How does it slow things down?

I'm pretty sure most poker rooms in the country have allowed call-ins for many years. Usually you can tell which are not there yet because they're notated differently on the board. I think the last time I went to Bellagio there was a symbol of a phone next to the names.

I was there about 930 or 10 ish mid week and the 1/3 game had over 20 people on the waitlist. Not sure if they were really that busy or just chose to allocate tables to the higher limits. Idk. Just my thoughts.
Sounds like a bunch were call-ins that hadn’t checked in yet. Usually they will start another table if the list gets too busy. Unless it’s the WSOP, then you will likely see some super long waiting lists.

It speeds things up if you’re one of the call-ins. Every room in Vegas takes call-ins. Resorts World takes call-ins and lets you sign in using Poker Atlas, and you can check in using that app when you get there. A small number of other rooms take calls and let players check in using the Bravo app. Most rooms, especially the big ones don’t take advantage of an app though. But again they do take calls.

It’s so convenient to be able to get yourself on the list before you arrive. You should try calling a room in the future; usually you get an hour to check in. Otherwise they remove your name from the list.

I can definitely see the appeal to calling in. I might try it next time I’m in Vegas. Thanks.

I think most rooms actually get rid of call-ins during WSOP.

I know Bellagio took call-ins in 2019 WSOP - I remember list being like 100+ but also that it went faster than you might think - like 1.5 - 2 hours to be called since so many of call-ins never showed up (prolly from calling multiple rooms an getting on multiple lists) and from lives giving up.

Wynn was the only one I recently remember not having call-ins during the WSOP.

Aria definitely. I think Orleans, too.

2021 WSOP Bellagio took call-ins only for SOME games. If I recall, 40/80 LHE and higher (or lower I can't recall), they did not take call-ins as management of the lists became virtually uncontrollable.

FYP

Aria took call-ins last Fall during WSOP. It may have even been 4 hours to show up, two for sure. I called them 3 days in a row at 10AM when they started to answer their phones to get on the 5/5 Rock PLO list. It's possible that they stopped answering their phone later in the day or when the lists were longer .. all you can do is try.

Resorts World uses Poker Atlas, so that's what I did for them when I changed venues in the PM.

Wynn definitely was not taking calls since they were packed with both cash and tournament Players on site.

I only played Rio, Aria and RW (one Venetian tournament) on my trip and got right into games so I didn't need any of the other rooms. GL

PS .. No real word on how Ballys/Paris will handle cash games. I know that 'all of Vegas' is reaching out and offering Dealers packages to come and help out during the Summer.

The room has added 3 tables on the left side for the WSOP.

Crampy time.

No, there won't be extra tables in the sports book this year.

Any reason for no tables in the sportsbook this year? Staffing issues or something else?

Just came back from six days there. Playing 40/80, it can take over half an hour to fill a seat, or longer on one of the days, notwithstanding a wait list of 40+. I think there are staffing limitations. Like all service industries, it's a new world. For now.

I played $2-$5 today at Bellagio. I arrived quite early, though, like 8:30 and got right in. Later Jungleman showed up. He eyeballed our table considered playing, saw I was there, saw my monster stack, realized he wanted to part of this, went to Legends room to play.

I think it's just wonderful that all employers have a built in excuse right now for limited/bad service. I'm not suggesting that it's a false claim, it's just nice to have in your pocket whenever there's an issue. GL

Anyone know if they still have a poker rate? And what it is?

Don't see anything on bravo for one

The poker rate used to be 159/199, but those days are gone. Now they just give you like a 25% discount off the then current rack rate. I got better rates with my MGM Pearl status, though it was close.

There is a poker host you can call or email to get the rates if you want to double check. Not sure if they'll want to rate you first if you're a new player there. When I first did it, they wanted to make sure you were putting in 6 hours a day in the poker room. Now that the discount is so meh, they might not bother with that, not sure.
