FWIW, most poker rooms in PA also have slots in place now, but that's only to space them out more while poker's not open. I don't think it's fair to assume they're closed forever just for that reason, unless someone in upper management has verified it.

Ocean had already closed their poker area for good pre-shutdown.

oops ok srry np...someone posted something like that in another room and I found out it was false, after a dealer who was laid off contacted me and was upset after reading it.

Now that Borgata has announced it's reopening next Wednesday... what about the other casinos, that will surely want to keep pace? With 30 max tables on the Borgata, there is certainly going to be demand for other rooms, since Borgata will be at capacity on the weekends, for sure.

The rooms with the biggest physical footprint have a great advantage, like Harrah's and Caesar's/WWW/WSOP whatever you want to call it. They have so much space and tables in the back area at WWW, and could seriously compete with Borgata if they want to.

I assume they'll open up and want to stay as competitive as possible, but I doubt they would open more space for poker than they had pre-covid to meet the demand Borgata can't take--they still have to deal with overall casino capacity restrictions and my guess is they're going to want to cram as many slots players in the building as possible.

No, they definitely won't open more space then before, but, Wild Wild West has been pretty empty when I've walked through it. I'd guess they're nowhere near even 10% capacity.

Pre-COVID, they not only had the main room the use near the podium and cashier, but tables immediately outside of the room, and that whole back room completely filled with tables. I think they could fit 30 properly spaced tables, or maybe slightly less.

5/5 Borgata PLO reg here. Thinking of grinding Germany soon.

Anyone live near Borgata or AC area want to meet up AC area and just talk poker and hands at Starbucks?

I cannot play at the Borgata because of my job so I am hopeful other rooms will soon follow suit.

So Harrahs and GN have rooms at like 65/nite but then there's a $22 "resort fee" on top of it are they crazy or what? I may as well stay down here in MD I'll save a ton on expenses. I used to get 2 free nights/weekdays at Borgata but I guess everyone's trying to nickel and dime everyone due to slow times.

Get Diamond, it's not too hard, then no resort fees. Put in a little volume at Borgata and they'll throw free rooms at you. I am comped in perpetuity, basically

Free Borg rooms are about the same in fees. $15 resort fee + $3 fee + $2 fee + taxes.

I don't mind paying it on free rooms but it's just a junk fee if I stay 5 nights I throw away $120 which adds to my over head not to mention if I stay on weekends my overhead more than doubles gotta keep up on expenses or they get carried away real quick (I know that all too well)

I think once you start playing, they will offer you free rooms. They never charge me during the week.

Looks like they are selling
Cannabis on the Boardwalk.

The medicinal cannabis dispensary
is located on the Atlantic City Boardwalk
at 1301 Boardwalk

True, but that's only during the week and they still add the bogus "resort fee" onto it. My play week goes from Thursday through Monday, weekends are a big part of my week and it's almost impossible to get a decent rate in AC besides staying at a whore house hotel on route 30.

This could be the answer that saves Atlantic City if they make recreational use legal there.

Play longer days, get weekends. Get your average up to ~$15 EC/day.

I play 8 to 10 hrs of 2/5 per day would that get weekend comps

Historically that would be enough yes. 8-10 hrs a day in time games like 2-5, 10-20, 20-40 etc does the trick.

That historical benchmark doesn’t hold right now. Most players I know who average $15-$17 EC/day have seen that about 2/3s of their weekend offers are gone.

Has there been any news of some of the other AC poker rooms besides Borgata opening any time in the near future???

There are a lot of holiday weekends on the current booking calendar. Halloween, Veterans, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, MLK. So it's not surprising to see a bunch of non-free Saturdays plus a few Fridays. Other than that, my offers are the same as always.

The Borgata has enough people
Willing to pay for rooms and a
Sufficient number of
Housewives putting an
Alarmingly large number of
Bills into the
One-armed bandits,
So that $15-$17 is not enough.
The superior product the
Borgata offers is bringing
In the cash. It took them
About 15 years to reach this
Point

Same. It think it probably also helped if you played in AC from June-now. I've gone down 4 times, I think
