In another thread I saw these comments:

apparently, donna harris was replaced a week ago by a former shift manager from the venetian. why isn't there a thread discussing this?

I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread on this topic. I wonder what people think of the change.

Also, their Facebook page mentions the lower rake for limit games. Here's a few quotes:

Quote:

The lower rake is a great deal and I wanted to help get the word out. Unfortunately, the 8-16 game had died by the time I got there in the evening, and there were five names on the list when I left. There was also a list for 30-60 but only one name on it. On the other hand, today is only the second day with a $2 rake. It will be interesting to see how much of a difference the lower rake makes with their limit games.

When are you going to release your schedule?
Venetian's is already out.

Make sure you have good room rates as the V's usually suck.

I just spent 2 weeks in Vegas grinding cash games and The Wynn was by far my favorite place to play. The atmosphere was great, cocktail waitresses are always around, and the floor staff was very professional. The food at the Wynn is amazing as well. I'm really addicted to "The Pizza Place". I look forward to playing there again next year!

We are looking forward to our trip to Encore (Wynn), arriving for a weekend trip in a couple weeks.

Tips for someone who hasn't been to the Wynn for more than a few years?

Our current Poker Rate is $119 Weekdays, and $199 Weekends. We require 6 hours of play per day. (The daily tournament counts as 3 hours.)

Wynn I would like to hear how you will compete against Venetian and Aria. They do everything to attract the grinders, and IMO as you seek to grow your popularity I would LOVE TO SEE Wynn Las Vegas promote itself to the CASUAL PLAYERS. Don't make Wynn tournament series where the pro grinders(read nitty players with hoodies that play for a living) move to.

Do everything to attract the casual players, make them feel comfortable, make the room atmosphere fun for all and not serious with a sea of hoodies/headphones/ipads/etc etc.

Of course put in great tournament structures so we all love playing in your events but don't go overboard and make the room a grinders paradise like the Venetian. This approach will also differentiate yourself from the competition.

Lastly I do think your comps in both cash/MTTs need to sometimes exceed your competition, because Wynn's location is not great(far end of the strip) so for a lot of us staying midstrip it's more of a pain to get to Wynn and extra incentive would def. do the job in the future.

Thanks for the info, and for answering our questions on the forum.
BTW, here's one : the daily tournament counts as 3 hours of play, but what about the tourneys during the Wynn Classic ?
Thanks again

Do you see how doing this would defeat the purpose you laid out?

If Wynn was serious about getting rid of the grinders/nits, they'd raise the rake, lower the comps, and add a BBJ. Then people would be furious with them about that instead.

If you play an event during the Wynn Classic , it will count for the hours you need for one night. (6 hrs)

To use your comps you earned in the Poker Room, you need to go to the Poker Room and see the shift manager on duty. The comps are good for food at a variety of restaurants.
