well if you are playing when it is hit you won't be too upset considering you would get a decent amount for room share.

I think these things are normally hit at a 1-2 because people play hands they shouldn't instead of folding.... (although it's tough to fold quads or a fold when you flop a full).... it did happen in one drop though (quads to a presumed royal flush)....

Straddling is now permitted in AC. I know Revel and the Borgata have it live. It's basically double the big blind under the gun. You can then also do a blind raise (in addition to the straddle) from the seat to the right of the straddle (which I saw once or twice in person at Revel).

While these rules should be apply to all AC, just for the hell of it, anyone know of casinos other than Revel or Borg that offer this?

There is no table share for the combined CET BBJ. You get the same share as someone in another casino.

I just found out that it pays 30/20/50. I am used to 50/25/25. Now when I win this weekend I will only get approx 210k instead of 350k. Now losing 140k is a bad beat.

210? How high are you expecting it to be? It won't be up to 700 in a week.

CET properties don't allow straddles and button buying. Just the other night I had the entire table, including the dealer, offering to lay me huge odds that straddles aren't allowed in NJ. Not surprising, since CET is usually light years behind other poker rooms...

CET is in negotiation to allow straddles, but as of now, Kvitlekh is correct in saying that they are behind the times. When playing at Revel, they only allow straddles on a table by table basis, PROVIDED ALL PLAYERS AT THE TABLE AGREE TO THE STRADDLE. I have played on several tables there, and it was 50/50 as to which ones were allowing it.

The dealers are still trying to get a handle on this as well, since New Jersery has been long in getting this. Not too sure of Borgata's rules regarding this, but would like to hear if anyone else has info. Thanks.

Yes. This is usually decided when the table opens up as this is exactly what happened to me this past weekend.

What is the big deal with straddles in NL games? Straddling seems to be a
negative EV move anyway. If you want more money in the pot look at your cards and raise.

this isnt really a promotions question, but it is a atlantic city casinos question.....I called ceasars properties today to reserve a room for one night the first week in august, the lady told me i need to put the entire thing on my card in order to reserve? this is something new is it not? i could have sworn (%99 possitive) i have reserved a room in the past at one of their properties where i only had to give them my card to hold the room but they did not charge it, but when i asked her if this is something new she told me it has always been that way and there is absolutely no way to reserve a room without paying for the entire thing at the time of reservation.

i find that to be ridiculous...granted im only going for a night so its only $300 or so but what if im going on vacation for a week i need to tie up a few grand months in advance when i book the room?

yea but not sure any sane person would want to stay in most of the places right across the street from the casinos, especially the ones for the price he is most likely looking for...

ive stayed in a few of them and they are all discusting..one time me n a bunch of buddies stayed at the flamingo or pink flamingo or whatever its called and when we got back at 3 am wasted we pulled out the phonebook too call one of the escorts services and when we told the lady where to send the girls her response was "oh, we dont send our girls to that hotel, its too dangerous"...we were all really drunk so i guess no one really realized how messed up that was until the next morning...but thats def a sign that 5 white 22 year old kids should not be staying there

Most people want to play 1/2 if they are at a 1/2 table. If I wanted to play 1/2 with a straddle, I would have played 2/5. It's really annoying if they only time the game is "playing bigger" (has a straddle) is when you are out of position.

I never had trouble in any of them, but then I was just going back to the room to sleep, not bringing back hookers or anything. I think the Howard Johnson's was the nicest.

For those on the lowest of budgets, I would recommend the Irish Pub, right off the Boardwalk near Bally's.

Wait what!!! I have staying in Howard Johnsons across the country a few times and never had a problem. So we arrive at AC around 1 am and had no reservations anywhere on a summer sat. night. I start calling around and HoJo was the cheapest I could find at $199. We pull up and it looked OK. We get our room key and we go up stairs. The hallway smells a little but we dont think anything of it. We follow the signs to our room and when we made the right it was the scariest thing I have ever seen. The pool is on a second level which was so disgusting, I hope no one really swims in it. Our room was actually outside like a motel, in the alley there was a blinking neon light above a few dumpsters. We watch a lot of horror movies and this felt like it was right out of one of those. We walk to the end of the row and our room was the last one. The door was wide open and the lights were off. I do not know what I was thinking but I walked right in and there was a man sitting in the chair. He looked at me stood up and walked out of the room. We called the front desk and was told it was the last room they had. My wife slept and I sat up all night. It was the worst hotel experience that I have ever had.

TLDR;
cliffs: HoJo smells, was too expensive, and very scary.

i've always had a credit card charge "hold" of the first night put on my card right away no matter how long the stay. so if you stay for one night at a 300 dollar room, you get a charge of 300 on your card right away. if you stay a week and the first night's rate is 300, you get a charge of 300 on your card right away, rest due at checkout. you can cancel up to 2 days prior and have the charge removed.

The only non casino hotels I would stay at within the city are the Sheraton, the Chelsea, or the Flagship. The Flagship location is terrible and I wouldn't walk around there...but beats staying off the island IMO.

jeez you people have no sense of adventure.

I (used to) stay at Country Hearth in absecon, but their rates were jacked sky high the last time so I'm not going back there again. I'm a man of the bottom of the barrel time, as long as the door (kinda) locks and I can sleep for a few hours, I'm good.

What is the cheapest (non comped non poker room rate) that you have seen? I don't care about how "bad" it is.

Cheapest in AC itself is almost certainly the Irish Pub. For one person it's $25 weeknights, $40 weekends.

The way I look at it is it's +EV for me if others want to take a -EV position. I don't have to straddle, but I'm fine with others putting more in the pot blind if they want. I only have to get involved in that bigger pot when I have a good hand. It's kind of like getting to play 2/5 sized pots without ever having to post the $5 blind yourself.

I love the straddle's up in here in CT. It has made so many would be small pots very big for me. Nothing is better than looking down at a monster when there is a straddle, very easy to get some money in the middle!
