heh, they were probably just in shock that I'd actually won money to cash out

Tilts me so much. You can get $15K from a Bellagio cashier in about 30 seconds. $3K at CAZ takes 5 recounts and manager approval lulz. Like, when the 5/10nl game breaks we all have a fair amount of chips, color up for purples and then just cashout just under $3K. It's not like it's a ton of money for that game, you'd think they'd have better people/system.

Oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain. Now that dealers have their own area, it's way way better than at the tents.

Saturday night I did remember to clock out but just as I walked up to the booth the computers died. Of course I was told there was no way they could take my name and clock me out when the system rebooted. So another 9 hours with no comps; oh well, probably don't need to be eating that food anyway.

When this happens I'd talk to a manager esp [name removed] if he's there (nothing personal, other floor ppl). I've had the same happen to me and he's got the authority to write a comp, which he did. I also spoke to him and mentioned that I was going to post something like this and he says he'd be happy to try and help any player that is having problems.

Does anybody know how big the 75/150 limit game is compared to No limit games. Is it similar to 25/50 no limit games in terms of the amount of money at stake?

The big bet divided by 4 is the no limit big blind equivalent.

They aren't equivalent, it's hard to put too much more than $1,500 in a single hand in the 75. My experience is you can win or lose $10k in 3-4 hours.

In the 5/10 spread, you could win/lose $5K or so if you were running hot/terrible in 3 or 4 hours, but that's rare. The $500 cap really allows you to limit your losses when you get coolered badly. (and same for your opponents when you cooler them) So it's not as crazy as a 500bb deep normal nl game.

Sounds similar to what you would win/lose in a 3-4 hour session of 20/40nl

Not sure why I said $1,500, really $1k is probably the most you put into a hand the vast majority of times (6 sb, 4 bb). The difference is in NL you'll have lots of hands where you barely put any money in the pot, in the 75 if you see showdown you are putting a minimum of $500 in.

And you can lose $10k in 2 hours. I proved that last night

other than that is just the dynamic of the game, and that is it actually difficult to get the betting to go past that point...
But, In a fixed limit game, you can get 12 big bets in if you are in for all the raises on all streets.
In a 75/150 game you could have 1800 in an un-straddled hand ( obv add 75 for straddle).

I said hard, not impossible. I've seen guys go 20 bets on the river in a 40-80 game, and no, they weren't chopping. In the 75 you rarely see it capped multiple streets, few are putting in too much excess action.

its just hard to compare sizes of a limit game to a NL game. Limit has more variance for one thing.

My favorite was a guy who stopped at 17 bets with the nut full house despite that they still had @$500 left. Something about the 17th raise convinced him in a way that the 15th, 13th, etc. did not.

I take back what I said about the 3-5 sl. The past two weekend nights have had no shortage of action. Does the impending summer suddenly nail the games as quick as they heated up in the autumn?

Stopped by CAZ for the first time in 3 months last night. 0/1 on remembering to check out.

I was told by a regular that if you "continue" at the kiosk to keep earning comps for your play before 2 hours has passed, this nullifies your play.

So basically, you have to remember to "continue" every 2.5 hours, and remember to check out. Otherwise you lose your massive $.20/hr in comps. Thanks casino arizona!

I was also told that if you play for 8 hours continuously you get a $5 food voucher. But you have to play for 8 hours straight, and cannot stop for a few hours and resume. wtf...

My games usually aren't full, I just sit down and play, and rarely checkin with my card. What's the point?

in fact they should just eliminate the program, probably benefit us and them. How much management time and distraction is going into this program that has minimal benefits for us and them, and how much better could the games be run if management could focus on that?

I'm just not gonna bother with getting CAZ comps 'cause DC gives me drink tix and I usually go out to a decent restaurant or invite my CAZ pals over for supper. Barring all of that, I can usually depend on pope for a drink or three.

I can understand this but it benefits you more than me atm. I noticed on my food comp today that it's charged to the promotional fund, lol, that figures. Also, since my game was short and I didn't want it to break, I asked a floor to get my comp for me and I was watching while he and another manager had to work on it. What a waste of man-hours for them. It's a really poorly thought out program, iyam. Each ticket has to have your name and player number written in by the manager along w/ their signature. At the very least there should be kiosks to print your own.

Epic fail CAZ. Get rid of the dumb food comp. Install those card readers on all the tables and give a simple $X per hour comp that the dealer swipes in and out when you come and go like they do at all decent casinos nowadays.

I'm moving my family down to Scottsdale here in a few months, and up till I read the 2+2 posts about Talking Stick, I was uber excited for the card room. Now I'm a bit sheepish to go in with high expectations.

Hopefully the action is better than the comps. :S

Bldeeney, I just moved down here from MI, I cant complain the action is good the room is run decent. The only problem is comps but if you think about it. In the scheme of things its really not a big deal.. You will enjoy the room.

yea it's a good room, good action, decent food, nice casino, not enough parking (until they finish the lot replacing the tent, I hear).

And Howard, comps are meaningless to me, I play 6 hours a week now, mostly play online where I just donk off cash to Jen Harmon in hopes she'll call me if she ever dumps Marco. It's just sad that management didn't get it right, a good comp program should increase play, esp. in the lower/middle stakes, which is good for everyone. More tables, more choices, more money for CAZ and winning regs.
