Yeah, that never works. You just have to limp, close your eyes and hope no one raises.

I'm 2 for 3 in splash pots the last month.

The first one I limp Jh-5h utg. Of course everybody calls. The flop is K-K-4r. I lead for $25 and everybody folds!

I'm relocating to Phoenix in 8 weeks! If anyone feels like chiming in on tournaments in AZ casinos, please do! I could use a few tips

Can't really vouch for the tournaments as I don't get to play that often, however, you're quite possibly picking the best time to move to Phoenix...middle to end of Sept, good call!

Played at CAZ last night. A few comments. I liked the new room but agree with the feeling that the TVs could be bigger. I didn't realize for a while that there were two boards and missed out on playing 5/10nl as I wasn't aware there was a game. By the time I figured it out (by asking the main board operator), I had already decided to donk up the donkament. The tournament seemed a bit unorganized as the main guy in charge didn't very well keep track of open seats. Example: when my table broke it was basically "follow me and we'll find you an open seat." of course it didn't help that I finished 2 out of the money with 140 runners. Haha.

after the tourney, I almost sat at 8-16 Omaha, but the game looked pretty nitty with at least one house player. Didn't wait too long for a 3/5nl seat as there were still three games at midnight. The 5/10nl game had broken by then.

My second bout with 3/5nl game started off slowly but I finished with a nice win after making some hands late and 4 betting AKs pre to take down a lot of dead money. My favorite hand was flopping the double gut with 65dd on the 842d flop and calling a pot sized bet. I was obv hoping the bettor had an overpaid or a set when the 7d peeled on the turn. He check called. The river was an offsuit three making my hand (7 card straight) still the nuts and now he fired into me and called a nice raise.

(sorry can't edit very well on my phone.....)

overall the action was pretty good and the people were nice. I don't remember any issues with dealers, which is always a good thing.

The one question I had was that a player at my 3/5nl game blatantly took $140 from his stack to buy into the tourney. From a total stack size of 320, that removal seemed pretty dern significant. I asked the dealer If that was allowed after none of the other players seemed to mind. She didn't understand at first and then giggled and said "wow, nobody has asked that in a long time. Yes it's allowed. ". I was shocked as it just isn't right to allow that. Until a person stands up from a game, those chips should remain available for the other players to win.

Overall, I enjoyed my night at CAZ and will definitely return next time I'm in town.

Since my meeting today was on the west side and seeing as I had about 1.5 hrs to kill before my flight, I decided to head down to Vee Quiva and pick up another souvenir $1 chip for my growing collection. My google maps on my phone took me through the back roads of the reservation so I only had about an hour to crush the 3/6 lhe game that was the only game available upon my arrival. I won $56 in less than an hour in that game. I think I should turn pro!! But serioulsly, they were terrible. I don't think I've ever played 3/6 in my life, but it was still surprising how bad they were. Limping utg with k6o and calling three bets with q4o were some of the highlights.

The room was small and the action was even smaller. There was a board for 4/8 Omaha with a total of 0 people on it. Same with the 5/10 lhe. I think there was 1 person on the 4/8 holdem interest list.

If that was my option for live poker , I would have quit the game long ago. No complaints with the room, other than the filthy filthy chips, it just seemed like I was in a second world country.

Ft McDowell has a near free-roll going on Tuesdays with 1 hour of live play. Has anyone played it? Looks to be a good value.

Oh Chilidog, the "house player" you mentioned was an off duty dealer. It's 50:50 that you are much better off having them in the game.

ditto.

I was in the 6 so I assume we were next to each other. Sorry about my set over set but still, me having about 16 bbs must have made it easier.

The Ft is something like 6$ for a tournament with one hour of live play beforehand to qualify. Another 6$ doubles your stack.

I wAsn't involved in any set over sets that day. U must be thinking of someone else. I was in #3 between the Hispanic guy and the long hair ultra tattoo guy. I had a grey shirt and a black hat on. Do you have quaffy black hair and were u friends with the guy in #7?

I had four friends get turned away from a scheduled event because they didn't have the pre-requisite hour of live play.

As I'm an old man now, I'd have had to write them a strongly worded letter about it...

Not sure about quaffy but my hair is short brown and never combed. I thought that game wasn't worth playing. At least not worth it for me until it got full again.

Yes. And I was so excited that for once I would go to class having done part of the reading. Didn't matter though, super boring.

I was sitting in seat 7 at your table (on your left) before I moved to the other table. I had my rush at the other table.
