That is correct, for the standard 9:6 JoB machines in AC. The other one that has a very good payoff is some versions of Double Double Bonus, which I believe is slightly higher and is probably what I was thinking of when I mentioned 99.7%. I am not as familiar with the strategy for that game though so I don't play it myself.

There do exist versions of JoB and other games with perfect play payoffs of over 100%, but none are in AC (I have seen some in downtown Las Vegas, for example).

Does anyone know is it possible to get one of these safety deposit boxes at the AC Casinos? The reason why i ask this is because i'm planning to go to AC much more and each time i do this, i always have at least 4k with me. I always take 1-2 day trips to AC and come back.

I plan to play poker only. The thing is i take a bus to get to AC each time but i'm starting to think its very foolish of me to carry this much with me everytime. Does anyone know which AC casino has safety deposit boxes available?

I assume the only people who could get it are the high stakes players and those who play a ton of hours if they play poker and high stakes? The thing is i never felt uncomfortable carrying so much money with me but then i started reading about many other poker players who mention they rarely have over say 3k with them and most of time 500 max if they are taking a bus since there can be shady people there.

So I'm starting to feel kind of dumb in a way that i always carry a lot of money and not worry when i should be. Someone mentioned there were rental fees but how do those work? Also, which poker room has these safety boxes? Or are those saftey boxes different from casino boxes?

I used to have a box at the Taj; it was easy to get and there was no rental charge, just a $100 deposit that I got back when I turned in the key because I wasn't using the box anymore. Not sure if they still are available though, or if they are they might not be as useful, because I heard somewhere that the Taj doesn't always have their poker cagge open anymore. They also have boxes at the Borgata but I have heard they are very limited so only go to very high limit players with a waiting list.

I used to take the greyhound bus out of the basement of New York City's Port Authority bus terminal, with close to 10K in my pocket...I don't really think you need to worry about it. I never had a problem or have seen any major problems, except for a few drunks.

I would be more worried about it if I put it in a box, but that's me.

Don't worry, just don't take the money out of your pocket and count it so you don't give anyone any ideas

Same here. I never really worried at all, i always felt safe. I thought this was foolish of me because i saw lot of people mention they didn't feel safe with like 3k in their wallet carrying and walking around so I thought about getting a safety box for this reason.

side note- staying at econolodge on pacific behind tropicana anyone ever stay?
The winter rates on the Pacific motels are great. Just spent $50 for a Fri night at Red Carpet Inn (close to Ballys, I believe). No need to go to the pike for a cheap motel. Room was a bit old, but at least it had a fridge and microwave. Good enough for me. I'm sure the Econo Lodge will be the same kinda deal.

Even the ACH was $85 for a Friday, and it has a casino, pool, fitness room, etc. Gotta love winter rates.

Hey guys. I was at caesars recently and noticed there was a sign that said it was double comp dollars if you played poker from monday-thursday at any time? Did I get the dates right? I know for sure it counted towards thursday. However, there were very few tables at caesars.

Also its $1 comp per hour at 1/2NL right? So that would make it $2 an hour if played during monday-thursday? I know comps are $1.50 per hour at 1/2 for Borgata and $2 for 2/5NL at Borgata.

Also, would this promotion be only at caesars or all the harrahs properties? I saw a promotion at showboat where you get a free buffet if you play 5 hours at showboat so i assume everything is different?

Since I thought any play at any of the 4 harrahs properties would count as one, then wouldn't the promotions be the same? Someone also mentioned that they got comped rooms at Harrahs pretty easily after playing there for very little time, but wouldn't playing at showboat, caesars or ballys be the same? Now, I'm thinking no because each room has their own different promotions such as the double comps at caesars and free buffet at showboat on monday-thursday?

Can someone clarify this for me?

The promotions are different among the CET properties, but Harrah's has a similiar one, it is $1 comps extra per hour anytime Monday through Thursday.

I plan to visit towards the end of February/ Beginning of March.

Looking to Start at Bally's and play everything from 1/1 NL 2/4 Limit and up to 2/5 after I got a feel for the place.

How is the weather/ turn out to tournaments and cash games during this time a year?

I have a four wheel drive, and a 50 mile a gallon prius, Would I be okay making the 7 hour hike with the Prius.

The turnout will depend on the day of the week. There are always good turnouts at the Borgata on all days of the week.

there are usually always at least a few 1/1 & 1/2 games at bally's, or a 2/5 later in the day and on weeknds.

Before you leave, just check the weather report. I would def. take the prius, unless you have a few people, then take the 4X4 just get some cash from them lol otherwise as long as theres no snow in the forcast you will pay about one fifth the gas price

Thank you for this information.

I already have a Total Rewards Cards, (misplaced but I think the casino can get me a new one, and add that to my roomrate etc right?)

What would the poker rate be for most of these places on fri-sun? My goal is to put in as much poker while in Atlantic City with a few mixed table games in as well.

I normally play Holdem of course, Blackjack (up to $25-50 a hand), Four Card poker, Craps and Roulette. I am looking to start getting free rooms during the week, and on weekends. What can I do to help with this, and where should I choose to do so? Borgata? TAJ? or the caesars properties?

Any safety tips that aren't already posted here? I'm a 6'0 285 white male, I plan on using Valet only. And limit the amount I walk at night. I will also be taking $2500 in cash, with an allowable expense of the trip of $8000 max.

the parking garages are one of the safest places. the boardwalk is generally safe but has dark areas during the night where monsters can hang out, and try to knock you out for some money for their dope... just stay in the casino area and on the boardwalk, and most of pacific avenue is ok as long as you don't start exploring down side streets.

While AC is generally safe in the day, use some caution at night (in particular the boardwalk).

I disagree re the parking garages. They are, in fact, not that safe. Use caution:

Thank you everyone for the advice. Is doing Valet only everywhere I go alot safer? Or should I just walk most places where they are well lit? I am not a city goer- so I am not sure how much streetsmarts I have. I am a Army Combatives and weapons trainer though..

valet is always fine. it also costs the same except on busy weekends (mostly holiday weekends and summers). the only downside is sometimes you have to wait a bit for your car (and tip). walking during day is never a problem. not too bad at night but definitely much more sketchy. if i drive i usually go self park... i just avoid taj's self park garage. they not only have multiple issues in the garage the past couple of years, but also on the walkway from the garage into the casino.

also, if you are going to taj, their valet is right in front of the poker room so that's nice. if you go to borgata (the busiest poker room) park in the "surface lot" and the entrance is right next to the poker room. showboat's parking garage leaves you with a long walk to the poker room.

Valet parking in AC is fairly inexpensive. I know the Borgata valet is $5 and the water club is $10.

I believe the valet at most casinos is only $5. I could be wrong on that so if you hear something different let me know.

I believe valet is the same price as parking in the garage. So whatever the garage is charging you, it will be the same for valet.

Well long story short. First trip to AC ended after an evacuation of the city during hurricane Irene. After a 5 1/2 hour drive that morning, I spent 5 hours in the city before they evacuated me out, what a day.

So I got great rates and I'm staying at the chairman tower at the taj for three nights. My question is, where is the best games? I primarily will play $2-$5 nl but also play $5-$10nl depending on how I feel I'm playing that day. Play 5 days a week at Foxwoods and am looking for a good game in AC. I know the borgata is the best bet but how has the taj been lately? Any info would be great.

Ps. First post on the 2+2 long time browser just finally registered.

You probably won't find $5-$10 anywhere except the Borg. You can find $2-$5 at the Taj, but I'm not sure if they ever have $5-$10 NL going. They have a few higher stakes stud games spread most of the time.
You might find 1 $2-$5 table going at Caesars or Harrahs during a busy weekend or big tournament series.

Personally, I don't like playing at the Taj. Showboat isn't too bad if you're looking for a decent tournament.
If you gamble at any Caesars property (slots, table games), you'll usually start getting offers for comped nights during the week.
So if I'm using a room offer from Caesars, I'll stay at Showboat. They run 4 daily tournaments, usually ~$65 BI, with anywhere from 40-70 players. Plus they always have at least 2 $1-$2 tables going. Hope that helps man.

Yeah that is what I figured. I've been checking live game action on borgata and taj's website and it seems like taj is pretty limited in their spreads.

Really didn't feel like taking a cab back and forth from he borgata back to the taj. Thanks for the input. Have you played at the new nugget?
