I know you were there, but I lost my chat earlier in the night.

I normally sit w/ 300, but if it gets below 200, I tilt rebuy for 500 BBs.

As soon as I'd heard what details were available (esp no forced entry) I guessed it must be someone he knew but this is worse than anything I'd imagined. Just terrible.

Well, I got tilted also but instead of losing my chat I self-banned for 6 months.

Also, at this point, I'm wondering if there is interest in a 2p2 meet-up at the new CAZ. We can pick a location w/i the casino, say the cigar bar or that huge bar so we'd be able to accommodate many ppl if we get a big turn-out.

Post itt if interested and we can set a date/time.

CIGAR BAR

Now there's a reason I'd go.

(Of course, I'd have a pocket full of my own...and to share.)

I don't smoke, and I know most people, but I would never pass up a chance to hang out with Howard and DC.

And Howard, I was down $500ish, that is why I was tilted, not the $70 or whatever you ended up losing!

I lost ~150. What tilted me was getting knocked out of the $24 Tourney w/ AK v. A3 AI pre, 3 otr. I realized that online is sucking the life out of me: fool around w/ it every night, don't go exercise like I've been meaning to, etc.

Let's see what kind of interest we get and if it's sufficient we can set a date/time in the next week or so.

Question for the regulars:

I was recently on a business trip to AZ, so I played poker one night at CAZ. I loved the room overall, but one thing I couldn't and can't get out of my head. What the hell is that air "freshener" they use? It totally gets stuck in your throat and you taste it all night. Does anyone actually enjoy that smell?

Sorry if this has been addressed previouly, I didn't read all 45 pages.

TW

I'll be in Phx in early December. This thread is sorta convincing me not to play though.

Meh, the last time I ever played a tourney there when we got to the final table everybody yelled 'yay!' and it got chopped. So I said 'What chop?' and got told that's what they do there, they chop the final table. Do they still do that? I almost had a head assplosion.

We could maybe get some info from Fort regs if there were any who post/read here which I doubt.
I consider myself to be a semi-reg at the Fort hitting it 3-4 times a week since we moved here in June. We're almost close enough to see it from our house. I've been desperately trying to keep my winnings in the poker room > my wife's losses over on 'the dark side' playing such wonderful inventions as 3-card poker and let-it-ride. A futile endeavor.

Anyway, when they get to the money (not necessarily the final table) they'll often propose what they call a 'save', where they leave the top 2 or 3 spots unchanged, and take the rest of the places totaled and average it. That's happened in 3 of the 4 tourneys where I've cashed, plus several others that I've observed. I've never seen a proposal for a complete even chop when it got to the FT.

I agree with what others have said about the promo bonuses tilted against the casual player- there is money to be made in their daily bounty tourneys, but really only if you've put in the 3 hours live. But it's damn tough for most of us working stiffs to get that in on the weekdays. I hate playing in them when I'm only going to collect $5 bounties instead of the $50's, so lately I've only been doing the Sunday evening one after sitting at the 3-6 or 4-8 for 3 hours.

This month though they've switched up their Friday tourney to a $120 buy-in with $50 bounties and no live play required. In this one the bounty money comes out of the buy-in whereas in their other daily bounty tourneys the bounty money is (obviously) coming from the promo pool.

I think you can consider yourself a reg, no semi needed

A buddy of mine who works with them told me a long time ago that the sold off most of the poker tables to some casino, so I assume these are the leftover rejects. I'd snap one up though if it was cheap.

Mark

Edit: I just looked through everything and didn't see the poker tables. (On the proxibid site) Maybe I missed them though. I did see some sweet limos for sale though!

I wonder what sort of qualification they want for slot machine purchases...

The chairs and projectors are nice as well.

Normally I'd have left, having scored on my hit-and-run, but I figured I could miss a few hands and still see if my ticket paid off. I mean, why not cash in on that $2 promotional rake. Anyway, they fan out the cards, and a guy in the 8 seat asks me to pass him one. So I grab two tickets, and notice that one of them is 0-3 and pass the dude in the 8 seat the other one LDO. I post-fold a couple more hands and WHAMMO! $400 in cold-hard-cash.
Lol, I guess I didnt realize how profitable exploiting weak football pool players like daliman could be!

Sounds like ur a great player and a stand up guy palimax!!!!!!

I'd be interested. Move it to PM if you move forward just so it won't get lost in this thread.

I'm really disappointed in the new Casino Arizona, imo the new Gila River hotel is so much nicer.

Don't think you will get much disagreement on that. When I saw the new Gila River, I was exicited for the new CAZ because I was promised even better things. Fail.

Before I start tallying and pm'ing I'd like to continue to use this thread to gauge interest so chime in if interested. I'll give it another week to see if there's enough interest to proceed or I'll simply announce a date/time and see who shows up if we can keep this loose.

In order to take that option please note if a weeknight or weekend night is preferable.
