Yes, that non-casino space was basically not used. Anywhere along that walk from the parking garage to the escalator or closer to the beach side would be faster to get to and closer to the casino.

The escalator to the theater and poker room was pretty close to the casino, but not right next to it. There was a decent-size area in between where they had the agents that gave out the various give-aways, meal vouchers, and handled other miscellaneous stuff.

Generally, there was so much space on the casino floor level that they never filled that it made no sense to tuck away the poker room out of sight upstairs other than they were optimistic they would fill more of the dead areas with retailers and more restaurants.

However, things might change so much that none of these details will apply. I heard they were even contemplating spending the tens of millions it would take to redo the layout of the place so the casino is at or near the boardwalk level rather than having to take the long, slow escalator ride from hell to get up to it. Probably not likely since it doesn't look like they've started anything like that yet and are planning to open in May.

Hello to all....If anyone has any questions about Revels past layout, poker room or possible alternatives, feel free to ask. I can honestly say that I was one of a few people fortunate to know the entire layout of the property. Having covered shifts as the properties MOD on days off gave me the opportunity to learn every inch of the property and the availability of usable space. It really is amazing what is inside that property behind the walls... from the other unfinished "Social" style Night Club behind Ovation hall to the first few floors of the second hotel tower that was never built and that is level with the roof.

That said, I will not answer any question looking to demean the property in any way as it is still one of my favorite structures that I have ever worked in and one that I have fond memories of. I also do not have any info regarding any changes that the new owners may be looking to make. I can only refer to what was previously there and how it was laid out during my time as the Director of Poker. Hope to hear from you guys on 2+2!!!

Heard a similar "rumor" LOL!

Can't imagine it will be successful. 8 tables? Why even bother?

While we're on the topic of new poker rooms...I've heard conflicting reports. Does anyone know for sure if the Hard Rock will have a poker room? I heard yes...then I heard no...then I heard yes. I would lean towards yes because I believe all the other HR casinos have a poker room. Anyone have any credible intel?

I have been told that hard rocks floor plan submission to the CRDA included a layout for a poker room , so there is that and it came from a very credible source.

Well let's hope it's not 10 handed tables

Ocean Resort Casino's careers page shows listings for poker supervisor and poker dealer, so that confirms they'll have a room. If it does end up having only 8 tables, then apparently they aren't serious about poker. They'll be lucky to keep one table going since only a few random hotel guests will be playing there. Let's hope Hard Rock is planning to have more of a destination poker room.

In general more centralized poker is better for everyone. When there is kust 1 or 2 rooms itll be busier for all. Competition is better for rooms and promos but not poker itself.

I definitely had found this to be true before MGMNH opened 15 minutes from downtown DC. Someday though the DC market will cool off and the overall experience won't be as good as it was when AC was the only legal option between Wheeling, Connecticut, and Florida.

Anyone know if Asian buses still run from Brooklyn or Manhattan to Atlantic City? They usually go to Bally's or Caesar's. If you know the schedule, can you please pm me? Thanks in advance.

The one from the city , you buy the ticket on the corner of division and Bowery (where it meets with Catherine ) . It's 17 or 25 round trip and you get back 50 (25+25) in play. They are super punctual usually but be prepared to get put in the back of the bus.

How does the $25+$25 break down? $25 slot play, $25 food credit?

Oh wow. I've been taking Greyhound for 15 years without even knowing the comps were better on the Chinatown busses. Only 25 on Greyhound. I'll take that match bet anytime.

As long as you understand there are cultural differences when traveling by Chinatown bus

1. White/Spanish/black sit in the back
2. You tip two dollars on the way back
3. Ticket is good for three days and if you are not original ticket it can be a little bit of a hassle as the old people love rushing the door
4. No wifi

For me it's super convenient when I don't drive since i live two blocks from there.
