1) I agree with making the games 9-handed. It's so much more comfortable at the table.
2) Get a few smaller food/drink carts to go alone with the big ones you have. Some people (like me) don't like putting their drink on the poker table so it would be nice to have a couple of small carts that don't get in the way as much.
3) Put some more boxes of tissues around the room.
4) The idea of posting games online is excellent, but it would have to be accurate up to the minute, since outdated information would lead to a lot of annoyed customers. And if you could put your name on the list from online, ye gods, that would be super sweet. I don't know if this software even exists, but it should.
5) I'm guessing this is beyond your control, but Skybox should really be open past 10pm.
PokerFink,
Great questions! Here are your answers.
1. Nine handed tables is being discussed with more enthusiasm than before because of the responses in this thread. Our goal is to give the players that play in our room what they want within business reason. The thought of nine handed tables is not out of the realm of possibility. I would like to know what everyone thinks about making 2-5 NLH and up nine handed. I will get with my people and come up with the solution soon.
2. Smaller food and drinks carts is a great idea. We ordered a limited amount of the bigger ones because we wanted to see how they would work in a full room. I believe the carts we have now are not as efficient as we thought they would be. We are going to have to make a change. However, I do not know when the change will be made on this. I have to get with our carpentry crew for this solution.
3. Boxes of tissues. DONE!
4. Huge and innovative! Idea has been thrown around. This will happen at some point. I hope it is with us.
5. Skybox to Go is not out of our control. We are sending them all of their covers. The great thing about this property is everyone works together. We all have a common goal to be the best in the world. I sat down with the Skybox people two weeks ago and let them know they need to be open later and reduce their prices for poker. They agreed and they will now be open until midnight Sunday-Thursday and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. They have also put together a poker menu with reduced pricing. It should be finalized within the week. We set it up to be like value meals. There are also healthy options and soups to choose from.
Hope this helps,
Adam
