I assume you signed a lease with someone right?
I dont know anyone renting.

The girl i live with signed the lease, it's a year long. I've seen some month-to-month and shorter term leases on craigslist. You have the best chance of getting favorable lease conditions and prices during the winter months.

There is an nj transit bus that runs on a 24 hr schedule, stops at borgata. You could ride a bike there quickly from most places on brigantine -- it's a fairly small island. And ill give you rides if the good karma will give me some rungood

to the van business guy - i think the problem was the price you initially suggested was double the typical bus cost.

I believe he was talking about taking a cab from the Borgata to your new apartment in Brigantine.

Ah, gotcha. You have to realize, as a car owner, $120 per week is a DEEP discount.

I think there are some really shady hotels with weekly rates maybe grinding 2-3 weeks a month?

Are you planning on having another place to rent say where you are living now? Or living with family?

There's that bus brah

Don't know what it costs. It's nj transit so maybe they have monthly passes like their trains do.

Brigantine is a one way in one way out island and the bus runs up and back down the main road parallel with the beach. Stops at borgata

From the hotel room's perspective, it always looked like a good bike ride across the bridge. Obviously distances can be distorted when viewed from the 35th floor. Also not good if it's at night, raining, cold, snowing, etc....

but on a nice spring day, bike!

Don't use the A.C. taxis, use one of the two Brigantine taxi services. Last time I checked, Brigantine Beach Taxi and Brigantine Beach Vans were both like $9-10 to/from the Borgata to/from anywhere on Brig Island.

The NJ Transit Bus is the 501.
I've never taken it, but they do come around often and I know they go directly to Borgata. Check the website, but I think it's $2.10 per trip or a monthly pass for like $65.

Yes. It runs up and down brigantine ave which spans the whole island

Anyone have success with the $20 trick down here? I'm 0-4 trying between Harrah's, Bally's, and Borgata. Clerks just say no and don't even ponder taking the time to even check. 4-4 on all my vegas trips though!

First of all Vegas has many more rooms available; 2nd $20 on the east coast is worth a lot less than in Vegsas try $50 or $100

i think the main difference is it's accepted culture in vegas and casinos there use rooms to get people to gamble. most casinos in ac i believe have specific policies against the practice (i think it works at revel though) so the employees are told to turn it down. in ac casinos use rooms as a significant part of their revenue.

I have personally used the $20 trick twice at Harrahs and was upgraded to a waterfront room both times on a saturday night

It can happen. If rooms are available. Many times I can get comped at Harrahs and they want a fortune at other CET places in AC

that's good to know!

how did you present it? just hand the bill or did you say something?

Lattimer- I don't think the twentydollartrick.com website has been updated in a year, but I always appreciate the "use google" response. Is there a $20 forum just for AC on 2+2? I didn't see it when I used the "search" option on here and thought this would be the best place to ask.

Others- appreciate your responses

i was just very friendly from the start and used the old sandwich between ID and CC while saying "I would really appreciate any upgrades if they are available".

I was responding to the guy asking what it was. I realize the success stories on there are woefully out of date, but the FAQ regarding what it is and how to proceed with it is still very valid - that's why I linked it to the poster since he didn't know what it was.

No the only thread on here for that is in the Las Vegas Lifestyle forum, which as you might guess is about Vegas hotels. Given that, yes this is probably the best place to ask.

It worked at Harrah's the one time I tried it. A third friend tagged along with me and my buddy, and we put the $20 in between the license and credit card and asked if there was a way to upgrade to a suite as we had a third person.
