I'm going up this Saturday so I'll post a review probably Monday - maybe of Oceans and the Bally's sportsbooks as well...

I still do once, sometimes twice a year. Looking to go this weekend. The DC to AC casino Greyhound buses are still pretty good value (discounted trip rate plus casino coupon through the Lucky Streak promotion). For example it's $21 each way this weekend which is a great rate for a busy holiday weekend.

Have used them on and off for several years and have never had any major problems like some of the ones mentioned above in this thread... I mean you get what you pay for with cheap bus service and sometimes things don't always go smoothly. You can also count on the wi-fi being crappy/non-existent at some point 45-60 minutes north of Baltimore.

Worst issue I had was a couple years ago when the bus got to the Philly stop and there was some sort of issue where the bus we were on was no longer usable (forget the exact problem) and there were no other buses available to go out to the final AC stop so we were all given vouchers on the spot to take I believe it was an NJ Transit bus from the Philly bus terminal to AC. Delay was about 60-90 minutes.

2; Oceans -Good size, good feel, good bar ....good room overall

3; Borgata - more of a club feel, nice bar, still do not like the lines and bet menu

4; Resorts - smaller but has a lot to offer ; like the self serve machines

5: Golden Nugget - nice location comfortable size ; self serve machines everywhere ; No NBA hurts overall rating.

6: Tropicana - Not bad ; not great ; average

7: Hard rock - need to check back was under construction last visit; could have some possibility tho...

8: Harrahs - Small token site for betting only

Overall some real nice options to choose from and come football season thing could get fun..................
Is the Borgata review from before or after the new room opened? I walked by it the other day but didn't have time to stop... it looked grerat though.

The new sports book at Bally's is great. Seats 250+, the chairs lean all the way back and are very comfortable. Good ¸bar service and they are still working out the kinks. Best place to watch a game in the city right now, I think.

Review for the new Borgata
MoneyLine Bar and Book?
Checked out the Borgata sportsbook (as well as a handful of others) this past Saturday. It is a nice sportsbook, though I'd definitely rate it behind the new book at Caesar's/Bally's and a bit behind Ocean's new William Hill book and even the DraftKings book at Resorts.

Walking into the book it reminded me look and feel-wise of the new Park MGM sportsbook in Vegas that I checked out for the first time last summer. Then it occurred to me that the name of the new sportsbook at Park MGM is "Moneyline", which is the same as the name for the new Borgata book LOL. So it seems the fact that the new Borgata book somewhat resembles
the new one at Park MGM is by design.

The Borgata Moneyline book is right across from the old Borgata Race and Sportsbook, which is still open and which still takes both horse racing and sports bets (the old book was actually busier than the new book when I went in there Saturday afternoon, though it was mostly people betting on horses).

The Moneyline book is arranged in a circular format with *numerous* TV's (as well as a score scroll) spread out high on the walls throughout the circle, with a video poker bar in the center of the book (the bar also has TVs on all sides). I didn't place any wagers at the book but was told by a manager that the book doesn't comp drinks for sports bets (nearly all of the books I went to don't) - you only get comped if you're playing video poker at the bar. The old race and sportsbook across the hall does still comp drinks for sports bets however.

The book has a nice, modern design. The seating areas seemed slightly small (relative to the other books I checked out) but there was a wide variety of seating types (couches, leather chairs, wooden chairs, etc.). A good portion of the seating is table seating where you can order food from the sports-themed "Playbook" menu they have. On draft, most standard domestic beers were $7 while craft beers/IPAs were $9/$10.

The book also had a shuffleboard, two table soccer games, and 1 or 2 electronic betting machines.

Overall I thought the book was nice and certainly looks very nice in terms of aesthetics, but I was a bit more impressed with the new books at Ocean, Caesars, and Resorts...

They're both MGM properties, so it's clear that MGM is attempting to brand their sportsbooks a certain way.

You'll have to report back how the MMA is -- I've got free tickets to all of them, but haven't managed to talk my better half into it.

I'll be at Ocean for the blackjack freelol on Friday night.

It blows me away that Atlantic City pols keep finding new and ignorant ways to punish the already depressed AC casinos and their dwindling patrons. They certainly live up to their corrupt reputation. If it wasn't for Borgata, they could roll up the boardwalk and shut down the whole ugly ass city for good.

This is not a new fee, its been in place since casinos opened there in 1980s

The AC/CRDA parking fee is only $3 per vehicle. The casinos pocket everything above that; an extra $2 at Borgata and more at some of the other casinos.

The fee started in 1993. Gambling began 15 years before.

Who pays the $3 fee for all the free parking?

Golden Nugget has free parking for everyone. If they can have free parking, why can't every casino?

Casinos have free parking for patrons who have Platinum, Elite, Premier, Black level player cards. They also have free parking for Veterans.

Not sure, but I did find this. So I guess the casino pays it in hopes it pays for itself in other gambling revenues from these groups.

Couldn't you look at this as similar to different airlines having different fees for baggage?

One airline might charge less on bags but more on their ticket prices.

I don't think you can just single out this fee and compare it across all casinos. Maybe Golden Nugget charges more for their beers.

Crazy. I been going to AC forever. I never recall paying this separate parking fee. I know I pay to park at the outlet mall but I thought that was just a private venture, not municipal.

Does anyone have more information about the new Lucky Streak policy that I am reading about which requires an exact departure time for round trip tickets??? That seems counter productive, is there any way around this? I’m speaking of NY-AC

It *USED* to be that you just "hop on" any bus within a certain time window of your ticket. It was convenient but caused CRAZY confusion since many people thought they had a reserved seat for a SPECIFIC bus!
I've seen fist-fights break out, police called over angry crowds, etc.
So now, it's (AFAIK) very simple : If you have a ticket for the 2PM bus, then you DO have a seat on THAT bus. Changing your bus costs $.

Thank you, any idea how much it costs to change a ticket? The Greyhound website is not helpful at all!

$0 on the NJ Transit Bus, which is what you should take instead of Greyhound

Don't know the cost to change a ticket but I don't think it's cheap.
NJ Transit is definitely something to consider.

Arguments for NJT:
* NJT is much more reliable than greyhound
* The free change ticket cost (apparently)

Arguments for greyhound:
* More buses (I think)
* Buses go to casinos & not just to bus terminal
* You get $25 in slot dollars

There may be more issues but that's all I can think of....
Not sure of the ticket prices...

This is all correct but more buses for Greyhound. If there are, it's not many. However, they're kind of useless if they don't show up on time or at all.
