Here's the current buy-in and rake/time charge information.

1-3: $100-$300, 10% rake to $5
2-5: $200-$500, 5% rake to $5
5-5: $400-$1,000, 5% rake to $5
5-10: $800-$2,500, $7 time charge/half hour

5-10 was previously $400-$1,500.
Why are they taking only 5% rake to $5 for the 2/5 - 5/5 games versus 1/3 where its 10% to $5? I would assume they would just take 10% for all those games. I assume this makes it more advantageous to play 2/5 and 5/5 as opposed to 1/3.

In general, larger games are almost always raked at a lower percentage than smaller games. It doesn't make that much difference though, because any significant pot is still going to be raked at the max, as bigger games get more aggressive.

I'm sure they're trying to draw the deeper stack 2-5 players who usually play at Aria and Encore.

Also, the Bellagio has restarted its tournaments and has gotten quite a few players. I was in the Bellagio on Tuesday and nearly every table (outside the high stakes areas) was being used mid-day.

Interestingly enough, the drop in the 2-5 got every so slightly better. Previously the dollars were taken when the pot reached 10/30/50/70/100. Now that it's 5% to $5 the dollars are taken at 20/40/60/80/100.

Not exactly an earth shattering change, but when was the last time anyone made any changes to the rake that were better for the customer?

Old Bellagio 5-10 seemed softer than average due to the low $1500 cap. Most of the donators bought in closer to the $400 min than the max.

The changes may make the 10-20 run less often, and make the 5-10 considerably tougher. I don't like it.

Over a year ago, I was told by a dealer that one key reason for the $1,500 cap on the 5-10 was to keep deepstack 10-20 players out of the game.

This feels like it could be a compromise where some 5/T players wanted to raise the cap and some didn't, so 5/5 was created as a compromise to create a home for the players who wanted a game bigger than 2/5 but not as big as 5/T with a $2500 cap.

Why can’t you just have a regular 5/10 game and then a 5/10 deep game? Considering 10/20 hasn't been running this could be plausible. I imagine the deep game would often become 5/10/20 anyway.

I'm going to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks and I'd like a room reserved at the Bellagio at the poker rate. I'd like to have it all sorted prior to check in. In the past I've done it when I was there and it was a pain in the ass.

I did do this on my last trip LV, but I forgot how I did it. I made a couple of calls to the poker room but ended up not getting to a human. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Email poker@bellagioresort.com with the dates you are hoping to come out. They will reply with rates (rates are same Sunday to Thursday then higher Friday/Saturday). You book thru them by replying to email.

You need to play 6 hours/day to get the rate - just use mgm card at the table. I don’t think they’ll hit you with room rack rates if you don’t get exactly 6 hrs/day.

The past couple times I checked the poker rates were on par with (or worse than) what I was getting as a gold tier rate online.

Of course my ratings have gone downhill since then so poker rate might feel better now who knows.

I think rates are $149 plus tax and resort, then $199 plus tax and resort friday and Saturday. I have no status/tier so those weren’t bad for me for mid strip.

Played the 5/10 at Bellagio before they upped the max buy-in, made a short video about it for my vlog. Want to go again later in the year, would be good to play deeper!

Thanks, droopy. That is exactly what I was looking for. The website had a different email address, which I tried a couple of times and got no reply.

Sent email a couple of days ago. No response. Any other ideas? Should I just keep waiting?

Try calling today (weekday), 702-693-7290 is number on website, bravo has ending in 7291. I’ve booked years ago by calling and talking to manager who can set it up.

My last time was 2019 staying there on poker room rate. Some things (Covid, recent hack) have happened since then but their website says poker room rates available.

Thanks. I tried that number before, but I just gave it another shot and it worked.

Apparently the poker rate is gone, they will just give you a discount of 25% of whatever the rate is. Next weekend is pretty crazy. Especially Saturday night Oct 21. Their rooms that night are over $1000. I don't know what the **** is going on in LV that night, but hotels everywhere are insane (e.g. Excalibur is $850/night). Anyone have any idea what the big event is?

TwitchCon Las Vegas is this weekend (October 20th - 22nd), which could be a reason for the potential increase in the number of people booking hotels in LV this weekend.

Additionally, this weekend is also a PBR event, and the When We Were Young festival. Having all three events in one weekend is what is driving up the room rates.

Thanks. I asked a bunch of people when I was there and I got a different answer every time.

The weird thing was Saturday night specifically. Thursday and Friday night were high, but not crazy. Saturday was the most absurd I've very seen. To put it in perspective, I just looked at rates for Superbowl Sat and Sunday night coming up in February and the average rate is still less than it was this past Saturday night. Granted, the SB is still 4 months away but that still seems very weird.

Last time I was in Vegas, I got a comped room offer for Park MGM and needed to pay $200/night or so for Bellagio. So, I stayed at Park MGM and took the free Air Tram (about 10 min each way) when I wanted to play at Bellagio...https://gamboool.com/aria-express-tr...s-and-schedule

Quick note about the 5/5 NL at Bellagio. They are capping the rake at $3 through the end of 2023.

Really it's a very close walk as well, likely generally easier just to walk it than bothering to walk to the tram and then wait for it, as the tram is very far from the poker room anyway.
