I have a question about Greyhound bus from DC. Can you take the bus to one casino and return from a different one? Thanks.

When booking on Greyhound, select the trip from DC to "AC Casinos" and that way you can choose which one you want to get off at. When returning, you have an open return window and can return from any casino or the main AC bus terminal on the same ticket within a three day window.

I'm a regular on this route from Silver Spring and have done this multiple times including extending trips and leaving from different casinos to allow for different departure times. Your ticket will be honored as long as it is within the return window. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

Do not leave from ballys.

Why not? That's where the buses come to and leave from the most, other than the main bus terminal.

If you leave at peak times and you don't show at least 45m before departure, there is a very high chance you can't get on the bus cause its full.

Also, the crowd to and from ballys is terrible.

Anyone live in a building/know of any with a kitchen, indoor pool/hot tub and weight room in the AC/Brigantine area? Looking for a studio or 1 bedroom to rent for 2-4 months.

I am coming to AC tomorrow, and staying at the Taj. I am planning on playing a few tournaments at Borgata and Harrahs. Would it be better to drive over there or take a Jitney?

If you have a car you should drive. If you save a receipt from one casino they will let you park for free in other casinos (this is what I have been told at any rate).

this is true and is good advice.

keep your receipt from one garage and you can use it to pay at one other.

unless you're drinking, you'll save a lot of time driving. but jitney is not bad if prefer to not drive. i take it all the time. but it'll be 20-30 minutes from the taj on a jitney and you may be standing there a while before one comes along with a seat. it's a 5 minute drive.

Cabs max out at $13 to and from any two points within AC city limits. I never understand why groups of 3+ people ever choose the jitney.

Just received this email:

Hello ACPG Forum Members:

Hope all is well! It's been too long since I sent out an email update. I'm doing so to let you know that a complete redesign for ACPokerGuide.com is in the works with a more modern design and much easier navigation.

Also, AND THIS IS IMPORTANT, an updated version of our famous Daily Tournament Schedule will return to the site consolidating the scheduled from each AC poker room onto one page. I have a much easier way to upate the list now and will be keeping it current on a monthly basis.

These new changes are scheduled to go into effect by early next week. I hope this will renew your interest in ACPokerGuide.com and I look forward to your feedback.

Best Regards!
Fred

This is good news since when I first moved to the area I found that website and tournament listing an invaluable resource. It'll be nice to see them back though I wonder if the excellent Poker Atlas has already filled the niche that they had and left...

I'm gonna be staying at the Revel in October for the AC marathon. Think there's any chance of a suite upgrade if I ask nicely/try the $20 trick? Or should I just ask for a higher floor of the regular room, which I hear are still very nice?

Any other recommendations/things to check out for a trip there would be appreciated, too. Thanks!

Zero chance for suite upgrade. Tried to get one with friends coming to AC and you can't even buy them on a weekend, it's only through a host so lol at the $20 trick for suite.

Even higher room is probably not going to happen. Is it a comped room?

If you don't mind leaving the Boardwalk area I would recommend going to the Gilchrist for breakfast. It is a well hidden gem. Get the blueberry pancakes which are + EV and thank me later. Check out the Trip Advisor and Yelp ratings and you will see. If you like Italian you can also go off Boardwalk for Angeloni's 2 which is not fancy but has good food at better prices then the Casino based rests. Try the Veal Braciole.

Revel is not known for upgrades and comps. Most of what you will be getting you will have to pay for, including a suite. The $20 trick only works in Vegas, so nice try. The good news is that you will be visiting off season, so prices should be coming down.

As far as places to eat, just walk next door to showboat and try "House of Blues" for breakfast. Fantastic food at decent prices. They also have a Johnny Rockets which is great for lunch or dinner. Buffets worth mentioning are Borgata, the best in AC IMHO, and Harrah's, which have a large array of food types.

There is "The Walk" a huge shopping area opposite Caeasars casino which would make for a fun day with kids/wife and walking the boardwalk is always an option. Hope you have a great trip.

@kittens: are you even reading what other people respond? You can't buy the suite at revel. Much like some of the suites at cosmo on vegas, they are given to by your host.

And revel had best comps in all of AC when the poker room was still open so a little tilting to read that "it's not known for comps".

Revel was the only reason I and many others I know even went down to AC on a regular basis.

Edit: the $20 trick worked for me at harrahs and caesars in AC...

hello guys quick question. What is the taj's poker room like now. The taj was my first poker home before the pa/de/md poker expansions took place. Back then it was all tables in use all the time.

Still there but not as many tables in use. They are still one of the only places that spread stud in ac, and you will also find limit and no limit hold'em. Good luck on finding 2/5 though, the Borgata is your best bet there.

They also are not on Bravo, so you will have to go to their website direct to get current game information.

For traffic and variety, it's probably still the second best room in town, but it's tired and a long way from the days when it was packed at any hour.

Anyone notice on this past flyer revel sent out if there is free parking in September? Staying at harrahs but may come to boardwalk Saturday. I don't get more than discounted rooms so Idc if I take advantage of the free parking. Do you need to earn tcs like at Caesars casinos.

If you're staying at Harrah's you can take the Total Rewards shuttle for free to Showboat. Revel is a block away.
