What is the cheapest hotel or is Borgata fairly cheap (like 30-100 a night) if I plan on spending the entire time playing poker in Borgata. Also do they offer comp rates or anything if I play 2/5+ for 10+hours a day for a week?

Borgata is the easiest hotel to get comp rooms in AC. The Taj also is pretty generous. You'll have to play at least 10 hours and then speak to poker room management about room offers. The actual hotel offers from marketing won't catch up to you for about a month after play.

Also, all CET properties offer poker rates that are fairly cheap on weekdays. I believe its about $29 now that summer is over and only require 5 hours of play and are booked on the same day. Getting room offers with CET is a little trickier but is doable after accumulating tier points. Room offers are also starting to open up for comps now that summer is over.

Was there twice for bachelor parties. I recommend it. It is connected to a package store where you buy your 6 packs, and then the main strip club is BYOB. They do not serve alcohol, which is why they operate fully nude. You can drink in there though. Had a good time.

I saw posted on another thread that the 10/20 OE game had moved from Harrah's to Taj. Is this true, and if so, why?? I haven't been in A.C. in a while, so am out of touch a bit. But I always liked that game, and Harrah's.

Just wondering.

Thanks.

i assume this is the same group that also plays just stud that moved from harrahs to taj.

taj made a deal with them to give them rake back out of the promotional fund portion of the bad beat jackpot.... which stud players do not contribute too... i'm boycotting taj's room for this very reason.

Any other recommendations/things to check out for a trip there would be appreciated, too. Thanks!
I am not sure if it was odd or even room number but ask for a room with a view that is not facing Taj Mahal. I stayed in 41th floor with an ocean view and you wont regret it. Only downside is that there are no mini fridge or coffee maker.

While this would seem to be a logical explanation it's not correct. The OE players were getting pretty much the same promotional funds deal from CET: rakeback, high hand promos, etc.

There were a number of reasons for the players wanting to move, including CET's cutbacks on what it is giving poker players, but reason #1 was the perception that the Harrah's dealers were giving poor service to the game. The key players wanted to move the game to Borgata but were turned away by Borg (Borg offered to spread the game only Mon-Wed because they didn't want to cannabilize the 10/20 O8 game that runs Thur-Sun), so the game moved to Taj.

Fairly mind boggling that they didnt move the game to Revel while it was still alive. Revel was a step away from offering fellatio to anyone who came to play poker and, although it goes without saying, was lightyears ahead of Taj in terms of amenities and atmosphere.

Although from the few times I played the game the regulars dont seem like the most intelligent or practical types..

I tried to get them to try Revel but they had no interest in it based on what they had heard about the place. The same story about Revel that's been told and heard over and over again.

Wha?! I can't speak to the practicality side as much - although I didn't see it lacking - but they certainly were intelligent! At least, the ones I was playing with were.

Also, I'm surprised that they would even think of taking the game to Borgata. The reason it started at Harrah's in the first place was because a group of Borgata dealers were looking for a place to play.

I know, because I was there at the very beginning of this saga. Fun times!

Hey guys- I got a few room offers from Showboat/Ballys for the month of October. I just called them to book for next weekend and they said the rates were over $300 higher than my offer. I guess the "offer" was filled by other guests. Anyone have any tips on how to get these offers even if they have been supposedly filled? I know rooms are available and AC is hurting, so I know they're trying to put bodies in rooms. I was kind of turned off by their lack of effort to accommodate me, but I figure I will keep trying.

Keep calling everyday. The availability changes multiple times in a day. I generally check morning then again in evening. $300 for anything at showboat is obscene.

Is there anywhere to watch the UFC this coming saturday? I know the one bar at caesars plays or used to play the fights, is there any other place that anyone knows will show the fights?

Also I am going down with a friend that has never been, does anybody know the best casino to hit up for comped drinks/meals or play for new members? This is a long time ago but I know when I signed up for the then Harrahs Ent. card I got a little booklet of coupons/comps and was hoping to find something similar.

Thanks for any help.

the caesars properties (caesars, ballys, showboat, harrahs) still give the coupon book to anyone that hasn't signed up for a total rewards card before. i'm not aware of any of the others doing it.
