Played here over the last 4 days, real nice room, like how it's spaced out. But one thing this room needs. 3rd man walking rule. Tables r often left 4 people at a time and played like this for a while. One day I sat down and one guy just got up and was gone for 4 hours.

Played the $10K last night and it's not bad. 20 minute levels so it moved much quicker. Bubble burst at 2:30. No more antes so I know a lot of people will not like that.

Mini TR: We're 12 handed (10 get paid) and I have about 10BB and ship it when it's folded to me on the button and run into AJs and I'm left with 12K chips with a 16K BB. Immediately after that 2 ppl on the other table get eliminated so I manage to squeak into the money.

We combine to the final table and by the time we redraw for seats it's time for the break and they color up the 1K chips. I come back from break and see I lost both my chip races so I have only 10K with a 20K BB. Awesome spot to be in. Luckily I drew a late position seat so I can wait a hand or two to try to have some kind of equity when I get it in.

A hand or two later I find AK, shove and hold and I'm up to 40K. Very next hand I get 77 and turn a set after my opponent flops his A and I'm up to 90K. Next hand after that I get AK again, shove and take the blinds and I'm up to 120K, almost back where I started before my crippling shove from earlier.

Now I'm in the BB with A8 and I feel like hes trying to induce a shove so I decide to check when SB limps. Flop comes A67 and SB donks for 60K. It's nearly impossible to lay down an A in this spot but I don't think villain is making a move on me so after tanking I finally lay it down and he tells me he had AJ and I believe him. Next hand I have trash in SB and fold to someone else's shove.

A hand or two after that, short(er than me) stack shoves and I pick up KK and reshove my 75K. Monster stack calls from BB and I'm up against A2 and A9 and in great shape to get my stack up from 10K an orbit earlier to 205K. Flop is 345. D'oh! A on the turn and I'm looking for a deuce on the river for the chop. It bricks and I'm out in 9th. It was a fun ride though.

KK vs. A-rag holds ~8% of the time. Next time fold pre-flop IMO.

You were looking for a 4 outter deuce to chop instead of a two outter K to win; obv that was your mistake. Dream big

It would be a 3 outer 2. One guy has a wheel. K doesn't help hero.

But it was suited so I couldn't lay it down.

That's a good five of a kind starting hand.

How are cash games on weekends? Does 2/5 run? How are the 1/2 games?

Yeah, just needed a little bit more of it. *sigh*

They ended up chopping shortly after I busted so that one hand probably cost me $700-$800 I was at a 1/2 table though, so I don't know the details of the chop.

Please consider putting the antes back into the 10k - otherwise it takes away a significant skill component and makes a number of players (including myself) refuse to play those.
Does not have to be that long of a structure as obviously with a 7pm start, probably neither dealers or players would want to be there till 6am. However, something like this (http://cdn.parxcasino.com/pdf/poker/...050_custom.pdf) with 20 minute levels would work pretty well.

Structure is fine w/o antes. We were done last Friday at 2am.

I also agree with bringing back the antes. Makes for more action. Structure overall was good. Throw in an ante and its great.

a tourney without antes is not a very good tourney & most smart players will stay away

If the smart players are staying away, then that's the tourney I want to enter.

Gooooooood! I love "smart players" that stay away from short field 10K tournaments. lol

that is actually a pretty good point

the problem is that the field attracted to this tourney either makes me want to quit poker or go play online

Summer is coming and there will be a few good poker dealers available.

Call Harrah's, Tunica , MS to bring a few of the good ones to AC.

It is a shame that 1300 people are losing their jobs on or before June 2nd.

Another gambling mecca being disassembled. Take heed AC.

Way to go Dan and team!! Looks like some of the promotions have been reinstated for April. High Hand back to $500...with no qualifier, freeroll is back!!, and some improvements to rakeback after the recent "terrible" reductions. Thanks for trying to put things back on track. See Bravo for complete details.

This room is unbelievable. On Tuesday i asked a floor person to check my hours for rakeback.
I was told 73 1/2. Might as well play enough hours to hit the next level of rakeback right?
I do that and more over the next 3 days. As i'm leaving yesterday i asked the floor to check my hours again.
48 1/2 is what i'm told. WTF?! I lost 25 hours? I explain whats going on and the response i receive is I've seen this happen but you still have a few days to make that time up before the end of the month."
Not let me see if there is anything i can do or lets see what happened. Add to all this the 7pm 4k on Wed that i played and had to tell the floor when the levels were up because the Heat-Pacers game was more important than their job. My table in that was 4 handed for 5 full levels while new and reentry players were being sent to start new tables. Never been to GN but that's going to change for sure.
