I just received a press release about this from CET. I think most of the info is out there already, but there's some info on number of TVs, packages, phone charging stations, food at the tables, etc...

*** RELEASE BELOW
Atlantic City, NJ (February 21, 2014) —Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City and The World Series of Poker (WSOP) are changing the face of poker and entertainment in Atlantic City as Bally’s Atlantic City announced today the expansion of amenities in its Wild Wild West casino. The overhaul will include a state-of-the-art WSOP branded Poker Room, a new entertainment stage for bands and live-performances, referred to as the Party Pit, and the reopening of the casino’s Pacific Avenue entrance.

“The Wild Wild West provides locals and visitors alike with a truly unique experience of branded entertainment, gaming, and unparalleled excitement, so with these latest additions the property can now lay claim to a top-notch poker room and a game-changing party pit,” Kevin Ortzman, Senior Vice President and General Manager for Bally’s, Caesars, and Showboat Atlantic City. “We believe this development will forever evolve the face of poker in Atlantic City and expand our ability to provide guests with the highest quality of gaming and live entertainment opportunities available.”

The newly branded WSOP Poker Room at Bally’s will offer 42 live-game tables, as well as several tournament tables. With a focus on the customer and player experience, the new WSOP Poker Room will have a “luxury” feel with free WiFi for all players, free phone charging stations and 20+ HDTV’s positioned throughout the room with all major local and national sport packages (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL). By partnering with the World Series of Poker (WSOP), the largest, richest and most prestigious gaming event in the world, Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City further distinguishes itself as a desired gaming destination.

In addition to the WSOP Poker Room’s gaming use, the renovation at Bally’s and the Wild Wild West will also include a Party Pit. The Party Pit’s newly created stage and floor is positioned directly across from the Mountain Bar, home of the 24/7 happy hour. The venue will feature several of the area’s widely recognized cover bands, such as Bobby Lynch Band, Johnny Drama, Slamm, Dirty Whiskey Duo, Big Bang Baby, Rachel Allyn Duo, and more.

The Wild Wild West will also highlight new food & beverage offerings delivered tableside to WSOP players courtesy of staple restaurant, Wild About Wings. Menu items include: Pork Sliders, Chicken Sandwiches, Burgers, Fries, and of course their signature Buffalo Wings.

This renovation follows Bally’s $5.6 million transformation of its main casino floor located at Boardwalk and Park Place and also marks the first major renovation for the property since the complete room overhaul to their Dennis Tower in 2008, for an approximate cost of $60 million.

From everything we now know, there are two keys for me... 1) How easy is it to get comped rooms? and 2) How close is the party pit?

If there are drunken revelers stumbling in all the time and getting two nights a week including weekends isn't impossible, I would actually consider moving my play from the Borgata, which I never thought I'd say.

LOL. Can picture it now, wings in one hand, tablet in the other, cards getting sticky (especially the Aces) and earphones covered by hoodies - a poker player's dream.

And they won't want to get the tablet dirty and sticky, so you KNOW it'll be the wings hand handling the chips and cards.

With $1.2 million, the property has torn out walls and storage space and replaced it with a “Party Pit” for live entertainment and dancing. Guests following a walkway past the entertainment area are led to the casino’s new World Series of Poker-branded poker rooms, roughly doubling the casino’s poker tables.

The move is also a first for the city, as Bally’s looks to physically incorporate the recognizable WSOP.com brand offered through the casino’s Internet gambling permit into the brick-and-mortar property. Forty-two tables are being installed in a standard poker room and a separate high-limit room, where the WSOP branding is prominently displayed among other memorabilia. The rooms, which will open Thursday, will offer Wi-Fi and charging devices that allow players to engage in online and live play simultaneously.

“Let’s not dance around the continued decline of the industry,” Ortzman said. “We had to do something to stand apart from other properties, to differentiate ourselves. We also can’t be narrow-minded and think that our competition is just Atlantic City, when it’s broader than that.”

As Bally’s, which is owned by Caesars Entertainment Corp., works to stand out from other properties, it will reopen the Pacific Avenue entrance on Monday. The entrance located at a faux boulder formation has been closed since late 2011, as management sought to concentrate guests in more active parts of the property. Now, the entrance will be used as a selling point for poker players, giving them direct access to the poker rooms without having to navigate through the casino floor.

“Poker players like convenience. They don’t want to have to walk very far,” said Freddie Niceta, vice president of table games for Caesars’ regional properties.

The renovations will replace the property’s current poker room on the sixth floor of the property. The space can expand to 80 tables for tournament play. Bally’s will host the Tournament of Champions circuit event in May and has plans for other events, Ortzman said.

I would be interested in the new room except for the $2 drop per hand for the BBJ. Haven't played at CET properties since they started this. Sorry to see it's still in place.

Just got the news on the promotions for March. The high hand promotion is being extended and will now run 10am-2am daily Sunday through Friday. There will be no high hand promotion on Saturday, an improvement since it used to be Friday without the promotion.

The freeroll tourney will return and continue to be offered on the second Wednesday of the following month. 50 minimum hours to qualify. Survivor structure where the 50 remaining players each get $600 like was done in February.

Rakeback will continue to be offered along the same lines as before. Check the WSOP Bally's Bravo listing for this and other promotional details.

It does turn out that even with the extra drop, the casino is returning the money to the players in the form of the promotions being offered. Yea, it sucks if you don't take advantage of them, but overall they are paying out as much as they are taking in. Hopefully you can get lucky and get a share of some of the promotions, and definitely utilize the rakeback offer, as it does pay off in the end.

And it will only get better. I have a couple more things in the works but I am waiting on DGE approval so I can not put them into effect yet. Also our tournament players are now earning comps. It isn't a great amount since the buy-ins are small but at least they are earning something. More than any other company is giving them.

ACDan,

Lots of guarantee prize pools.

If there is an overlay, does the casino pay the difference or does the money come from the 3 property promotion fund?

I like the schedule, Dan.

You should add a $30 turbo at 2AM so that I can play it after spending the night at the Toga Bar!
