"Less fun", "tighter", "integrity of the game", "ratholling", etc won't work. You have to convince them that the casino will lose money if they do not change the rule.
I appreciate you advice. Thank you.

i would be SHOCKED if there was even more than 1 or 2 people in the entire 2/3/5 NL player pool that goes in there with the intention of ratholing from table to table. never mind that all these players are just recreational gamblers, but logistically speaking it would be a nightmare for these players to try it on a consistent basis, having to be put on table change lists and/or being put back up on the main board. nobody is going in there thinking about this kind of stuff

I don't think they let you rathole if you have less than the table max anyway. If someone was seen doing this, it's probably because the floor wasn't paying attention.

I suppose this assumption of mine could be circumvented easily by someone who drops down to 1/2/2 for an orbit or two to get their stack back to $200 before returning...

The 1/2/2 buy-in at Bay 101 is $40 min-$200 max. You can win $1000, get a table change and you are only allowed to buy-in for $40-$200 at your new table. The only time you have the option to bring in for more than the max buy-in is if you are coming from a broken table. I play the 1/2/2 at Bay 101 almost everyday.

Right that's what I'm saying, if the management doesn't let you pocket money at 2/3/5 if you have, say $450 to return to your shortstacked $200, you could drop to 1/2/2, get to $200 legally, then pop back to 2/3/5 in a few orbits.

1. You have to go back on the list for the 5. Depending on the day/time, this might be a bad option (ie, long list).

2. If you are called for the 5 for the same table you left and it has been less than 30 mins (last time I checked, that was the amount of time), you have to buy in for what you left with, ie, you don't get to pocket your winnings.

For the Bay 101 open, I'll be playing all of the No-Limit tournaments except for the 'all-in or fold' tournament. If anyone wants to sell me any tickets at a discount, let me know.

question for you matt: The buyin for the main event is listed as 1000+40+40. what does the "40+40" mean? if part of it is for tips, is it customary for those who cash to tip extra?
thanks.

Yes, the $40 goes to dealers and staff and any additional tips are definitely not expected but are appreciated.

Your hand is immaterial in this equation.
