Atlantic Club Hotel Casino (Atlantic City, NJ) Atlantic Club Hotel Casino (Atlantic City, NJ)

03-10-2013 , 06:56 AM
Poker is officially back at the Atlantic club( formally ballys grand, Hilton) in my opinion the most underrated property in atlantic city...lots of speculation on this poker room with the affiliation with poker stars I'm definitely exited to play there!!!

Room has a ton of things going for them....one is free parking the casino is a local/non high roller friendly casino usually offering $5 bj $5 craps roulette and $10 pai gow and $10 mini baccarat...food is cheap nice little newsstand by street exit and very good dining options(really havent ate there since it changed from Hilton) it's right on boardwalk and is pretty much isolated from other casinos on the boardwalk....

Some other positives with this room/casino is easy access...from ac expressway u just take exit 2 and your right there the hotel is great rooms are all basically new and as far as I know very easy to get free slot play as well as comped rooms.....(I get them free sun-thur just from my baccarat and video poker play..

In my opinion this room will be a success for many reasons not even to mention the name poker stars.....with all that said this room will be top notch because the guy running the room has a love for poker and I'm sure has the determination of running the best room out in ac.....from a player standpoint I'm sure that's what we want as players a fair room with consistently!!!

I would say the name but not sure it's allowed on here but he was one of the best poker room managers in ac based on his knowledge and how he always talked to me when I played at the tropicana...I was a young player At 21 before poker exploded and Everybofy was in thier 60s and basically anywhere I played other supervisors really never knew how to treat or talk to players like this guy....

The last 2 days they have been hosting the ATLARGE series of events (atlantic city recreational gambling event?) maybe the e stands for something else but is pretty closely affiliated with the FARGO (Foxwoods annual recreational gambling outing) and the events bring in good action....

The last 2 days they had various pink chip mixed games going and a no limit game going....

I'm just very exited to be able to play poker at my favorite all time ac casino and wish the staff all the best luck with this new endeavor and hopefully becoming a major factor in east coast poker...

As a final note this place has the absolute BEST casino chips in the world there like the ceramic kind that are just awesome to shuffle and everything else....can't wait till this room gets rolling!!!!!!!

Im pretty sure that with cards being in the air this thread is ok to start.......best of luck!!!

Again not exactly sure the time/real opening of the card room but as of this weekend there are cash games rolling and the vast majority are pink chip mixed games

I didn't know poker exsisted at Atlantic Club (before PS aquired* the property). I'm pretty sure after PS secures a permint license, the games will become more juicy. When I went there, I couldn't find it.

Can anyone verify this? There is no mention of poker on their website and I couldn't find anything using a google search either.

To register for ATLARGE 2013 click here! Sorry. registration is now closed

ATLARGE 2013 will be held March 7-10, 2013 at The Atlantic Club in Atlantic City.

ATLARGE will begin on Thursday, March 7 with the annual SMOKER DINNER at the Atlantic City Bar & Grill, and conclude on Sunday, March 10 with our third tournament of the weekend:

****Friday, March 8, 11am:********TOC-Style (Stud, Omaha8, Hold'em)******(view structure)

****Saturday, March 9, 10am:****No-Limit Hold'em*********************************(view structure)

****Sunday, March 10, 11am:*******Pot-lImit Omaha **************************************(view structure)

(NOTE: TOC-Style is a limit*tournament.)

The buy-in for each event will be $100+20, which can be paid to the Atlantic Club the morning of each event, or prepaid at the Atlantic Club beginning on Friday.

All events are NO REBUY events. (This does NOT mean that TOM GOODWIN is not invited...he is. It means that he, and everyone else, will have to find a way to win these tournaments with only the original buy-in chips!)

There will also be a $25 ATLARGE registration fee to cover the overhead costs. The ATLARGE rates for rooms at the Atlantic Club will be $75.00 (plus tax) on Friday and Saturday, and $55.00 (plus tax) on other nights.

What is "ATLARGE"?

ATLARGE is an annual gathering in Atlantic City of poker players who originally "met" and/or still participate on the Internet newsgroup rec.gambling.poker (rgp). We get together in different poker friendly locations throughout the US during the year to have fun and PLAY POKER. Our biggest annual meeting is called BARGE and it is held in Las Vegas in August. ATLARGE is the Atlantic City version, held in March of every year.

ATLARGE stands for the ATLantic city Annual Rec.Gambling Excursion. Historically, attendance at ATLARGE is second only to BARGE. Last year, over 150 r00lerz from all over the planet brought the good times to Atlantic City for four days of fun and p0cker. ATLARGE 2013 will be held at the fabulous Atlantic Club, in Atlantic City, NJ.

How Can You Participate in ATLARGE?

EVERYONE IS WELCOME! But because we all originally met over the Internet, the only rule for participation in any of our events is that you must register over the Internet. Since you're reading this, you've already come to the right place. If you fill out the registration information below, you're in! Then, all you have to do is pay for the registration fee, and show up and have fun.

Unofficial ATLARGE Events

The ATLARGE banquet will be held at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at the Atlantic Club. No smoking will be allowed at the banquet.

The SMOKER DINNER will be held at the Atlantic City Bar & Grill. This fabulous dinner will take place on Thursday night, March 7 at 8:00pm. The SMOKER dinneris now SPONSORED, exclusive of all alcohol. *Everyone will be responsible for their own alcohol, but the dinner itself is paid by our generous sponsor. Smoking is ALLOWED, so a special "up-wind" end of the table is reserved for non-smokers. Please consider attending this wonderful event. The food is very good, the cigars are excellent, and the company is the best! To attend, all you have to do is show up at the restaurant. If you need a ride, there will be several cars heading from the Atlantic Club to the restaurant about 7:30 on Thursday. We gather near the HIGH SIDE PODIUM at the Atlantic Club about 7:00pm so if you want to attend and need a ride you can find it there. Otherwise, you'll find us at The Atlantic City Bar & Grill by 8:00pm. Everyone is invited.

*

Ring Games

The Atlantic Club will spread cash games at all limits, including an ARG favorite, the $7.50-$15.00 "pink chip" holdem game! Baby PL is also available, if there is sufficient interest.

Hospitality Suite

The Atlantic Club will be providing our group with a r00ling HOSPITALITY SUITE. A great place to relax and meet other r00lerz and enjoy an adult beverage or two!!

Transportation

Unfortunately, for those planning to fly, ATLANTIC CITY is not terribly easy to reach. There is an airport just nine miles from Atlantic City, but regularly scheduled flights there are usually BRUTALLY EXPENSIVE. Once at the Atlantic City airport, cabs are readily available. The PHILADELPHIA airport is 50 miles from Atlantic City, with regular train service for only $8. Pick up the SEPTA R1 train directly in front of the Philadelphia airport terminals, and take the train to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia (three stops after leaving the airport). Change trains at 30th Street for NJ Transit for Atlantic City. NJ Transit will drop you off at the Atlantic City train station 9 blocks off the boardwalk. Your NJ Transit ticket includes no-wait bus service to all casinos when you exit the train. Schedules for these trains are located at:

Airport to 30th Street — http://www.septa.com/schedule.cgi?route=r1&day=1.

30th Street to A.C. — http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/rail/current/r0090.pdf.

You are well advised to check the train schedules in advance, lest you be destined to repeat ADB Jester's overnight stay in 30th Street station at ATLARGE III, missing the Smoker.

Lodging

The Atlantic Club has set aside a block of rooms for us at the rates of $75.00 (plus tax) on Friday and Saturday, and $55.00 (plus tax) on other nights.

The Atlantic Club has set aside rooms for ATLARGE registrants beyond the rooms they normally make available to poker players, to insure that we all have access to these reduced rate rooms. You MUST be registered for ATLARGE to be eligible. Once you register here for ATLARGE, room reservation information will be sent to you. ***IF YOU BOOK A ROOM AS AN "ATLARGE" MEMBER AND DO NOT REGISTER FOR ATLARGE, YOUR RESERVATION WILL BE *CANCELED* WITHOUT NOTICE***

Please note that rooms are NOT unlimited. So, if you are a regular poker player at the Atlantic Club and are already eligible for their poker rate, please make your reservation as you normally would, WITHOUT mentioning ATLARGE. This will help save our designated rooms for others.

*

Mailing List

If you aren't already signed up for it, we recommend you join the ATLARGE mailing list by clicking here. In addition to the rec.gambling.poker newsgroup, lots of us trade insults on this list. Oh, and we also keep informed about ATLARGE type stuff here too. Late registration details will also be announced there.

This was a one weekend "special event".
At this moment, the Poker Room is NOT open to the public.

They have some plans to potentially open the room to the Public in May, but nothing further that I am aware of or can report at this time.

This past weekend, they hosted a Private Tourney and spread some ring games to anyone that wanted to play while the tourney was running. This was a Special Event, and there is no Poker Room open to the Public at this Hotel/Casino yet, but that will most likely be changing. The person I spoke to indicated there may be some plans to open a Poker Room here in May......but no details at the moment.

very interesting. wonder if they were comping the ring games

I don't know sounds to me like if they wanted to open the poker room tmrw as a temp room they could do it.....I would agree this isn't the new actual Atlantic club poker room but if they wanted to have tables open if there is demand they could if they wanted too....

Say the core group of 20/40 players wanted to move the game to Atlantic club next week It would be a safe bet that they would be spreading the 20/40 game for them....I could be wrong but doubt i am regarding that situation

Once we hear that there's regular poker of any sort going on, someone can start a new thread.
