Casino del Sol in Tucson closed. Seems that Desert Diamond has not made the call yet but assume it's coming.

It's crazy that these casinos are still running tv and radio commercials while they're closed.

CET is opening Ak Chin on Friday.

I guess we'll see if a second wave hits or not. Half the people aren't wearing masks, there isn't really any social distancing going on, it's mostly business as usual.

Is the poker room open?

I didnt see it on bravo, and the stuff I saw about Vegas and Fort McDowell and Harrahs Ak-Chin said poker would not be in the first wave of openings.

Have you heard any word of Talking Stick reopening?

They are saying they are closed through May 31st, so June 1st will be the earliest. I am sure they are keeping a very close eye on what the other casinos are doing.

Little follow-up on my last few posts for those interested.

Talking Stick: As mentioned above, reopening June 1st with poker at 50% capacity. 5 handed tables? Less tables? Not sure.

Gila River WHP has no poker plans in the future even though they opened on Friday.
Poker employees were placed on furlough until Nov. They are currently using their poker room for slots. The poker tables are gone.

No word on poker plans at Ak-Chin or Desert Diamond.

Casino del Sol in Tucson is apparently opening the poker room on the 27th, with 4 handed tables. I doubt they'll get that many takers given most of their regs hate short handed, but who knows.

Most of the regs there are also old as dirt and should be staying at home.

It seems non indian casinos are trending toward 4 handed poker and indian casinos are talking 5,6 or more handed. This is based on a handful of poker rooms opening up in the country. I'm sure there will be less tables. I doubt there will be food service at the tables.

I saw a private casino use wet wipes to clean the chips after every hand.

LOL, that would be pretty ridiculous in a 6/12 hand where you might have 2 or 3 stacks in an average hand.

Maybe they should read the recent CDC statement that catching the rona from surfaces is highly unlikely.

Is there guidance from the Arizona gaming authority wrt poker? Or is it up to an Indian authority? I think all AZ casinos are Indian.

Getting Corona from touching surfaces has always been unlikely. I would think chips being touched by several people over and over again would make it more likely. As long as everybody is washing their hands and not touching their face they'll be good.

I think Tribes will say they are following CDC guidelines. They have more flexibility to do their own thing if they choose.

It's hard to facepalm at how people play without touching your face.

Is this the latest situation with all the casinos?

Talking Stick - Casino is opening on June 1st. Poker is "opening at 50%" per that_pope's inside source
Casino Del Sol - Casino is opening on June 3rd. Poker will be 4 handed with a plexiglass divider between the dealer and the players.

Desert Diamond West - Casino is opening on June 5th. No word on poker.

Wild Horse Pass - No poker for the indefinite future
Fort McDowell - No poker for the indefinite future
Harrah's Ak-chin - No poker for the indefinite future

Looks pretty accurate.

Went to Gila River Lone Butte yesterday to cash in some free play. Only one entrance open, probably less than 1/3 of people had a mask on. Have to lower your mask when entering so they can see your face. No temperature check.

Didn't look closely but didn't see any extra hand sanitizer, but did see one worker going around cleaning empty machines. I walked in with two wipes in my pockets so I could wipe my hands and cards as I used them. Some machines were divided by plexiglass, some had every other shut off.

Didn't make an effort to look at table games. Was in and out in about 15 minutes running my freeplay through video poker and grabbing some drinks and chips to go with my dining credits.

It seems weird that Talking Stick hasn't come out with info regarding safety precautions yet. I've seen casinos all over the US come out with press releases well before opening date, but not here. I'm wondering if there will be a delay.
