Showboat - does not use shuffle machine
Golden Nugget - does not
Borgata -
Bally's -DOES use machines
Caesars -not sure, haven't played there in a while.
Harrah's -DOES use machines
Taj Mahal -

Thanks Tyler and Kittens. Just to be clear, we are talking about them using machines during the daily tournaments, not for cash games. So Borgata, Harrah's and Bally's uses shuffle machines for their daily tournaments?

Same for you grizy. Does the Taj use them for the dailies?

I am guessing no they don't. Because they did not used to as stated earlier in the thread. But it's been a little while since I played a daily there and can't remember.

Has anyone received a notice about a Harrahs' diamond renewal gift yet? I feel like I heard about it by this time last year, and I want to book the weekend in April when they give it out. Anyone hear anything about when it will be given out? and what it is (coupon book maybe?)
Thanks.

Alright guys I need some help. I am going to be at Caesar's for the WSOPC and I remember hearing something about the parking there being like $20 or $25 as opposed to $5. Is this true? If so, is it cheaper at Bally's or somewhere nearby?

true but they rarely enforce that signed price if you have a total rewards card and it's not busy. park at ballys to be safe.

yeah, they have signs up since last summer that says 20 or 25 for no card and bronze card and free parking for diamond and 7 star. but i've only notice them charge it on busy summer weekends (same weekends when trump properties raise their rates). i usually avoid to be safe. if you eat at a restaurant on the pier you can get validated parking.

is this for all the ceasars properties or just ceasars palace?

also trump is right next door, and im pretty sure still 5 bucks correct? maybe i can just park in that garage n walk to ceasars?

just ceasars palace. on busy summer weekends (usually long weekends) the trump properties raise their parking prices too. if you park at ballys you can cross into ceasars without going outside... pretty much as soon as you enter the casino... like i said though, a couple of times i've parked at caesars since the signs went up and they only charged me 5 bucks with my bronze card.

im trying to come to AC March 21 and 22 over my spring break if i go the 22 will be comped at trump plaza and going to attempt to get the other day free.

anyways i am wondering what are the games like on the boardwalk between Wednesday afternoon and thursday night(im only going if my friends are coming thursday night so i wont be playing that night)
I would consider staying at Showboat to be at the other end of the boardwalk or Harrahs if the games might be solid for me on a wedsday night

I played at delaware park 1/2 on sundays a few times already and have read a few books so im only half awful at poker after almost 10 years of playing.
are the 1/2 games during the week all regs where i stand no chance? I wont even attempt borgata but idk if i feel comfortable playing at the taj at night by myself

I was thinking sitting at 1/1 at ballys to try and build a stack to a couple hundred early in the afternoon

i have never played in a casino tournament but if theres one for 40+12 or something that i may be able to beat id consider that

The games (1/2 and small stakes NLHE) on the weekdays are still soft. Unless you are bad I still think you can do ok. And you can play 1/2 pretty much anywhere. It doesn't matter where you play for the most part.

If you want to play a small tournament then I suggest Showboat, as they have the best structure and bang for the buck. It will be $65 for all their tournaments during weekdays.

My own question is about Absecon. Can anyone suggest hotels to stay at there that are nice but still economical? I would think paying more than $150 for the weekend to be too expensive. But I would still like it to be closer to $100. Anyone make any suggestions on motels that aren't flea bag motels?

so anywhere on the boardwalk will have relatively easy players ill prob play one day towards showboat's end and might look into that tournament

Back in the days before the casino properties were giving away rooms I stayed in Absecon a lot and tried almost all of the branded ones. I never had a bad experience, not even at the budget ones. Pretty much the price tiers are a good guide as to the quality of each and on Travelocity there are plenty of them for under $100 per night on weekends. If you just need a bed and bathroom the budget ones should be fine.

As a precaution I always checked in before hitting the casinos. If there was ever to be an issue I was giving myself time to find other options.

I assumed it was free booze in the casinos if gambling/playing poker, but had a mate tell me that's not the case? Can anyone clarify?

Will be there next week for a few days, proably the Taj/showboat for the most part.

Your mate is wrong. Booze in the casinos is free if you're playing.

What are the nightlife options for Sunday? Seems like all the big clubs are closed.

A buddy of mine is interested in joining me on my next AC trip but he doesn't play cash and that's all I play.

He likes SnGs. Do any SnGs run regularly on weekends? I don't recall many but never really paid attention.

I remember seeing a few interest lists at Borgata. What about the boardwalk casinos?

Or are tourneys his best/only option?

TIA

Just got back this past week from AC and it seemed that the taj and showboat had some good turnouts for their low buy-in tourneys.

it might be the end of the line for trump plaza 1) i cant book a comped room on their site and 2) you cant book any rooms on their reservations page for a weekend you can only check out.

even though i have only been to ac once i personally like the plaza its a great location on the boardwalk and me my friends enjoyed partying in the suite lol
the casino is kinda sketch and i only played there in the late afternooon before dinner and in the morning around 10:30 on the slots

one casino down 6 more this summer? unfortunate stuff
