Well, since you asked so nicely...
Wound up at Harrah's because it was the best value and also because it was the latest which gave me a chance to get dinner with my wife and kid. Since we didn't give any play to the Hard Rock despite getting a tier-matched room (no poker!) it was the least we could do. I did use a $25 coupon that was emailed to me which cut my $100 meal at Song by 25%. It was solid high-end Chinese food. My Black Pepper NY Striploin with Asparagus was reasonably priced and quite good.
The tournament was a bust. Just couldn't get anything going. Won a small hand with AQ with a CB on the flop against one player. Literally the only hand I won. Got short when I raised to $5k at $600/1200 with AJs after a couple of limpers only to be reraised. I had to either fold or shove and folding made the most sense. Finally with about twelve BBs I shoved on the button with A6s although I did notice the UTG player limped. I thought he was terrible and trapping but I decided I couldn't fold a suited Ace in this spot but he snapped with AK and I was done. It was not long after the rebuy period ended. I think it got 58 runners.
I drove over to Ocean AC since they have the best comps plus I seem to have managed in one previous weekend of a few hours of $1/2, a small amount of slots, and dropping $100 in blackjack to get a legit Gold card (and $25 in slot play). I cashed out with $5 and played $1/2 for a few hours. I would have played longer but the wife dropped by and spending time with her seemed like a better option so I racked up $90 in the hole.
Since we had our teenager with us we wound up the next day taking in
Bohemian Rhapsody at the Tropicana IMAX. He wanted to see it. I love Queen and thought the movie was well done but the factual inaccuracies and the way that dead people were made the villains and unable to defend themselves (and also the fact that it wasn't a *real* IMAX, you know, the kind with the round ceiling and superb sound) made me internally grumble. But the kid and wife enjoyed it.
Made the mistake of walking back on the boardwalk in the rain. Sucked. Should have Ubered but by the time I made that determination I was already soaked. Dumb ass.
We hit the noodle bar at the Hard Rock for some desperately needed Pho. It was okay, the noodles were a bit sticky and the beef got more done than I like but it was strong and hot which was important at that point.
Overall not a stellar trip and without poker I probably won't visit the Hard Rock again. Hoping I can get some offers from Ocean AC in the winter months as that is likely my best shot since Harrah's doesn't seem to care anymore (I cannot gamble on playing my way into a room), the Trop and Nugget don't give rooms away for poker players and I cannot play at the Borgata due to my job.
