It was back near the Pacific Avenue entrance in a small raised area a few steps up off the main casino floor. I haven't been back there in years but it's supposedly still empty.

Was planning on stopping by borgata tomorrow for the am tourney but just checked greyhound and the last bus leaving from ac to nyc is at 5:30pm. What happened to all the other buses after that? Why’d they cut them off? Seems to be less and less reason for me to go to ac every day

NJ Transit has buses that leave after 5:30 pm...

Yea I checked that after, I don’t like nj transit. The buses aren’t as comfortable as greyhound and they make pit stops it’s not a straight drive like greyhound

I'm the opposite. I love NJT busses and hate Greyhound.

NJT is !!ALWAYS!! on time, more open seats without a neighbor, more flexibility with open return tickets and it's only slightly longer than Greyhound.

I am guessing you've never had one of those days where your Greyhound bus is late, then the next one is late, then you have to catch the next one after that with a line behind you to fill up 10 busses, then have the bus breakdown mid trip, all when rushing back to the city on a tight timeline.... and get back to the city 6 hours later than intended...

The breaking down part no, but a couple of times the bus didn’t show up. The once or twice I went with nj transit the seats were lumpy and uncomfortable, I guess I just wasn’t lucky

this summation just made me realize i should have taken njt the whole time. i've probably taken greyhound or academy 100 times.. and njt once. and i've hit the "late bus then fight to get on any bus for the rest of the night" scenario multiple times.... but that $25 - $40 casino credit always got me coming back.

Is NJT the 319 bus? I read that it’s $31 one way, pretty expensive vs the other bus options

Just FYI: I don't think NJT buses have bathrooms....
Somebody correct/verify this please.

Actually, every one of them I've riden on in the past 3 years has had one. Always heard that they didn't have them, but never experienced one without one

There's an option for a RT ticket that's $42, I believe

Yeah, and I can understand why some might prefer to suffer GH and get the free play. However, for me personally, the juice just isn't worth the squeeze

Greyhound lowered it to $20 since the pandemic. But I guess I’ll give nj transit a chance then since there’s some positive feedback with them.

The different perspectives here are really interesting, I guess speaks to the inconsistency in all these services lol.

From Aug 2019-March 2020 I was taking Greyhound back and forth between NYC most weekends. Price was 25-35 each way. And I had zero issues with scheduling, packed busses, or uncomfortable rides. Was coming down Fridays between 5PM-6PM, headed back Sundays usually around 9AM. Nonstop every time.

That being said I've since taken Greyhound a bunch of other places and every single ride was delayed significantly with a packed bus lol

I started off with greyhound back when they did not have guaranteed seating on buses. Would have to line up ~45-1hr before departure in the stuffy basement. Sometimes the line is so long that I had to wait 2.5hrs, esp on weekends. Bus always packed.

Then I discovered the chinatown bus. No line, always seats and frequent schedule. It was only $28 round trip with $50 freeplay ($25 slots $25 table). Downside is that the bus is a piece of crap and very dirty. You will witness a fight for seats almost every round trip. But the bus speeds through to AC and always on time, so I stuck with this for the past few years. Heard they had to close this year.

More recently I’ve discovered onebus/flixbus services thats relatively cheap ($40 RT) and comfortable. Might end up switching to these instead in the future.

Oh yes, I've heard of them, too! I am eager to try it, as well, I've heard good things on AC facebook groups. I believe they have freeplay, as well.

As a non-Asian person, the Chinatown busses have always been somewhat intimidating to me. One of my best friends is Asian and he's told me how it works, with the bus being somewhat segregated in terms of where the gringos can sit, the fighting to get on the bus and the favoritism shown to Asians over non-Asians, and being expected to tip the driver. I'd rather take NJT busses than deal with that

What is onebus/flixbus? And I took a chinabus to Albany more, those things are uncomfortable, I’m good on them.

The Chinatown bus is shitty regardless of race, the old grannies will swat at anyone that tries to sit next to them. I would say that the service is more mainstream now with way more diversity in demographics. Saw someone in a suit riding it lol.
