I heard a rumor the time charge for the time games is increasing from $7/half hour to $8/half hour, starting in February.

Bah, I should have offered my proposal to them.

I thought it would be easier and quicker if they did $5 time at :30 and $10 time on the hour since 80% of the time games are red chip games. But that would be a slight increase over the current $7 half hour.

And as an added benefit, it would get the nits out of there in under an hour. They would sit for the $5 and leave for the $10. And if you always showed up near an hour, you could likely get in quicker.

casino too smart even though they are dumb, to fall for that as they will know the shorter games will break when the higher time charge comes due. they break often enough on the time charge as it is. or at least players jumping ship.

There’s more that goes into starting a new game than how many players are on the board. That being said, most of the dealers and some of the floor are afraid to question specific board people. Really a wierd dynamic.

Above my current pay grade. I’m actually in favor of always starting a new game and letting players play what they came to play.

Breaking other games (aka how many of those players are in other games) This is a larger impact in high limit games where the player pool overlaps quite drastically.
Dealer change
Promotions (mainly football numbers, need all open seats filled before starting to pass out tickets, don't sell open seats until after all tickets collected)

The effect on other games. There is value to having a list and keeping the other games full (of course this can be done with a must move game ... But must moves have other issues). Also the staff may know things about the list that aren't apparent to you such as the fact that a player on the list may be waiting for a different preferred game and likely will be called for his preferred game soon. Also they may have information that certain players in the game already are planning on leaving shortly

By around 8:00 there were 13 people on the list. They still didn't call the list. I finally went up to floor person and asked him if they would call the game. He gave me a disgusted look like i was bothering him and looks up at the board and said there weren't that many people on the list. I told him there were close to 15 people on the list. After arguing with me he radioed the front desk and they called the list and we started a game within 5 minutes. Players shouldn't have to do the job the floor persons are paid to do. This is not an isolated incident and is something i have seen happen on many occasions.
That particular game cools off rather suddenly when there are three short handed games, spaced apart so it takes work to count the empty seats. I doubt that is the actual reason they were slow to call game #3.

Maybe one of the vets might be able to help.

In LV, they started spreading a Weds night 8 game mix tournament at the Orleans. $105 buyin, averaging 60 runners.

I've tossed around the idea of seeing if someone would run HORSE or 8 game tournament down here in AZ. I'm a PLO guy from the midwest and typically sit 4-8 hi-lo now that I've relocated out to AZ.

A few thoughts:

- do you think there would be enough interest that something like this could come together and have it be worthwhile? (i.e. prize pool big enough, enough runners)

- I would imagine The Stick wouldn't spread this, but would Wild Horse or Ft Mcdowell run it?

- Would having it at another venue cap it's potential?

Not expecting exact answers, but would love to try and gauge if something like this is possible.

Will be looking to see what sort of turnout Hi-Lo generates this Sunday...

Thanks for your time guys.

Just found out today that they are now adding the total taken out of the pot when determining if a kill has to be posted and I don't like it one bit.

Harder to count? Especially with the $2 already disappeared down the jackpot drop. More explaining of rake to the unaware.

Does that count for timepots at 20/40 superstud?

Playing a hand w/ the leg up always requires some accounting for what you might have to put up blind if you win. With the $6 drop added that threshold gets closer. It's also going to increase the number of kill pots and those don't go off as multi-way as I like.

Mr. Beale; Fake News!! The dealers that are adding the rake to the amount pushed to the player to determine the kill are WRONG.

Isn't it standard to include the rake?

Everywhere I have been you count the pot without deducting rake.
