Most of the dealers are pretty good about reminding players, but plenty of players still refuse to mask up. Their "loophole" is that they have a drink or food sitting nearby, so they think that entitles them to go without a mask the whole time they're at the table, and some are bragging about not getting the vaccine. Floor people just laugh about it, and won't enforce it. And tonight, even the poker room supervisor wasn't even wearing his mask (I went to the desk 3 times, and he wasn't wearing it any of those times). I know Aria got fined last year during the first round of restrictions, and I don't doubt that they will again. There are plenty of other poker rooms in town that are adhering to state law, so I guess I'll be taking a break from Aria.
The masks are worthless anyways unless they enforce an n-95 mask. You just have an illusion of safety. WTF are you doing in Vegas anyways if you are worried about covid? Let the people enjoy their life.

I'd be cool for a mask mandate if they actually mandated a N-95 mask, but at this point it's just a face covering, and the whole thing is a circus.

So not worthless. As you said, “It’s just a face covering.” There is a reason my mask-mandated room pre-vaccine never had an outbreak while every one of the (maskless) local home games got shutdown by outbreaks. Sit across from one mirror and sneeze with a mask on then sneeze without one on in front of another. Then look to see what is on each mirror.

Again, if you are worried about covid stay home.

Take the covid/mask talk to the containment thread in CCP.

I'm heading to Vegas in a few days. Can anyone comment on how the 1/2 and 5/5 PLO games at Aria have been lately? Quality of play, wait time, etc.?

I see there is an 11:00 am PLO tournament next Thurs. Two questions:

1) Is it PLO or PLO8? Aria's site says PLO, but Hendon Mob says PLO8.
2) What's the best guess as to what time the tourney finishes?

Never mind my first question - I was reading it wrong.

Anyone have any comment on the duration of the event?

I'm going to be in Vegas for a few months. Will likely be playing plo at Aria regularly. Approx how many hours of poker are required to achieve free parking status?

They might also be status matching if you have a card from another casino operator, like Caesars.

If you haven't done so, get the Bravo Poker app on your phone. It will show how often the 1/2 plo is running. The max buy in is $500, and while I'd say the average is probably about that, the median is much lower, since it's often one or two big stacks. The average buyin is probably about $350.

Is there still a poker rate at Aria? If so, does anyone recall what the requirements are?

From Poker Atlas:

Poker rates for a Deluxe room with one King bed are $159 + $45 resort fee + tax Sunday through Thursday and $199 + $45 resort fee + tax Friday and Saturday. It is an additional $20 for the Deluxe room with two Queen beds.

"After reading online suggestions and speaking to our in room players we believe we’ve fine tuned and come to a happy medium @ARIAPoker
:
$2-5 NL $200 - $1,500 max. Run it twice now permitted!
$5-10 NL $600 - $5000 max.
$10-20 NL $1200 - no max."

The original proposal earlier in the week had 5-10 moving to uncapped but they dialed it back a bit.

200-1500 is an absurd spread.
Also lmao@ raising the max but letting people run it twice. "we want to play bigger- well until you know the money actually goes in".

Same 200-1500 as the Wynn. The casino they've been losing a lot of business to.

Low min buyins don't matter as much in this game anyway. Anybody shortstacking live 2-5 NL sucks, no point in discouraging them.

Sounds like regs pushing for ideas that benefit them. Shocking.

That’s going to seem like a huge, intimidating jump from 1-3 with a $300 max. Yeah they can buy in smaller, but the higher max will bring in some better players and intimidate some weaker players.

The Wynn 1-3 has a $500 max so it makes more sense to have a bigger 2-5 game IMO.

I’m sure one response would be the Bellagio 2-5 is there for players moving up from 1-2 and 1-3.

Aria raised their 2-5 game to 200-1500 max recently and the game seems more reggy and worse already. Could be influx of Wsop grinders as well

Why don't your 5/10nl regs start a 10/20 or 20/40 game instead of calling people pussies for not wanting to straddle in 5/10? Maybe you could have a 5/10/20 game listed and a regular 5/10? I don't mind the straddle, but if you're bullying other people to staddle, which is like always now, smfd.
