Will 20 bucks get me a seat right away? Who do I juice the Floor or the List keeper?

Kat, I'm coming into town August 9-11 and staying at the Aria. What is my best way of getting the poker room rate? Should I just call the hotel and book a room and then have it applied once i get there? Thanks in advance for the help

+ 1 on this.

Also, with the WSOP almost over will the 1-3PLO and the smaller mixed games keep running?

Thanks

I think this question has been answered roughly 234756012347561075607 times now. You book a room the normal way, and have the poker rate applied afterward.

This thread is titled questions for Kat - Aria Poker Room, not questions for eco74 that have been answered already. Rather than scroll through 40 pages of the tread I posted my question for Kat per the thread title. You dont like it...too bad

Hey Kat- Sorry for having to ask you this but, were players in Aria's poker room ever exposed to legionnaires bacteria? And why were players and guests not warned sooner? Are guests and players safe now?

Wow, thin skin. There's a search function that's pretty easy to use. If you don't like people calling you out for not using it...too bad. Happens a lot around here.

No, none of our employees during this time experienced any symptoms whatsoever either. We all found out about this at the same. I have seen and heard nothing of this until yesterday when it was reported.

I just got back from a week at the Aria and it was great. The service everywhere was excellent from the cashiers, maids, waitresses, check in check out people, everyone was very friendly and helpful.

The one exception was Cafe Vetto (spelling?). It took way too long to get seated and served and the food wasn't that good. On the contrary the Thai Restaurant Lemongrass was very good as well as The Buffet.

The poker dealers and floor people were superb! One night a drunk lady poker player started to verbally abuse me (to my inner delight). I did not respond to her and the other players told her to keep quiet but she didn't. What was exceptional is that I did not need to say anything. The dealer called the floor over on her own and the Floor (Ari I think) gently walked her out of the room.

Meeting Shai (one of the dealers) was also a highlight. I asked if he had any good stories from dealing high stakes games and he did not disappoint. This guy is so funny!

Poker wise, I ran bad and there are also way too many great players at 2-5. I won't bore you with the details. There are a lot of droolers playing 1-3 though.

The poker room itself is beautiful. I met barryg1, david sklansky (kind of a weirdo imo), jean-robert, and Oliver Busquet whom I now have a huge man crush on.

I kept looking for Kat but did not see her until I needed my room rate adjusted. She was hiding in the back office. She is very pretty and should come out of her cave more often.

Can someone detail the eating options at Aria using comps.. I've never played there but given $2/hr comps am considering giving it a try as a semi-reg after being a reg at a couple of other Strip casinos during WSOP.. not interested in meals that are expensive or take a long time just cheap foodcourt or quick restaurant meals

Also what are the games like at 2/5 5/10, in terms of quality of players, amount of fish, table selection etc etc compared to Venetian and Bellagio.. thanks

Options for food comps are Skybox, which has burgers, salads, sandwiches etc. and is decent, and Lemongrass, which is a pretty decent Thai restaurant. Chip runners will go and get your meal for you. You can also order from room service which is ******edly slow and overpriced.

2/5 tends to get a better tourists to pro ratio than the other major rooms, so the games are good. 5/10 is good too but you have to deal with me

I've also used my poker comp dollars at Cafe Vettro, which has decent food but extremely slow and poor service.

I've also used them at the buffet, which is quite good, especially if you're just burning comp dollars (don't think I'd recommend paying full price).

Aria buffet is pretty meh compared to other Vegas buffets, IMO. Doesn't mean it's bad, there's just better options.

I wasn't impressed with Aria buffet.. I was shocked they were charging 29 to 35 bucks for Buffet.

Food was meh.... not much variety... typical buffet food (chicken, shrimps, pizza, roast beef etc... ) - nothing special...

Needless to say, I'm not going there again..

Hi Kat

I just received an offer of free upgrade to a corner room suite next time I stay at Aria. Would I be able to get a poker rate for my next reservation, and then take an advantage for a free upgrade to a suite?

Will be in Vegas this wkend would love to play high limit rotation NL/PLO (or PLO only) anywhere 5/10 to 10/25. Is there any chance of this type of game getting off?

I do genuinely think it would be a fun game that would attract more players including those just walking by once it got started. Of course a list could be started at any time but as Kat is on the ground I am wondering if any advance preparation would help.

I would say your chances of getting that game 5/10+ are pretty much zero. You might be able to get a 1/2 or 2/5, but most NL/PLO games start as NLH and convert.

After my first visit to the room this past weekend, I'm very impressed at the feel of the room and the level of service and professionalism provided by all involved. It will be tough to go back to my usual poker room after being at a place where players are treated so well! Keep up the great work and send me some comp offers so I can come back soon!

I hope you either played big in the pits or won big on the slots because I've never gotten a comp offer from them.

Well, except for the promotion they held for the new 8/16 game, which I never got.

Huh, I don't play big in the pits yet I routinely get free or discounted room offers with freeplay or resort credits thrown in. Then again I don't trash Aria on the internet every chance I get either.
