thanks for any and all help
like was stated, they are all up on the weekend, if you don't mind cabbing you can stay in absecon and take a 10 minute cab ride in, this may be inconvenient for you, just another option though

Thanks, I myself prefer the pool, as does she, so I won't be able to convince her to change where her bachelorette party is it, I appreciate the help, I will just have her call. That was my initial thought, just was checking to see if anyone here knew/recommend any specific VIPs.

A couple of things that may be new only to me...

1) The Borgata is allowing folks to preregister for their upcoming Summer Series with credit cards online. As far as I knew, the Taj through PokerTickets.com was the only AC property where one could do this, although as far as I can see, the Borgata is not opening this up to their daily tournaments right now.

2) If you're like me (and maybe you are) you sometimes want/need a cheap hotel room and nobody will comp your stay. When this happens, you want something cheap but not 15 miles away from the action and not a roach motel where you are as likely to be robbed of your laptop as you are to get the WiFi to connect to it.

I had such a case on Monday and booked a night at the Howard Johnson's on Pacific through Hotwire. I used Hotwire because I got $20 back through an offer in the Entertainment Book, but in all of the usual places, the room was a shade over $50 including all taxes and fees, and it was only a couple blocks from the boardwalk walking distance from all Boardwalk properties.

The room did not suck. I didn't fear for my life and neither did my wife. We agreed we could even bring out 9-year old to stay there and wouldn't worry. It was actually fairly clean and the staffers were nice. If you need a cheap room, you can do a lot worse in AC than HoJo's. I know. I have.

so now that i just booked my summer trip (July 20-22)to AC at Trump Plaza 3 days ago(Cheapest casino to stay in on Boardwalk for a suite especially) I find out today on press of Atlantic City that it is for sale. How does this affect staying there? Will it be a nightmare or not to worry about it? I dont see how they can sell and transfer ownership in 2 months

I am hoping my comp rooms can transfer to taj though.

heading to AC this week to play some poker...wondering if anywhere has $5 blackjack to entertain some friends while i'm off playing? I went in January and the Trump plaza had some $5 tables but i'm not sure if that changes at all

also will be staying at the wyndham which is $10 a day for parking...anywhere cheaper around that area?

Weekend tables tend to be higger limits. Unless they plan to play prior to 1pm, finding low limits will be tough at any casino on Friday or Saturday. Your best bet is probably the Atlantic Club, which is catering to lower limit players. The other possibility is to play at the dollar tables, which charge a per hand players fee, and can be found at Trump, Bally's, and Atlantic Club.

Just curious, how's Harrah's Showboat Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City 2-5NL game, if the game even exist? Tough, bunch of fish, very few tables?

Secondly, what's the best place to grind out 2/5 NL in AC? Borgota or somewhere else? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you

2/5 Is normally played at the Borg and Taj on a regular basis. You can use bravo to find games in AC.

Could anyone provide me with some good info regarding free wi-fi along the Boardwalk? I've done a bit of googling but want to know from more first hand sources... Again, free wi-fi not paid wi-fi to the casino.... Thx!

Tropicana has wifi in most spots (Including the poker room).

I'm going to be in Atlantic City from roughly 6/14 - 6/25.

During the weekdays, I can get a night or two comped from Borgata and the Tropicana has a $49/night poker room rate. Trump has $65/night weekdays, Ballys is $25, and Caesers is $39. Every time I'm in AC I always play Borgata, and have played once or twice at Tropicana, so I'm nervous about getting a poker room at Trump/Ballys/Caesers as I have no sense as to how many tables of 1/2 and 2/5 NLHE they typically are running on weekdays and weekends.

The poker room rates naturally go up quite a bit on weekends - does anyone have any ideas as to what my best options are for Friday and Saturday night poker room rates (or other hotel deals)?

Most of the AC rooms are on bravolivepoker.com, and the Taj has their own live game report which, while usually a few hours behind, will still give you an idea of what they spread. Bally's doesn't spread 1/2 but they spread 1/1 and 1/3, and they usually seem to have a few tables of each at non-dead hours, like right now (430pm on a Tuesday) it's 4 and 2 tables of each respectively. 2/5 went a fair bit in the past for things like double comp promotion days but doesn't go as often anymore. Caesar's has three 1/2 tables right now.

Can't help you with room rates as I have a place not far from AC.

these rates are all for poker rates? Do you know if they are applicable all summer and how many hours required?
Wouldnt it make sense to take borgata if you already play there unless you are trying something new and enjoy the boardwalk?

Thought you might find it interesting that under the new DO|AC campaign there is a section of items to do for bachelor/bachelorette parties.

One activity they mention for bachelor parties is poker!

Here fishy, fishy, fishy, fishy.... Thank you DO|AC!

Looking to make a trip to the Borgata, any cheap hotels, 30 mins out(going back to Phily way) that is less expensive?
Atlantic City General Discussion Quote

30 minutes? there won't be anything but pine barrens. White horse pike going out of the city is your best bet for close to borgata and cheaper.

At one point they were the cheapest. It's most likely because it's the summer....

Check the Bravo poker app. I just dis and it looks like harrah's has a 1-3 game. There may be other casinos who would spread it so you should ask esp the larger "poker" casinos.
