Walking into the book it reminded me look and feel-wise of the new Park MGM sportsbook in Vegas that I checked out for the first time last summer. Then it occurred to me that the name of the new sportsbook at Park MGM is "Moneyline", which is the same as the name for the new Borgata book LOL. So it seems the fact that the new Borgata book somewhat resembles
the new one at Park MGM is by design.
The Borgata Moneyline book is right across from the old Borgata Race and Sportsbook, which is still open and which still takes both horse racing and sports bets (the old book was actually busier than the new book when I went in there Saturday afternoon, though it was mostly people betting on horses).
The Moneyline book is arranged in a circular format with *numerous* TV's (as well as a score scroll) spread out high on the walls throughout the circle, with a video poker bar in the center of the book (the bar also has TVs on all sides). I didn't place any wagers at the book but was told by a manager that the book doesn't comp drinks for sports bets (nearly all of the books I went to don't) - you only get comped if you're playing video poker at the bar. The old race and sportsbook across the hall does still comp drinks for sports bets however.
The book has a nice, modern design. The seating areas seemed slightly small (relative to the other books I checked out) but there was a wide variety of seating types (couches, leather chairs, wooden chairs, etc.). A good portion of the seating is table seating where you can order food from the sports-themed "Playbook" menu they have. On draft, most standard domestic beers were $7 while craft beers/IPAs were $9/$10.
The book also had a shuffleboard, two table soccer games, and 1 or 2 electronic betting machines.
Overall I thought the book was nice and certainly looks very nice in terms of aesthetics, but I was a bit more impressed with the new books at Ocean, Caesars, and Resorts...
