Hope this is an appropriate location for this question. I've heard on occasion that if you get a comp room in AC, but don't play at that casino, they'll charge you for the room. Is this true? Does it apply for a reduced rate room also? Am I correct in assuming that the play has to take place while you are checked into the room(for instance, could you play at the casino before check in/after check out and not be charged the full rate)? Last question, do tournaments qualify as play, assuming the above rule is, in fact, in place? Just curious, trying to plan a visit, thanks!

Some places do have fine print to that effect, but I have never heard of it being enforced. It is more likely if you get a comped room and don't play they will just cut off any future comp offers.

Harrah's has been getting 1/3 NL games for the past few weeks. Usually 1 or 2 tables, the times that I've been there.

Is there a beach bar that opens for the summer along the boardwalk?

big park in brigantine right over the bridge, lots of playgrounds in ventnor or absecon. Hell during the day i'm sure even in ac isn't going to be an issue. I believe there is a court on bacarach(whatever it's spelled) a block or so off pacific.

Im coming in to town this upcoming Monday. I've been 3x before, but haven't really ventured outside of a casino for food. Anyone know where to get some homemade Italian food. I'm craving homemade Gnocchi. There are very few places you can find it here.

Any other places that are good to eat, preferably outside of a casino, to eat. Dont care about price or anything else.

My dad and I are looking for a relatively inexpensive place to eat dinner tonight. We're right outside AC in Absecon but are planning on driving into AC for dinner soon. Any ideas?? Thanks for the help

If I was in Absecon on a Friday night and I wanted something inexpensive, I'd stay in Absecon. Local diner or Italian. Yelp is your friend.

I want to get down to AC at some point, but probably will be playing $1/$2. It might be nice to actually walk away with a profit, not just break even on expenses.

That being said, I was having trouble finding apartments/rooms on the cheaper side.

Apartments in the $500 - $750 per/month, or say a room in a hotel at a discounted rate if someone stays for an entire month, probably in the same range as I listed for an apartment.

Somebody just mentioned 'the projects' a few posts back. What would a decent room cost there?

That means housing projects. You would have to be a permanent resident and show a very low income, I would imagine.

My reason for playing $1/$2 instead of $2/$5 is more for bankroll purposes, not because I don't think I have the skillset to be a winning player at $2/$5.

So, are there really no places in the price range I mentioned?

Nothing decent, that I'm aware of. Play enough poker and you'll get some free hotel rooms, but not enough to live in full time.

From what I've seen, decent apartment rents (for even a small unit) start at around $1,000 - $1200 a month. And that is for the off-season, or for year long rentals. Summer rentals are much higher.

I had a furnished studio with a balcony and a shared pool two blocks from the beach for $750/mo (including utilities, cable, and internet) in Brigantine during the off season. I paid in cash upfront so she knocked it down a bit but it'll still be cheaper than most. I can PM you the landlady's number when I get home. I'm at Borgata until Friday.

And you can just win more at 1/2. Didn't say anything about moving up. But you're probably the illest so I'll leave it alone.
