for 2/4 limit, your best choices are Showboat, Borgata, or Harrah's

sorry if unclear, i'm trying to get all 8 of us seated at the same table.

just show up at one of the casinos that regularly spreads 2/4 limit with the 8 players ready to go and tell the floor you all want the same table.

if there are like 5 open seats for 2/4 they probably won't accommodate your request. if they have just 1 open seat or all the 2/4 games are already full AND they have an extra dealer, then they'll open a new table for you

I would have said revel hands down since they have a history of doing pseudo-private tables, but thats impossible now.

I would try golden nugget. They have basically no games ever running so they could probably accommodate you.

They will set you up - and it's a very nice room.

Read the last two or three pages of the thread, there is plenty of info about where to stay in and around AC. You can easily use craigslist to get an idea of price points and locations.

I used to stay at Ocean Club (boardwalk next to trop) back in the day. They have off-season specials. I was paying 1,300 for a one bedroom condo with a huge balcony over the ocean, but that was like 6 years ago but you can check it out www.oceanclubrealty.com

Checking out hotels for the Borgata Fall Open now. Staying somewhere on the pike looks like the way to go. Anyone have recs for a cheap but reasonably nice hotel/motel? Just need somewhere that will be palatable for three weeks (i.e., decently clean, not loud, etc., don't really care about TV, speed of wifi, etc.).

Anyone know of any rooms at any Caesers Property Rooms that have decent wifi speed?

Showboat sucks, Ballys Tower Sucks, Ballys Dennis Rooms Sucks, Claridge Tower Sucks, Harrahs Atrium Suites Suck, and the Tower By the Poker Room at Harrahas sucks.

By sucks I mean like .02 mps

Borgata and Revel are both great, and Trop is decent, but I'm not getting comps there for next week, and have to get some work done during trip.

Stay at showboat but get work done at Revel? This is what I do when I have room offers from showboat.

Almost everything on the Pikes is a serious dump. I looked thru maybe 4 of them last April.
All were unacceptable. Shabby, smelly and worse.
Try craigslist for a rental in Absecon.

Some dude was telling me that some AC hotels are giving away free rooms during the week when things are slow. Has anyone ever heard of this? Sounds too good to be true. Maybe this was over the winter?

I'm looking for somewhere to stay for a night or 2 next week as I will be on vacation. I don't have any comps or anything since I'm mainly a Sands PA player. I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death, so my apologies. I will be checking old posts.

If you rack up enough points . Places like the trop/taj give 2-3 free nights a week (in the summer). if will also include weekends if played right.

Next week will be harder to get a room as its teachers convention.

This guy made it sound like they were just really desperate for people to come to the casino so they were giving rooms away for free without any points. Maybe I heard what I wanted to hear!

Good to know about the teacher's convention, thanks...

I don't know of any teachers who have conventions in August. The NJEA convention is in November.
