borgata will be the only one with a decent amount of runners on a weeknight. showboat and i believe taj usually get their tourneys off but with low numbers. good luck.

Since its never run before, no, no one knows.

I can tell you this much... Make sure you read every bit of promotional things they have on it. They tend to screw people over. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27...youts-1319154/

It's my understanding that this month is the first one, but they are planning to run it the last Saturday of every month now. I wouldn't be caught dead in that place though.

That bad? Well I'm just going for the tourney...if it goes. Otherwise I'm playing cash somewhere else.

Also why wouldn't get caught dead @ GN?, I heard it was nice. Never been there though...

The room itself is very nice. I just feel I got screwed there. Read the link a few posts up and you can make your own judgement.

Everybody has there own budget and definition of inexpensive. How much/little are you looking to pay? There are a few clean places in Absecon offering rooms in the $170 per night range

i stayed at the passport inn this past friday and saturday for 200 total. it was a very basic motel room like most of the others on the white horse pike. it was however very clean, customer service was good, free wifi with fast speeds, and a nice tv. it has become my preferred "cheap absecon hotel" now.

this is of course based on one single stay. i've stayed at about half the motels on that road and have had a ton of dirty rooms and poor service.

Hey, you guys gave me great advice on vacationing in Brigantine.

I'm looking to get prepared for online to go live and rent a spot in NJ. I'm keeping my NY house too, so I'd prefer expenses to be low ($400-700/month rent reasonable?)

-Can live anywhere in NJ, might as well be near the casinos
-Safe to walk at night
-24/7 weight room (any condos with weight rooms included or that'd be outta price range?)
-Lots of pickup/weekly routine basketball games nearby
-1 or 2 bedroom. Just the GF and I, both work from home.

Brigantine was great, but I doubt the rents are worth it in the winter
I don't know the area at all, any advice on best sites for finding rentals in a blind location? Craigslist and ??

Thanks

borgata for both. check out all the rooms... but borgata is best room in the eastern US. most games. most runners on the tourneys.

showboat has good tourneys too.

any rough idea on how many runners for there tournaments, and how many cash games would be running say 8pm friday or saturday night?

almost always over 100 for daily tourneys. if it's around one of their tourney series they get huge.

friday and saturday nights they get 60 - 100 cash games.

Unless something has drastically changed in the last few weeks, Showboat should have twice as many runners for their Friday & Saturday 7PM tourneys as was mentioned. And the fields are ridiculously soft.

Revel is closing its poker room in August. That means a lot of Friday and some Saturday night tournament players will have to find a new place to play.

Was just in AC this past weekend, and it was my first time to revel. Walking up from the boardwalk it is very impressive. Just went up to the casino, then into royal jelly.......my point is any casino that has at least 2 billboards and a huge sign on the entrance of their building that says "GAMBLERS WELCOME" must have done something wrong.....that's why your bankrupt

Gotta take the bad with the good. Conde Nast names AC 5th most unfriendly US city.

headed down to AC with a group of 8 guys this weekend and looking to get a low limit HE game spread for us (don't care if others sit at our table, as long as we can all sit and play and get drunk together for a few hours or so). which room do you guys think would be the best bet for accommodating us? was going to try Revel, but apparently that place is a madhouse now with the room closing promotional giveaways.

maybe Trop or Golden Nugget? not too familiar with those rooms however, especially GN.

maybe Taj? don't know if they've fallen far enough to the point of having no list for 2/4 or 3/6 LHE however.

has anyone done something like this in AC before? thanks for any advice.
