Unfortunately, if it's on a weekend, they're pretty much screwed. Some options they might consider are hotels/motels outside of AC and in surrounding towns. Also, if you play at any of the casinos, you might be able to check them in to a discounted room using your play if you're gonna be (or live) somewhere nearby.

Yeah, it will be a Saturday. I did expect the worst but thanks for the info confirming. If anyone else knows of anything, feel free to chime in.

Absecon has hotels that are nice and reasonably priced and it’s a straight shot to Borgata.

You get $2/ hour comps at
Ocean Resorts for playing $1-2.
(and this may be increased
To $2.50.)

Even with the Black Card,
You will get charged
Some comps for the
'Complimentary' Player's Lounge
($1 comp taken out at the
Visit and a reduction of
The comps earned...)

The idea of not giving poker players
Tier points at OR doesn't make
Sense. Why open sports betting
If you are not going to take
Care of your poker players?

If OR is giving $25 for (their) Gold, $50 Platinum, $100 Black.
Pearl/Platinum = Gold, Gold/Diamond = Platinum, higher/7Star = Black

I've stayed in Absecon a bunch of times. The prices can range from very cheap to a little expensive. The rooms can range from complete dumps to above average hotels. The area seems very safe I've never seen any sketchy characters hanging around. Its about 15 minutes to the Borg. Country Hearth (old name, dont remember the new name) was giving a free meal at Denny's IDK if that still applies.

Visited the Hard Rock yesterday. Long lines for new cards, but there were people helping out those that were going to upgrade to the premier cards, so I could have been out it 5 minutes with my card.

Because I had to pay $10 on the way in for parking, I waited about 20 minutes in the Rockstar Royalty (RR) line to get $10 slot dollars as a refund (standard).

Played some comp dollars on slots (not JoB poker) and didn't do well. Met my buddy who was a Borgata slots player and hung out with a cigar. Wasn't concerned with max value.

Ate at Kuro with my buddy and his son. Food was very good. Waitress was attentive, but a bit strange. A relaxing 2 hour meal. Prior experience in those kinds of places meant we ordered some apps to start. Food comes out when ready, so ordering a full meal probably means out of order for when we want things, and quicker than we prefer. They stress family style, placing dishes in the middle, but size of dishes was smaller than expected to share. Apps went quickly, we ordered fish and meat and they were tasty, but next time we'll do a rice/noodle dish too. Desserts were tasty, cappuccino and espresso were served quickly and piping hot.

Wife and I are headed down next week for her to register/promo whore. We'll probably pick a different place for a casual quick bite.

No poker means I'm unlikely to put in much time there. Seemed busy for a Sunday night, clean and not too many pit games. Only a couple smoking areas. Signage was good enough. Staff friendly and helpful.

Had a horrible experience at hard Rock yesterday morning, went and got tier matched and got $150 in free slot play, go to use it and it's not there, speak to the floor? Person in the high limit room who says he sees it and unsure why it's not showing up on the machine. He tries calling the players club for me but unfortunately doesn't get anywhere and says I have to go over there.

Get to players club (second time there today) and the women tells me theyre having some computer problems and it'll be fixed in an hour. Okay fine

Leave and go to Ocean to gamble and comeback 2 hours later and still doesn't work.

Get back online (3rd time) speak to the same woman and she is very nice and tells me the computers are still down. I ask for a supervisor who tells me the free slot play expires in 7 days. After complaining rather loudly that I had to catch a bus and wouldn't be back for a few months she finally gave in and said she'll put a note in my file to put the free play back on next time I come. So all in all will have taken 4 trips to get my free slot play.

All in all I wasn't the only one with the problem and there were a lot of unhappy customers

I guess I'm glad I bailed on my plan to do the HR/OR shuffle yesterday!

Thanks for noting about the parking at HR, Blue...I'd wondered if it was pay on the way in or out.

@soccer4life3 -- I did see some people who claimed to come back multiple times. One woman was either so upset she was ready to cry, or was shooting for faster help/additional comps. Mentioned loudly multiple times that it was her 3rd time back, she has never had these problems elsewhere and was ready to just leave.

Apparently not all the kiosks were working, and not all the mobile devices (staff walking around) were working either. It did seem like they were trying to address the problem, and the trays of water bottles being walked around was thoughtful.

@sirpupny -- If I got an earlier start, or wasn't headed back next week, I would have gone over to Ocean too. Parking attendant was nice, like everyone else, but according to her, not everyone was understanding about the pay on the way in model...

@FrankyRizzo -- I didn't valet, but the non-card holder self park was $10. Assume valet is the same. Sign up for the card and you should get that $10 back in slot dollars. Get on a line to the counter to see a real person.

Hard Rock:

went on a thursday for rascal flatts concert. valet ended up being $15 but it was very quick in and quick out the next morning. overall i like the renovation and theme much better than taj. we ended up staying there and i was able to get an AAA rate of 179 for the night which is alot for a thursday anywhere but something must have been going on because everywhere in AC was that rate or more.

they did a great job renovating the place. its really really nice. feels very high end compared to other casinos in AC. the room felt and smelled brand new. it had a really beautiful bathroom, it was a king room also had a huge couch below the window. id rate the room 8/10.

i still dont really like the floors layout. a bit confusing for everyone. the quick serve restaurants upstairs were okay. place was busy though. the concert venue etess arena was really nice. they allowed you to bring alcohol in which was weird but i was okay with it since i had mine with me. concert started at 7 and ended around 1030. once out, everyone flocked to the hard rock 24 hour cafe and it was an hour wait.

the high limit room was nice and big. had a combo of table games in slots.

overall 7/10 i would go again

Based on the news report I saw this morning Bally's will begin accepting sports wagers a few minutes from now.

I made a bet. You must make a
$50 bet to get a drink coupon.
The spread is $5 better for bettor
At William Hill on a $100 bet.
(example: -115 to +100 Bally's vs -110 to +100 WH.)
The betting area is adjacent to the
Poker room and there appears to
Be a cocktail waitress dedicated
To the sports betting area.

Yes, well, I think they are getting ready for the football
Season. But to an uneducated sports bettor
As myself, looks like a lot of errors, mistakes,
Lack of training or lack of supervision:

(1) cancelled my last baseball bet at Bally's
Because they moved the line but didn't
Tell the bettor until after the ticket was
Printed. (Bait-and-switch)

(2) my last bet at William Hill
Was made to reflect the opposite
Of the bet I requested. (lack of training)

3) received an offer at Ocean
For 7 days a week. When I called
To book a room I was told
No comp rooms were available
On the 8 nights i wished. (Bait-and-switch.)

4) My last visit to the
Premier Player's Lounge
at Ocean Resort featured
Frozen sandwiches. (Lack of supervision)

5) So I'm contemplating a trip
To the Golden Nugget
and the Borgata, where the
Quality of the food is excellent
And a comped room is still
A comped room.

6) I've not had anything
But pleasure From the
Hard Rock Cafe,
but am still looking
For where I can give
Them action.

7) I haven't had problems
getting my comps at
Tropicana, their promotions
Are reasonable, and I hear they
Are working on a sports
Betting area.

Yes it was rumored the lines would be worse than online/vegas due to higher taxes I believe.

I believe with William Hill he's referring to the sportsbook at Ocean

Yes, of course.
Was there today
And the whole place was
Covered in debris, dust particles
From the construction.
100% not safe to breathe.
Best to avoid until
Sawing, hammering,
Circular saws, etc.
Have finished sending
Wood and other particles
Into the air.

Looks like Resorts
Sports Book is opening
at 11 AM today!
Dunkin' Donuts
10 yards away.
But don't count
On rushing
(For a coffee and

The octogenarian

Just looked up that tournament on Bravo: out of the $45 buy-in, $30 of it gets to the prize pool (assuming they don't take 3% for the dealers because they have a $5 dealer add-on already).

Wow.

Wow.
Its 30+10+5 with 3% getting taken out of $30. So, $29+16 lol

I guess its not a bad option for beginners who are looking to just get some entertainment in...

Does it have to be about poker alone??? I just left the beach after the Air Show What a great sight... Plains flying Parachutes dropping and and Ice cream venders all up and down the sand. you could stick your head in a poker room on the beach or in the marina for few hands , have a top notch meal in one Casino spot or a restaurant of choice if you know a few joints, but this is a beautiful day in mid August and you don't get this in Parkx or Chester, Sugarhouse ……..only the Jersey Shore.
