not very good turnout & i guarantee you that 75% of the players are the same ones who played last week, i.e., this room is f'ed

Really depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a tournament where you sit for 9-10 hours and not cash if you go out 10th.... Then it's for you. The structure is to long for the buy in.

Discussing at the table with people there last night. Lady at table from 11am Friday tourn said she busted 16th at 8pm. She stated the final table wasn't set until about 1030/11pm..

Other guy stated 7pm tourn lasted until 5am.

Today we were are 200/400 25 ante and there were multiple stacks above 100k+.

Yeah playing till 5am is insane. I'll settle for overlays online tomorrow on UP

If you want to play and not worry about being short stacked by the 6th level it is great. I like the structure. As I stated before the only two things I would change are adding a dinner break and paying out a little deeper.

Played here again today, few interesting hands. Waitresses were better today.

I got inmensely berated when I rivered someone in a fairly standard hand imo, that's always fun.

I said he shouldn't tap the tank and he was on my left so take advantage of me, 'whatever man you suck'.

Good one.

Saw an almost $1k pot too, biggest I've ever seen at 1-2, KK<AA called a $315 shove on river on like J5357r. Very nearly folded too, don't think I can fold in that spot.

Really? Not only did it take ~15 mins to get basic drink orders, but the food service was disastrous. The room also needs more menus - even the waitresses couldn't find any.

Minor gripe: Cage staff were very slow. Hopefully will improve with practice. I was given the common "oh, you did well today," to which I explained that you can actually buy chips at the table, so bringing a lot of chips to the cage does not mean a player did well. Lady did not seem to understand. Management should explain this to cage staff.

The physical room was very nice though. I'd like to see it do well but a few tweaks in customer service need to be made.

Anyone playing online here? Staying at Ballys, but dont want to be stuck up in the room. How is the setup? Any location verification issues? How is the privacy?

Haha I didn't say 'good' but they were a lot better than last time.

I actually got my drink orders this time, which was good.

Didn't order food but dude at my table was waiting a loooooong time for his.

This was my hand! I had the AA. I could not believe how that played out. That was quite a rush and I'm happy to be on the winning end.

Were you sitting on my left?

It's really hilarious. No matter what they do people will complain.

Before the room opened people were complaining because they assumed the higher buy-in tourneys would have the same "crap structures" as the "$70 shovefests". Then after it turns out they have a nice slow structure that allows for play well into the tourney, and all of a sudden it's "these tourneys last toooooooo loooooooong!!!!"

These tourneys are great, particularly with the overlay. I love the structure, and yes, I say that as someone who bubbled once at 5:30AM and had one other deep run lasting til 3:00AM.

Word is, the guarantee for the Saturday 11AMs is no more. Decision on the 7PMs is yet to come, but Dan is fighting for them, and I heard that if the guarantee remains, the payout structure will probably be modified to pay a minimum of 14 people (which is how many would have been paid if the guarantee had been met).

The floor was more available this week during the tourneys. But that might have been because there was one troublesome table so they knew they had to stick around.

As mentioned earlier, waitress service was somewhat improved in daytime hours, but when it got late, it all broke down again. Someone at one of my tables said he asked for a drink and was told by the waitress "no". LOL

I agree - and I played it once and bubbled the final table yesterday. I think the blinds could go up a little faster in the early stages and a little slower later, though. It's a shame when you get down to two tables and everything is push/fold.

By the way, if you read this Dan, that 7pm 25K GTD is what brought me in to check out the room and I am planning on giving it a shot and splitting my cash play up (I've been a Borgata reg for a few years). So even if you guys are losing some money on it in the short-term, it's building your player pool.

I'm assuming I was at your table last night because I was telling that story from when it had happened earlier. I was in the 6-seat at table 48 with a black and red Phillies hat on and busted 11th. If you were there, please tell me the annoying woman who was wasting all that time didn't cash!

Also, props to Dan for how he handled that. We had a short stack who was wasting 15-30 seconds before she even looked at her cards every time, then wasting another 20-30. She'd look at the clock, wait, look at her cards, look at the clock, wait again and then muck.

Once Dan came over he put a stop to it immediately and basically put her on a 10 second permanent clock unless she was facing a somewhat legitimate decision.

Yeah I was in the 8 seat. You violently penetrated me with your T9o vs my AQs, lol.

If it makes you feel any better, not as badly as I got penetrated by 55 jamming on me with 88 after an 834 flop earlier for a big pot. Sorry but I can't remember - did you get moved to the other table to balance us or did you bust? I got 5 hours of sleep last night and grinded 10 hours today so I'm fried mentally.

If you made the final table I'm curious if that annoying angry blonde bubbled or somehow backed her way into money.

Nope I was on the left of the dude that had the KK actually, in the 10 seat.

He was talking through the hand under his breath on the river "he's hardly 3 bet at all, he's shaking, he has either AA, KK or QQ, can I ever fold here?"

I was only there for about 2 hours, large bearded British guy in a Bears hoodie/Big Lebowski t-shirt.

The young Asian kid directly on your right was calling every time I raised (he did not fold pre-flop) and hitting every flop, I just couldn't get anything going and had to head back up to New York anyway so picked up down about $50.

The only hand I think I showed down was I called down a turn and river bet with 77 on 2393K (dude did not bet the 2 tone 9 high flop so figured he didn't have a 9 very often).

No I busted shortly after the break shoving A3s into AJ and KK. 4 spade board and no one held a spade. I went out like 17th or 18th.

Oh yeah, I remember you -- The Dude Abides!

The funny thing is that I hadn't three-bet because I had only been at the table for like 30 minutes.

The kid in the 2 seat was wild to watch. It didn't seem like he could miss a flop. He played until about 11:30 and his stack never really took a serious hit.

When I sat down, I saw the stack sizes of the 9 and 2 seats. I purposefully sat in position (2 seats were open). I am happy with that decision.

A couple quick thoughts after playing there this weekend -

- I liked the 11AM tournament. I think the structure is fine- allows for deeper play, isn't that what we all want?
- Waitress told me I can't get a bottled beer (even a Miller Lite) without a diamond card. LAME. I could always get bottles in the Caesar's room. I'd even pay for my own bottles if there was a closer bar.
- I like the location. I did not realize how much foot traffic there would be. I don't care that it is in the open - hopefully will encourage more people to play.

Best of luck to Dan and the staff at the new room. I'm excited to see this grow.

Yep and when I got there the 8 and 10 were open and the 9 had like $700 in front of him. I sat in the 10. Sadly you took all his chips about 5 hands after I sat down!

The kid in the 2 seat when I first sat down I thought was playing really interesting poker, taking a lot of pots away on the turn/river. Turns out he was just smashing the flop every hand and wasn't doing much.

I raised some of the more passive folks who limped with QJs, he flatted SB, BB (you?) folded.

Flop was KQ10r, I cbet, he called, turn blank check check, river blank he bets like half pot and I think about it and call. He had K2o.

Played in an absolutely ridiculous hand at a different table, could not believe my eyes when the hands were tabled.

3 passive limpers I raise to $13 QJss from button, called by MP and cutoff.

Flop is K83 with one spade, checked to me I cbet like $25, both call.

Turn is 9c putting second club out there, checks around. River is 10c oh hai backdoored straight.

Both check to me, I look at the stacks. Cutoff has $50 or so left only, MP has about $200, I cover by a lot.

I bet $75 trying to look bluffy, MP thinks for ages and calls, cutoff (after checking the river) snap calls.

I say straight thinking it's the nuts, MP mucks what he says was AK but I don't believe that because I saw he was better than that and the cutoff opens 45cc for backdoored flush which he'd called the flop with backdoor draws only and then checked it to me when it got there on the river!
