The Bellagio does not cater to the low limit player and never will.

Bellagio's flagship games are the 40/80 limit(and 20/40), and 10/20NL(and 5/10)... it will never and should never start catering for the 1/3 & 2/5NL grind-for-hourly-comps calling-in crowd. If it does it will lose its higher limit action and therefore render itself to becoming a poor man's Venetian, with much less space.

I've always wondered why they don't just move the tables on the left side of the room sliiiightly to the right so there's more space on the left for the lower stakes games, since there's plenty more of space on the right side of the room...

How soft is the 2/5 nl game in general, as compared to aria and Venetian?

The 2/5 grinder pool is about the same skillwise at all 3 casinos. All 3 attract about the same amount of recreational players(Venetian has conventions, Aria gets lots of tourists, etc). But Bellagio has more 5/10's going, especially on the weekends, and that would make the 2/5 'softer' for obvious reasons. But keep in mind at Bellagio 2/5 the stacks are shallower so you aren't going to get into as many big pots.

Played the 1/3 game few weeks ago and it was 100-300 buy in. I was told this was done to keep the integrity of the 2/5 game which is done to keep the integrity of the 5/10 game with their short buy in maxes

What do you want us to say, each of those games has a different structure so of course you're going to get different types of play. You say nothing about yourself, if you are a 25/50 killa then any 5/10 anywhere anytime is soft, if you are a lower stakes taking a shot then you'd be stupid to play Vegas 5/10 compared to Commerce or any game in Florida. It means nothing if someone tells you the game is soft or tough; to any tough player the game is soft, to any bad player the game is tough.

And if you're actually in Vegas, then why don't you just take a look at the games yourself...

The 20-40 took the place of the famous 30-60 that ran for years and was their staple game. During the week they had 8 out of ten grinders the same people every day, day and night shifts. But since we are talking about limit the game was beatable, with a little patience. A few of the so called grinders would get stuck, through suck outs, because in my opinion they chased and bluffed with very deep stacks. Also if you are looking for limit this is about the only game in town at that limit. Good luck better have a bankroll and never buy in short or you will not have a chance in this game.

The 20-40 took the place of the 15-30. The 40-80 took the 30-60 place. Roy Cooke who was a reg at 30-60 now plays the 40-80. Mason used to say that the 30-60 game was one of the toughest limit games in the world. The 15-30 game was very beatable. I did it as a grinder for 8 years at the Bellagio. I quit playing regularly a few years ago. Since then Bellagio went to 20-40. I have played in that game a few times. There are a few of the 15-30 regulars still there. Some good some good for the game. The last time I was there the game was disrupted by a tourist claiming that there were teams playing. I was in the game. The regulars in the game claimed that some players were in a check down mode against each other and they weren't doing anything wrong. The tourist didn't see it that way. Neither did I. There is a young girl and her boyfriend that play in the game and sit next to each other. Sometimes there is an Asian dealer that gets in the game and checks it down with the same young girl after they get it heads up. I have been told but not verified that there are 3 fellows that play on the same bankroll in the game. Is it cheating? You decide. I don't like it and I bet a lot of tourists don't like it either. I will play there next week and I hope that things like this are not still going on there.

These check down situations are a mixed bag. I've played in games where I would not say anything because the people involved were obvious friends and/or family and were so bad at the game that there checking things down among themselves had no impact on the game. At Bellagio it was a different situation altogether. One couple doing it were undoubtly professional players. The off duty dealer doing it made the game look very suspicious to tourists even though she was actually good for the game. The tourist in this situation sat down started laughing, straddling everything and was just spewing money. Then the check down thing happened. He got upset, called the floor and demanded his money back. Then quit the game. I think it is just a bad thing to go on in a brick and mortar poker establishment.
