Neither platinum nor diamond cards have ever let you avoid the $13 fee for a CET comp room in AC.

Platinum = free parking and not much else.

What's the conversion rate for Reward Credits? Some googling seems to suggest 100 credits = $1, but I can't find any info that is sourced from Harrah's.

Yes, each reward credit is a penny.

They now charge a $20 resort fee on top of the $13. Ridiculous

A free room costs $33 now?

$20 resort fee + $5 other fee + (tax?)
(The resort fee is for "basic" wifi up to two devices, unlimited local calling, and a $5 parking voucher)

I'll never stay at CET properties in AC for raising the price up that much. Borgata it is.

such a crappy thing to do. sneak in extra charges as a separate fee. so scummy.

i'm pretty sure only $5 is actually taken by the state (i'm saying this based on every other hotel in AC having exactly $5 listed as a tourism tax on the bill)

Reason 57 why Borgata is better than everyone else.

I posted about this in the general AC thread. At least they do make it clear when you try to book it that the fee is there, but I'll likely never stay there again. I know they aren't doing well and need to make every dollar they can, but you don't do that by nickel and diming your best customers. You do things to bring them in instead.

Not doing well is an understatement. They sent me a letter because I'm a Diamond member(until next month) saying not to be concerned about their "reshuffling of assets" AKA filing for chapter 13. The CET ship is sinking. Moves like this will only drive their loyal customer base away. I've abandoned them about a year ago. So tired of their BS. Borgata all the way. They may be good if you're in Vegas or visit their frequently but thats about it. Not a perk for me.

This is a deathblow for caesars properties in AC. No one in their right mind should tolerate this when you have casinos in the marina charging $5 and $10 per night for a comped room.

Absolutely absurd that world class casinos like Borgata give away rooms like candy and dumps like Bally's and Caesars think they can get away with fleecing their customers for "free" rooms.

good riddance CET

Have you actually stayed there and confirmed this? If it's true, if must have just happened in the last few weeks, and I have not heard this mentioned anywhere else.

Go on their website and book a room. You'll see the new fees.

Its a fact not a 2+2 rumor. Im sure they didn't think billboards along the expressway advertising how CET is once again screwing their customers was a good idea. Then again they're doing it in the 1st place so billboards wouldn't shock me come to think of it.

Does anybody know if the $20 resort fee applies to Diamond members (I know it does not in Vegas CET properties) or if it applies if you book the room using the poker room's 4-hour promotion?

The $5 is the AC convention center tax.
$20 fees from CET properties are not surprising. Showboat did the same thing but it was a bit less. If WWW is doing this would it surprise anyone if the result was the same as Showboat?

I can't imagine it would, but even if it did, I would let your host take care of that.
