That seems extremely unlikely. Does the law really say Pot Limit betting is not allowed? Even though it's betting less than what is allowed? More likely that TS just doesn't want to spread slow games where the dealers would have more to keep track of.

It's kind of silly to live in a state with powerful tribal gaming and think that logic somehow applies in these things, even after a long history of pretty clear evidence that it doesn't.

I don't know AZ, but I sure know WA.

i specifically asked if it was because dealers arent trained and or they dont WANT to spread it, or if it was still actually BANNED. They confirmed the latter. I also called lone butte and said the exact same thing that they legally cannot even run a pot limit game.

Would love to be wrong, but i was very clear and specific what i was asking so there wouldn't be confusion.

No. Unless you stretch 'law' to mean the rules the tribes make for themselves.

ive been told by 2 floors at 2 different casinos that pot limit is still banned in az and will not be spread period. would love to be wrong but seems like thats the case until proven otherwise. i specifically asked if it was banned still or if they need to train dealers, both floors were very clear that it was banned still.

The player remained in his seat the entire time and tried to diffuse the situation but the floor person wouldn't let it go and kept up his abuse. I have never seen anything like this before. Was totally uncalled for and way overboard. This sort of behavior should not be tolerated.
Played yesterday and watched the football games. Dealer said something about wearing the mask to the guy next to me WHILE HE WAS EATING! I don't like to eat at the table but it seemed extreme with the plexiglass still in use. The same player did say he won $4500 the night before playing 2/3 NL, partied all night and was back at it with little or no sleep.

Switched to 8/16 OE which is 7 hands of O/8 then 7 hands of stud hi/lo. Most miserable bunch of old fogies I've ever played with. I'm 64 and was the youngest guy at the table. Check raised one codger, Catfish, with the nut boat and he folded by throwing his cards at the dealer. In for $300 out for $780 by betting the river from late position, everyone would fold like 90% of the time.

Ask them where you can look up the law.

Contact the tribal gaming commission. They should be able to confirm with you whether or not pot limit games are legal under the rules and tell you specifically where in the statue that it says so.

Saw the most hilarious **** at 2/3 today. Guy whose been over betting flops a ton bets $240 into a $100 ish pot with flopped two pair 10 8. The pre flop raiser gets it all in for maybe $200 more with jacks as an over pair and counterfeits his two pair on the river.

Our overbetting guy gets up starts berating him how he shouldn’t have called…the caller gets up and starts talking back and putting him in his place…the first guy didn’t know what to do and goes “well **** you shorty!” And walks off lmaooooo

followed up with another floor at TS.

PLO is in fact allowed in arizona, they are awaiting training their dealers to spread it but have no ETA on when that will happen/when they will start allowing it to be spread. They stated it will NOT happen until the room is moved into the tents at the very least. Well i guess thats better then what i thought the situation is but prob still a long ways away to be able to play the game i love in az.

Exactly what I figured.

I must have missed something though, why are they planning to move poker back to tents? Is the casino being renovated / expanded already?

I wonder if you could make/there already exists a simple iPad app to calculate a pot sized raise. Would be annoying because you have to put every bet/raise, but at least you wouldn't have to do math.

I was in the Arena on Friday night, there were probably 40 tables going between cash and the nightly tourney. Still masks and plexiglass, pretty mind blowing they put the plexiglass back up...

So I guess they are still hopeful to get a sports betting license? The sportsbook at Wild Horse Pass is pretty nice.

Any word on when they might drop the plexiglass and masks? I know a lot of places have started lifting mandates.

Side note grunch: the seats at talking stick are the most uncomfortable seats in a poker room I've ever sat in by an astonishing degree.

Mask mandate gone. Plexi should be coming down next day or two.

No, the room will be temporarily moved to a tent (similar to how the entire casino used to be) sometime in 2022 while the poker room is remodeled and expanded.

The original plan was for adding a sports book but I’m not sure how that will change given the tribe was not awarded a sports book license.

There is proposed legislation to amend the law so that all tribes can have a license rather than the current cap of ten tribal licenses (all of which are now taken). So maybe they’re banking on that.

How did the biggest casino in the state not wind up with one of 10 licenses?
