Anyone know if they still have those shuttle busses that drop u off at all casinos from the train station?

I haven’t used any public transportation since the pandemic but I just got my booster shot

Parx is good but there is also a pretty wild 5/5 PLO game that runs at Delaware Park! Seems as if it runs almost daily lately according to Bravo.

Prepare yourselves for another increase in AC room taxes. The NJ Sen. Budget Committee approved a bill authorizing a $3 increase. It still has to pass in the Legislature and be approved by the Gov. but there’s no reason to think it won’t go through.

No they don't. Government needs to stay out of the way of private business. If you don't like the resort fees just stay somewhere else. Or stay at one of the Caesars hotels. They are dumps - but at least they have free resort fees with diamond which is easy to get. Most of the time the resort fees are comped. I've only had to pay them when I didn't gamble.

Government involvement only makes things more expensive, not cheaper. Half the casinos revenue goes to the government already and AC screwed up their town. At least Vegas is still decent and relatively safe.

I see this as a truth in advertising issue, so it's fair game. The casinos can charge whatever they want for a room, but they have to have a single, well disclosed price for it. This having a price plus mandatory add on fees is a form of bait and switch.

Is it hidden some places? I only know Borgata, where before you book you see a plain "these are the charges" listing. (Or at least you did...I haven't booked a room since 2019 at least.)

It's false advertising and unethical for the Borgata to say I have comped rooms when they're actually $33/nite.

Borgata is not too bad. Ceasers hides it more and the prices on their calendar shows “As low as $0” and will have tiny scripts that say fees may apply without listing the atrocious $27+ resort fee

I agree they suck, but they are not going away until people stop paying them, or something disruptive happens, like how some airline fees went away over COVID times.

One thing I just noticed booking a trip to Vegas: when booking the room online, at one point in the process, MGM will show you the total price including the room taxes, and including the resort fee, but not including the tax on the resort fee. So you get to the final step and the total is $20ish more than what it showed on the earlier step. WTF.

Which is better than caesars, which shows you a total without the resort fee at all.

What the heck is the resort fee if the tax is $20. With a 20% sales tax that is a $100 resort fee.

It was $20ish tax for multiple days. It was the normal Vegas MGM resort fee, $35 or $45 per night, something in that range.

Going to be in AC Thursday through Saturday this week (Dec 23rd - Dec 25th). Does anyone know the Diamond (Laurel) lounge schedule for Harrahs, Tropicana and Caesars for those days? Can't find this holiday schedule info online, but if someone walks by those lounges anyways I assume the holiday schedule would be posted. Thank you!

Anyone have any tips/suggestions on requesting a free room upgrade in AC?

I have a trip planned later in January and it looks like I might be stuck with the West classic room in Tropicana. Does the $20 bill trick work? Should I just ask nicely when checking in? haha

I have used the $20 trick to some success at Harrah's previously but not in some time.

When I did it I would specifically say I wanted a nicer room and would make allusions to the times before the nice person took care of me in the past.

Caveat: This was last attempted some time ago so I do not know if it still works. I do know that worse case you tip someone a little better than you would have but hey, it's that time of year, right?
