Is it because you guys like your burgers medium, maybe? People who insist on MR are very picky about it not being overcooked (I am one). Whereas, if it was overcooked, it wouldn't matter to you guys.

For me personally, my ideal for a burger would be just on the medium side of medium rare. So if a burger were served to me truly medium, I'd be fine with that. The problem is most places in my experience serve an almost medium-well burger when they say they recommend medium/have a floor of medium.

I now must try this burger sometime and determine for myself whether it is good or bad. For reference, my all-time favorite burgers--other than one my uncle made himself with venison and pork fat--were from Village Whiskey in Philly and Thunderburger in DC.

I have to try it, too, now. I'm looking forward to it. I still miss Fatburger at the Borg, even though I guess the current place is basically the same thing

I'm also OK with anything between medium-rare and medium. I probably ordered medium, and I don't remember it being overcooked. I just remember the taste not being special. Now I'm thinking I want to try it one more time.

I've heard people say that the burgers at Rocco's are really good. Based on their subs, stromboli, and wings, I can't imagine them being that great. I also have had a burger from Wahlburgers, and I don't need to have another one.

I will rep for Village Whiskey. Also Sketch in Philly does a nice job though it's been ages since I've been there. Thurman' in Columbus, OH is also great

Yeah, Wahlburgers is basically glorified McDonalds. There was one near me in the city but went out of business in less than 2 years. Service was always awful.

It is only when I read your post that I realized that this location has closed. One of the few times I visited, I ordered a burger to go and received a chicken sandwich instead.

As I remember, it was a normal burger place, nothing special, but certainly above the weird meat, cheap-everything McDonalds quality.

Yeah, except their burgers cost more than twice as much as McDonald's. I guess if you have comps to burn anyway, then it's okay.

im usually near the south side of the strip (by the trop) , so the four i have gone to are

1.mr taco ,, no frills spot, really good , wrote about it on my other post.
2. el patron , a liottle more of a sit down joint, good tamales, and good tacos
3. queens, its a jack of all trades restaurant, but the cook is mexican, and can whip up some good dishes..
4. sabor salvadoreno ,, its salvadorian, so you go mostly for pupusas, but the mexican side of their menu is good.

all of these are located on atlantic , between morris and sovereign .

From Greyhound:

"Starting today, all passengers traveling to and from Atlantic City will need to travel on the schedule confirmed on your ticket. To ensure all customers have a seat on the bus, only customers with a confirmed ticket for a specific schedule will be allowed to board that particular bus. We will no longer be allowing open-ended tickets.

Because we strive to provide the best travel experience for all our customers, we encourage passengers planning a trip to/ from Atlantic City to keep the following in mind:

When booking your trip, choose a departure time that best meets your travel needs.
On the day of your departure use BusTracker for the most-up-to-date information on your bus.
As a friendly reminder, boarding begins 20 minutes prior to departure.

We understand sometimes your travel plans change, and you may want to head to the casinos early or maybe you're having so much fun in Atlantic City you want to take a later bus back home. If you need to adjust your departure date/time, go to Greyhound.com to purchase a ticket for a new schedule."

Guess I'm never taking Greyhound here to/from NYC again.

This is nonsense. These AC adventures
Are completely unreliable.
Departure times vary 90 minutes
From the stated times.
Buses cancelled without
Notice. Drivers do not come
To work. This announcement
Isn't worth the paper
It's printed on.

Taking the NJ Transit busses have always been better. No free slot play, but it's invaluable to me to know the bus will actually be on time. Greyhound from NYC is pretty decent, but on the way back, it's been a **** show. I get both seats to myself every single time I take it, as well.

I'm sure it'll be nice to know you have a seat, but that doesn't mean the bus won't show up 2hrs late like they normally do. One scenario that happens a bunch is, for example, you'll get there in time for the 6am bus and the next bus is the 8am. The 6am bus won't show up, and the 8am will show up a little late. What happens then? Punish the people who have been waiting 2hrs+? At least now, it's first come, first serve.

Wow!
I submit that (IF buses are on time), this is the right way to go.
Although the "open ticket" system's flexibility was great, greyhound never publicized it well which resulted in people thinking they had RESERVED seats for a specific time. Then they try and "cut" the line. I've witnessed physical fights over this confusion! It was so stupid. All they had to do was print "OPEN TICKET - NO RESERVED SEAT" on the ticket! But... they didn't.
Sigh.
I predict a very rough adjustment period.

I've taken NJT down and back the last 10 to 15 times I've gone to AC and both departing and returning buses have been on time every single time. There's a 15 minute wait at Tom's River, but it somehow has around the same drive time as Greyhound. I get out and use my THC pen and enjoy the 2nd half of the ride.

I would agree the adjustment period is going to be rough for Greyhound. They are pretty incompetent.

You know how deep my hatred runs for Greyhound, and how deep my love for NJT better than anyone haha.

Looking good for you and your boy next Friday, btw.

I have comped rooms booked for 5/10-5/12 and 5/17-19 at the B if you wanted to join if I end up going.

319 timetable:
https://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T0319.pdf

Note on the second page says NY (or Newark or JC) to AC roundtrip is $42, open return (ten days), not available from the bus driver.

No perks, it goes to the bus terminal.

Scheduled travel time is 2:35, basically the same as Greyhound's.

Wow, all this bus talk is making glad I can take the train to AC. Well, I used to, and hopefully it will be back up and running soon. For the past six months, while the train has been down, they’ve been running a special shuttle bus. I’ve discovered there are pluses and minuses to the bus, vs the train. It’s been posted here that NJ transit buses are better than Greyhound. I’m guessing that, if they’re like the usual NJ transit bus, they don’t have bathrooms. I don’t think I’d want to be taking a 2.5 hour trip on a bus with no bathroom. It would be nice for the people in NY if there were a train line going up the coast, connecting to one of the NJ Transit lines in N. Jersey. One of the many ideas tossed out a few years ago by one of the buyers of the old Revel was a high speed ferry between NYC and AC. That would have been interesting.

I would've loved that. ACES was a joke.

There is no bathroom on the NJT Bus, correct. However, the stop at Tom's River is about 75 mins from the city, so it's not so bad. However, I am a camel and can hold it. Never thought to myself, man, I wish I could use the bathroom on the bus. If I wanted to smell pee, I'd just take Greyhound, a lot of their buses wreak of it.
