I'll be coming up this weekend from N. Ky/Cincinnati area. My friend and I are booked at the Trop Thursday and Friday night comped but we still need a room for Saturday night and all the rates in the area are like 300+ per night. Any decent poker room rates I could possibly earn? Also where is the best place to watch UFC on the 6th? Thanks

There are places you can get for 150 or so. Have you tried logging into your cet account and see what they offer ? And as far as the fight. Chickie Pete's which is inside the trop shows the fights in it's downstairs room with a great ambiance for like 20 a head. Make sure you get the Cajun fries

Drive 10 minutes west on Rte 40 , Black Horse Pike and pay $150 Egg Harbor Township. Drive 45 minutes west and pay $80 (Runnemede, Bellmawr, use the highway hotel coupons)
Or See trivago

You can also look into Absecon, NJ, on Route 30, for less expensive rooms.

There are a good number of lodges with rooms off the island check the Shore Mag or trip advisor for some leads... run up Rt.40 or Rt 30 for 15 mins. and you will find some good spots just off the island

Is it worth playing cash anywhere in AC other than borgata or is borgata the best bet? I’m just looking for 1-2nlhe that is splashy.

Is it worth playing at Golden nugget when they run splash the pot?

Thanks for any info.

Harrahs AC is very good between 11pm and 4am for what you are looking for. Players are allowed to bring their entire stacks on the table change, plus the game is 100-500, so the game gets pretty splashy that time of night. In the daytime, there are too many nits around there lol

Golden Nugget is at it's best on Wed and Friday when the Tier multiplier is at its most generous...They splash the pot every half hour with 25 bucks for each 1-3 N/L Would love to jump in the 5-10 Omaha.. NLH They had at the Ocean last week. Lets put multiplier and a novel game together for some good action and fat comps!

Thanks for this info!one of the last times I was in AC (prolly 2-3 years back) I played on a weeknight at harrahs for 30 min (1-2nlhe) the game was super nitty so I left after half an hour bc nobody was really playing aggro and the game wasn’t splashy like a borgata 1-2 game. I’ll def have to check out harrahs on a weekend night!

Also do the golden nugget tournies ever have overlay? I was reading the twitter and the volume of players for mtt seems kinda low so just wondering if the Thursday/ friday night mtt has any overlay bc I plan to play them as they have a solid gtn. I’ll be there to play the morning mtts at the borgata for a series so just wondering if I should stay at borg for the nightly mtts (thurs-sat) or go to the nugget.

I'm at the Trop right now. Three tables going. 2 NL and 1 LH. Only been here a few hours. The casino itself is pretty nice with the shopping. I'm pretty pissed at myself for allowing my wife to walk from the Tanger outlet to the Trop. She walked down Paciific. Pretty bad area (I know theres probably worse around here) as she watched a guy shooting up.

My wife walks to and from the outlets frequently. Just have her go straight to the Boardwalk, then walk down. Pacific should definitely be avoided, especially at night.

Can anybody offer some pointers on Greyhound from Port Authority? I used to take Academy, haven't done Greyhound in a long time (or maybe ever?). Do you have to go to the regular ticketing area? Where's the gate? That sort of thing.

I usually drive (central Brooklyn to Borgata = ~2 hours, better than an hour to PA plus waiting plus the bus trip), but my car won't be available to go tomorrow as I'd planned.

Friday night busses are awful, you wait online and busses fill as they come doesn't matter what time your ticket is for. My advice is spend the extra $6 and get the flexible ticket which gives you priority boarding and you skip the whole line situation. Saturdays I've never done but for a few extra $ to get priority boarding it's worth it in my book

Does that mean buying online in advance (and this for a specific time), or is that an option when you get there?

I'm used to the Academy method: go to the gate, there's a ticket window right there, get in line and get on the next bus. I was there a couple times that the online-ticket line was getting "no, you have to wait until the time on your ticket."

Greyhound's website is such crap for this. Here's a website about this special thing we have...which has no actual information about it.

I wish I saw this yesterday, or I would've told him to take the NJ Transit bus, Soccer. You know I'm that busses' biggest cheerleader.

Yeah, I've read of the virtues of the 319 here.

In the end I decided I couldn't face Port Authority and making a two-hour trip take six hours. I'll probably regret it by the middle of the week.

The 319 took us 2.5 hours each way.

Had a great time at the Trop. Of course I won both nights which might have had a but to do with it. Met some real nice guys. One guy says he plays a lot in AC. We swapped 2% of out lottery tickets too.

I busted an older guy and he got up, loudly said God dammit Christ in Hell about 10x then left. He had a miserable attitude all night.

I never heard of this "priority boarding" ticket but I think you will start a riot if you wave a ticket and try and jump to the head a 200 person line (like there was on Friday night). I'm serious! I really think people will flip out. The scene is already pretty tense.
I try very hard to NOT travel during those peak times.

Last Friday evening there were approximately 200 people on line at the Port Authority. The 3PM & 3:30PM bus had not shown up and the ONLY thing that kept the peace was that everyone agreed it was "first come, first serve". The atmosphere was tense with people verifying that strangers (who joined friends already in line) actually knew each other.

I can only imagine if 20-30 people just walked to the front and tried to board (even if they had the right to do so)! I've actually witnessed fist-fights break out with police called.
So.... I'm glad it worked for you but having this option available is just additional evidence that Greyhound is clueless. To be fair, greyhound DID rustle up more buses and (amazingly) almost everyone boarded about 40 minutes late.

Dunno if many have it but I really enjoyed Resorts kiosks they have right outside the sports book, makes everything fast and easy to fool around with dollar amounts/payback etc for every particular bet you want

Want to do a tournament this Sunday night.

Options are:

6:15 Golden Nugget ($55 for $20k/20 min levels; $2k guarantee)
7:15 Tropicana ($50 for $20k/15 min levels)
8:15 Harrah's ($65 for $20k/20 min levels; $2.5k guarantee)

All things being equal, Harrah's seems the best value. I was leaning towards the Tropicana because it's on the Boardwalk and I can walk over to Ocean AC to play $1/2 (I am staying at the Hard Rock which has no poker).

Anyone have any feelings either way?

I don't have anything useful to offer unfortunately, but good luck and please let us know which you chose and the details of how many people played and how you did.

Trop tournaments dont run. Not even sure why they even list them. Harrahs 8:15 is the best choice. But be prepared to play til 2-3AM.
