Speaking of guarantees ... I just keep thinking about THIS!

I'm a cash game player who occasionally plays a daily tournament and I appreciate the efforts of those who have called to our attention the issue of WWW frequently canceling guaranteed tournaments and who continue to keep us up to date. It could save me from making a trip only to end up with aggravation.

Went to AC for the first time this weekend.

Girls at the Wild West casino were smoking hot. Got me in a little trouble with my wife lol...

Played the 2-4-6 limit game and made $160 in about 5 hours.

I've never played a game like this..

I play limit poker regularly at my home casino. This was the softest game ever (until I went to the Tropicana where people literally showed me their hands every hand I played), there was a woman from Maryland who dropped $330 in about 4 hours (which I thought was impossible).

Anyway, I liked the room layout, it was clean and I never had a problem with drink service (at least not any more than I had in the rest of AC). Overall my second favourite poker room in AC.

So question. Regular at the Borgata who plays 3 days a week. I keep hearing about the poker room here. Is it worth the trip? Good and active action even on weekdays? Or if the Borgata not worth leaving?

Can someone give me a breakdown of how the poker room works. Such as how is the action on weekdays. How hard is it to get free rooms? What is the comp rate like? When you order food to the table if you comp it is it considered 1/1 like the Borgata or is it 2 for 1?

Trying to get some information before I even attempt to leave the friendly surroundings of the Borgata which I never have to pay for food from all my comps earned and rooms are free and such,

Check Bravo for the specifics on Comps. Right now, they are paying $1.50/hour for 1/2 and $2/hour for 2/5. Plus bonus comps of $1/hour for weekday play, plus rakeback for total hours played.

Rooms are available same day for four hours play depending on availability. So far, getting rooms Mon-Wed has not been an issue, and some Sundays and Thursdays. The earlier you book in the day, the better. With Memorial Day weekend here, I'm sure this Sun-Mon will be an issue. Rooms are comped, with only the $13 in taxes owed. Plus, you are NOT limited to only one night a week, you can get consecutive weekdays based on availability and play.

There is a poker room food menu available, and it is 1 for 1 comps. If playing in the high limit room, that is 2/5 or 10/20 OE, food is comped. See the floor for details.

Weekday action is pretty good, but table selection will be your friend, as always. Action is picking up since colleges have let out and with summer approaching. This coming week should be good with the internet promotion, and the first week of June, the World Poker Tavern League will be sponsored, always bringing good games.

There is also a high hand promotion, daily tournaments scheduled, a Royal Flush promotion, and others coming next month. It will be hard to find another room in AC right now giving the same amount of promotions, so hopefully you find it well. Of course, there are some growing pains as this room is still new and you can read some of the gripes, but hopefully things will take off this summer and continue to grow what can be a major competitor to the Borgata on the boardwalk. Feel free to PM me if you need more details.

How many played the WSOP free roll tonight at 6?

How many actually knew there was a freeroll at 6?

It was a freeroll for online play from what I was told. I would assume those who qualified online would have been advised of that.

WSOP.com sent out an email. I'm assuming it went to everyone with an account. I got it on the 16th.

Is it easier to get access to free rooms if you are a high limit player, or is this the same for everyone?

Same - based on hours not stakes.

Perhaps certain casinos should just drop that word from their advertising altogether in order to alleviate any confusion.
i don't think anyone is out of line complaining about guarantees being cancelled. the definition of the law might be that they guarantee the prize pool if the tourney goes.. but the intent and sentiment they are advertising is that this tournament will run with this much in the prize pool in attempt to draw players in. otherwise casinos could cancel the tourney if they have even one player short of making the tourney profitable for them.

cet knows what they're implying using the word guarantee. they know what the players think it means. if it meant only the definition you are stating, why would they even bother having it or advertising it?

I was regged for that tourney. First they said the tourney would go with no guarantee, but everyone who had been registered got refunds and they cancelled it altogether.

As suspected. Thanks for confirming.

It's reassuring to know I can function in society on a Saturday night, reasonably well, even with a buzz . . .

Not "several" weekends ago since I was there 2 weekends ago and it was supposed to go (but didn't).

Anyway, back to Showboat it is!
