him it is coming, just a question of when...

The new Bellagio poker room manager told us that starting Friday, October 5, you'll be able to call ahead to get your name on the list for the small stakes games. Nice. 702-693-7291

I think with aria comps and the promo comps at win, $2hr will become the standard.

Finally! Welcome to the year 2012 Bellagio. This has been a big deal breaker for me with Bellagio and playing there between 6pm and midnight.

My play there will increase significantly going forward.
