Anyone who thinks the actions of a bad 3rd base at a casino with a 6-deck continuous shuffler impact them at all needs medicated.

We all know the cards are blank until exposed to air.

Print it out and take it with you to the table. They don't mind.

While those are suggestions that I might otherwise contemplate, I'm pretty sure she'd consider having the card at the table too "noobish" and be counterproductive to the image she'll want to cultivate.

This would also be counterproductive for her image. It's also not possible... even with a single deck... after 3/4 of it has been dealt.

If someone calls her "third base" while she's sitting at the table, they'll damn sure need medicated.

But do the people who are wasting their life away playing BlackJack at the casino think or know this?

All they know is that the stupid action of that last person took the bust card from the dealer. And they will let you know.

When 3/4 of the deck has been dealt is when the count is most accurate.

It can be argued whether counting can be profitable in CAZ's huge multiple deck blackjack tables, but counting is clearly beneficial if done properly.

I know this.

She won't.

It's moot anyway 'cause she just wants to give the illusion of knowing how to play. After all, it's Daddy's money and I'm just gonna be fuqqed out there by subsidizing the slot queen and the would-be blackjack jedi-master.

You'll be good enuf to remind me to reserve enuf cash to pay for my lodging, right?

Oh, I know they think they know....

Given a game with a continuous shuffler, I just take solace in knowing that if anyone complains that I took the dealer's card when I hit the wrong hand that they're stupider than I am - a rare treat indeed. ...then their complaints warm the thing in my chest that passes for my heart.

If she gives the illusion that she knows how to count, she won't be playing blackjack any more.

If she gives the illusion that she can count out of a continuous shuffler, they'll invite her to headline in place of David Copperfield.

I've played at the new casino, without any continous shuffler. I know they had them at the tent at some tables, so maybe they still have them elsewhere.

And I switched from playing $10 a hand to $200 a hand when the count moved massively in my favor, without any concern or comment by the floor.

I never understood this. They should be least concerned about counting at a $5 table, right? Shouldn't the auto shufflers be on the higher limit tables?

I think the continuous shuffle is just for speed so there is no break in the games.

all of the other tables just have the auto shuffler that will shuffle when the shoe is empty.

maybe the higher limit players prefer to cut the deck.

Most players that play above $5 a hand won't play auto shufflers, but rarely for the right reasons.

Higher limit players don't really care about cutting, but keeping the game going is good, yes. It also serves to assure there won't be any card counting.

I am making my first trip to AZ in 5 years next month and staying at Talking Stick. It's going to be a guy's trip and I am looking for dinner suggestions in area. Also, any suggestions for a good sports bar in the area to watch the NFL playoffs would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Some really good, moderately priced places to eat in the area are 1) Don & Charlie's (Chicago style steak and chophouse) 2) Olive and Ivy (mediterranean) & 3) Stingray Sushi. Good sports bar close to CasAz is Zipps on Via de Ventura and Hayden. Good TVs, wings, and beer. Hope that helps

There is a great sports bar at 90th and via linda one exit north of CAZ, it used to be a Teakwoods, but it's under new ownership with new name, but the menu is still Teakwood's standard excellent. Can't remember name, take 90th exit, go right to first light, left on via linda, first right into Fry's parking lot and take first left into mini-mall lot where it is on corner.

I'm pretty dissapointed here fellas. My daughter is set to arrive on Thursday and I got no blackjack coach for her. Wassup with that?

And I'm good for a fun tic/hour as long as HB gives you the thumbs-up.

I'm willing to learn how to play perfectly before Thursday.

I'm also willing to teach the Wizard's near-optimal strategy to someone who's willing to lower their expectation by about 2 bets per day from optimal. If you can't remember 7 "always" rules, you shouldn't be playing.

The "simple" Wizard strategy, for example, can easily be memorized, and while it costs you 0.000003 units every time you only HIT soft-15 against a 4 instead of doubling, well, as mentioned, it has the ability to be easily memorized.

Quote:
Always:

  1. Hit hard 8 or less.
  2. Stand on hard 17 or more.
  3. Hit on soft 15 or less.
  4. Stand on soft 19 or more.
  5. With 10 or 11, double if you have more than the dealer's up card (treating a dealer ace as 11 points), otherwise hit.
  6. Surrender 16 against 10.
  7. Split eights and aces.
If the player hand does not fit one of the above "always" rules, and the dealer has a 2 to 6 up, then play as follows:

  1. Double on 9.
  2. Stand on hard 12 to 16
  3. Double soft 16 to 18.
  4. Also split 2's, 3's, 6's, 7's, and 9's.
If the player hand does not fit one of the above "always" rules, and the dealer has a 7 to A up, then hit.

I have a feeling that I'm in for a great treat.

I think I'm going to get one circuit around the poker room w/ the young lady and an occasional hand sweat. Lucky me! Plus, I can coach her at BJ but I'll be suffering from 'the bends' the entire time.
