I'm not sure I agree, prior to the legit aspect there was always a way to book a bet on a game, however the continued saturation of the poker game and market has made a pool of poker players diluted from Las Vegas and A.C. to multiple venues up and down the east coast as well as the midland near ex. Maryland

I matched my Borgata Platinum card to Diamond. Now i need about 3000 points to keep it for 2019.

What is the easiest way to get 3000 tier points? Video poker? It looks like 1 tier point per $20 coin-in. $60,000 coinin at 95.4% video poker is about $2,750 loss. Is this the best I can do?

Caesars has 99.91% JWD according to vpfree2, not sure the points for coin in on that machine

just about every property has 99.54% JoB

I'm planning on making my first trip to AC in January (mid-week). As a first time visitor who is planning on playing at least 6-8 hours/day, is it feasible to assume that I'll be able to get a comped room during that trip? Or will the comps only start being available afterwards? Also, where would it be easiest to get a comped room purely from playing poker?

Comps come after you've put in the play at most places, however, some places like Harrah's, Bally's (technically called The Wild Wild West), and The Tropicana offer free rooms on the spot after being swiped in with your players card and putting in 4 hours of play. Harrah's and Bally's tend to be hit or miss, though, you could get a free room as easily as not. I've tried this before and got rejected after playing all day. You have much better chance of doing this at The Trop, but probably only for one night since you're new, but you may be able to do it for 2 nights.

However, you should just be able to play at Harrah's and/or Bally's, get enough play to get a discounted room, and get away only needing to pay $70ish dollars total per night. You should be able to just create an account on Total Rewards' website, and book a room through their online portal after playing for a bit and get a discounted rate.

All casinos charge what's known as a "resort fee". Harrah's and Bally's charge roughly $33/night even for a "free room". Tropicana is $25.

If it were me, I think I'd probably just take the safe bet and lower resort fees and go for the Trop.

I am planning on staying for most of January and haven't booked a room. I'm assuming harrahs wi comp me for poker, but admittedly I am definitely gambling a bit as to whether I end up being comped.

Worst comes to worst you still get a rate of you play, but u seriously doubt, even with BPO in town, they are going to be out of rooms.

Is this true for weekends as well (assuming there is availability), or is there a seperate poker rate for weekends?

For Christmas weekend poker rate is possible;
For New Year's weekend need a miracle.
Call Tropicana, Ocean Resort, Harrah's, Bally's,
and Borgata.
2/ if you don't have a history
Of play then trivago
Is your best bet.
3/ if you've never been to
#TheOceanAC you
May be pleasantly
Surprised that they'll
Match your card level
From another casino and
Give you a free room.

How is Bally's Diamond Lounge? I've been to Harrah's and Caesars. Imo its Caesars >>>>> Harrahs.

How many reward credits does it cost to enter without 25k or whatever tier credits?

Does the Diamond member have to pay an entrance for themselves and their guest?

AFAIK you cannot pay for entry with reward credits. You have to be diamond or seven stars. As to guests, if you are diamond with appropriate amount of play your guest is free and if seven stars then up to three guests are free.

As to which lounge is the best, I have not been in Bally’s so I can’t say. I can say I have found the quality to vary much across sites and even over time at a single site. They are imo not as good now as they were a few years ago. Probably a cost saving considering how cet has been passing out diamond status through tier match

I matched my card to Diamond and used the lounge at Harrahs. I had to pay $10-12-ish to get in anyway. (You only get in free if you have 25K tier credits, IIRC.)

As for the "lounge", it looked like a grimy retirement home with 70s feel, low ceilings, old furnishings/decorations, and that falling apart feel to it.

As for food, I am not a picky eater. I almost never, ever leave food because of taste because in general, even if something is not to my liking, it is rarely that bad. But Harrah's "lounge" has managed to win this award from me: the selection of food is tiny and it is worse than the cheapest junk you can image. I left most of the things I tried on the plate. This is how I imagine prison slop food.

It is absolutely laughable to me that this is how they would reward their regular players.

if you are diamond and have not earned 25K in past year it is 1000 credits ($10) for you and 1 guest to enter.

The atmosphere here in A.C. is in an another evolution.. the move of the Revel/10 /Ocean is going to change in the near future, lets hope the new infusion of cash and energy can promote some settling of this limited market for poker players. Summer crowds will help but that's months away, there might be a culling of amenities for the property that's not so profitable. There is still a few houses offering poker live money games as well as tournies. 70 K doesn't seem like an enough to make a shockwave but a curry buffet might appeal the poker grinder.

Had docks happy hour today for early dinner. Highly recommended. There is a smaller bar upstairs that is not as loud as the bottom floor. Super good. The 8.50 mussels in red sauce was amazing and sick value.

I haven't been to AC in ages and am going this weekend.

What is the best restaurant to use your Diamond Celebration dinner? Obv a TR casino.

Any other good restaurants to check out?

Is using the Diamond Lounge a place one would go fo dinner? Last time I was there they had shrimp, clams, pasta, prime rib, etc and it was decent. Is it anything like that now? Caesars was nicer than Harrahs but I never made it to Ballys.

How does the Hard Rock upper tier lounge compare? I get a free entry there for the tier match.

What is the best way to maximize my Diamond card in AC for the last weekend I'll have it?

Can I just tier match at the other casinos and get their higher tier card for the next year?

Which casinos do the tier match/are worth it? I'm going to be doing Hard Rock and Borgata. Any others?

You may be able to use
Your tier match at
Hard Rock to get
A free entry into
The buffet, which is
Quite good!

Better would be to
Get your tier match
At #TheOceanAC where
they have poker and
Many excellent food
Options, see the thread for
@theoceanAC

Planning a trip up to AC for the opening Friday of the NCAA tourney game. Thoughts on the best sports book/casino to watch the games? I’ve been to the borgata sports book and enjoy it but a couple others were suggesting the Trop/a Dam Good Sports Bar. Any/all feedback is appreciated.
