Caesars is not an option since they officially don't have a poker room. The available rooms have been solely at Harrah's, Showboat, and Ballys. And you DO need to play at the property which is booking it. I played 7 hours at Bally's last week, wanted to extend my stay at Harrah's, and was told I needed 4 hours at Harrah's to do this. So I put in the time and got the room.

Consecutive nights are also an option, but once again, solely based on availability. I find it easier to extend a stay or book at a rate and then get it switched over, as not having a room poses a difficulty due to travel distance. The earlier in the week you want, the better the chance in general. Sunday's and Thursday's have been a bit more difficult, especially if trying to book after 6pm, as occupancy levels are going up with summer approaching.

thank you for this.

have you (or anyone) successfully book a room at a cost and then had them change rate to 0 for playing the 4 hours?

Yes, but mine involved cancelling an existing reservation and taking up the comp room reservation. I had booked at Showboat, but had an extension at Harrah's, so I just cancelled the Showboat reservation in advance.

Worked fairly well and was easy, so I'll be doing it again in the future.

If you have a reservation they wont change it for you. I emailed in advance and was told this.

will ballys hold daily stt steps tournaments to LV? Right now in vegas almost every casino is running these.. I thought this was to be the WSOP poker room.

i think about this sometimes. caesars properties are all over the country now (even more so since they took and expanded the shoresshoe brand) and they almost always put in a poker room. they have the wsop brand which is the pinacle the poker world. why wouldn't they have satellites everywhere! they could include hotel stays (which they could actually make profit of since they own the hotels).

wouldn't even cost them more than a normal tourney. just give away a seat for for every 10,000 in the pool.

i don't play tournies. but i may take a shot at a wsop qualifier.

my point is, they should play up the wsop brand as much as possible. and there are much more effective ways to harness that excitement beyond putting it in the room's name.

i have asked this many times..in vegas almost every casino is running these but dont they understand most of the people that go for the wsop are not from vegas.. i fully agree the wsop poker rooms dont act like a wsop poker room..with bally www now open and trying to compete with borgata wsop stt steps ect would bring a lot of business

i think this bolsters the argument. the wsop got it's biggest boost by far ever when online sites started running satellites. most of the players started seats that way. i myself... a cash player... put 600 on full tilt explicitly for taking a shot at some wsop ladders. if these are that successful online... why not put in your live room? at least give it a chance. hell they're willing to experiment with outrageous guarantees and end up losing tens of thousands (if not hundreds). take a shot with some wsop qualifiers. don't even give a guarantee. 200+fee to enter. for ever 50 registrants someone gets a spot. odd money goes to bubble in cash.

they can also make a clause that you have to wear their logos and no one elses. like i said before they could make hotel stay part of prize and they own the hotels so more profit (or lower cost for buy-in depending on how they want to do it).

just seems stupid not take advantage of the wsop brand in the most obvious possible... with actual tournaments.

i agree here is a new room trying to compete with borgata and they are not even offering what the wsop brand should have. That is tournaments to vegas STT/Steps/$100+? step 1 to Step 2 $1100+vig to vegas ect.
But what we have is the same old management in a different room. They just dont seem to get it, These tounaments would get players to the room.
i just looked at bravo ballys 12 games borgata 46 the numbers dont lie.

You don't think they should be held to a higher standard? It's not like they are opening a brand new poker room for the first time as a company with a new poker room manager like Revel. They are combining two rooms that have been around for many years. This should be a seamless opening that blows you away. I'm sorry, but that's the way I feel. If they were new to the game, with brand new dealers, new floor and a new casino, sure, give them time, but these are all poker veterans we're talking about trying to make a big splash with a big poker room. Epic Fail
reading through this tread I couldn't agree more. They didn't even put a sign outside of the building announcing the new room. They have this whole fake desert set up on Atlantic Ave. The doors enter right into the brand new poker room. Why no sign?

I've been to the room 3 or 4 times in the past 2 months and every time - every time - the floor has to sign me into the game because the machine at the table is not working. They make a big deal about rake back and comp rate but then you can't even be sure if you are getting credit for all your hours. How's that growing a player base? AC definetly needs a big grand poker room on the boardwalk; a room that can compete with Borg. How hard is it to screw this up guys? Come on already...

One thing I do like is the new red chips they made for the room.

what new chips?
The chips don't have a new design but the red chips are freshly made in the new WILD WILD WEST room. They are very clean and have consistant weight. Basically the red chips look as new as the green - you will notice this is not the case with red in most rooms.

You can tell because they are chips that still have edges on them, as opposed to being rounded off with dried black gunk stains. Enjoy them while they last!

Unrelated to the operations of the facilities, game selection, tourneys and amount of players, I will say WWW blows Borgata out of the water for the quality of their chips! I can't stand the fake-stickiness of the Borg chips. Either be legit sticky or don't.

Bad beat just hit. Steel wheel vs a straight flush to the 7. They both flopped it. Happened two minutes ago

Gonna try this room out for the first time tonight. Playing the 7pm tourney and hoping for the best with the quality of the place.

Can't find a blind schedule on the interwebs for this. Any thoughts? I assume it's pretty standard.

Stopped by Bally's Saturday night to play the 7:00. Walked in the room right when they were announcing the guarantee was cancelled. Can someone from Caesar's please explain the meaning of a "guarantee"?

Unless it's for some extraordinary circumstance (such as extreme weather) guarantees should never be cancelled.

I didn't stick around to hear the excuse. I just went over to the Showboat instead.

Not to jump on the bandwagon, but this room seems like a pretty epic fail . . .

second time it's been reported here that a "guarantee" has been cancelled.

this room is in the right spot near the boardwalk though... they could get a solid footing over the summer. hopefully they stop this with the guarantees.

you didn't really hurt them by going to showboat though. gotta leave the caesars properties for that. they're all managed together.

I could have sworn that Dan was very emphatic in his defense that guarantees are never cancelled unless there is some severe weather back when it was snowing by the foot in the winter (about 4 weeks ago lol). Sad story

No tournaments go unless they have 10 signed up. I am sure there would have been more players as there are usually about 20 that register around the 3rd or 4th level. That's what happens when you have a 2hr window to enter. Cut the registration to the first level and get everyone seated when they should be. That way we won't be playing 5 handed for an hour and a half either. That is my only major complaint though. I like the room and play there several days a week.
