I've always found CAZ's gift give-aways to be of good quality but not necessarily something I wanted: Travel mugs, shirts, caps, fanny packs, etc. However, they once gave away the same logo jacket they sell in the gift shop! Maybe if you call the board they'll let you know.

The free gift is a set of coasters and there are still some left. I was going to turn it down until I saw how very nice they are. I don't know how many are left but if you come in today they're worth asking for.

The 5-10 game just got a little bit better.
Good meeting/playing with you Aaron. See you up in Vegas!

You really think you have to explain variance to a member with 14,000 posts, and who has been gambling for a living for probably at least 8 years? What's next, explaining the bible to the Pope?

I heard there was a new LAG fish who sometimes sits at 5-10 when hes feelin lucky.. too bad you can't stick around longer
Daliman's leaving because he knows I only play for a couple hours at a time and hit and run when I win a big pot.

MBN to only have a biggest losing day of 3500 when you play 5-10 but I guess when you play so nitty you can't really be a big winner or loser these days so its pretty safe and conservative..

This post makes me chuckle. I'm not sure if it's the lack of understanding of who Daliman is, the lack of understanding of the 5/10 (spread!) game at CAZ, or the freaky avatar.

He floated the idea of betting 30k getting 2-1 that he could do it, I told him it near impossible by a top player with excellent knowledge of the players in the current game atmosphere, and he proceeded to say he'd like to try it anyways and implore us to put $$$ up vs him. Not to mention the fact that verification would be all kids of logistical nightmares. He has now changed it to wanting 3.5-1 and right of refusal as to who can and can't play in the game, an additional 4 days to grind MTT's on sunday, and an out in case the games don't run enough/run with enough tables to choose from. When I tried explaining the reasons why this was purely verbal masturbation on his part, he just kept talking up his abilities and saying "Put some $$$ up then and let's find out".....

How is the 3/5 game since they raised the buy-ins? Has it killed the 5/10 game?

3/5 is great, and there are a few of the 5/10 guys playing the 3/5 mostly now, but the game still goes just as much as far as I can tell.

That's... weird. I thought the chip denomination rule was only for calls, not initial bets.

Quote:
One Chip Rule

In some cardrooms, the chip denominations and game stakes are
incommensurate. For example, a $3-$6 game might use $1 and $5 chips,
instead of the more sensible $3 chip. The one-chip rule says that using
a large-denomination chip is just a call, even though the chip may be
big enough to cover a raise. If you don't have exact change, it is best
to verbally state your action when throwing that large chip into the
pot. For example, suppose you are playing in a $1-$5 spread-limit game,
the bet is $2 to you, and you have only $5 chips. Silently tossing a $5
chip out means you call the $2 bet. If you want to raise to $4 or $5,
you must say so *before* your chip hits the felt. Whatever your action,
the dealer will make any required change at the end of the betting
round. Don't make change for yourself out of the pot.
