I agree, it's pretty soft, was just hoping to play a few decent tournaments before the wsop this summer since I play cash 99% of the time. Oh well.

I think the 66 hand is pretty close. 66 is a horrible hand to call off your tournament life with regardless of how wide the range you're up against is, because you are almost always either flipping or crushed. He's getting a good price but it's definitely not a slam dunk imo.

I do think showing the fold is pretty bad though. And I do agree that the tournaments at Talking Stick are generally super soft.

Obviously not playing that again.
thanks for update I quit playing talking stick tournaments about two years ago and glad I did.I thought the new manager would give some good structured tournaments to his players like the venetian does but I guess the lack of competition means he can still get away with the same old trash .Until something changes in arizona the tournament landscape will never change for the better.

sign up on bovada and play, great place to warm up for wsop.Another option take a quick trip and play any aria daily or friday night at orleans .These are much better options to work on your tournament game than anything talking stick has to offer..

Thanks. I have a Bovada account, just haven't played on it in awhile, I'll have to put some money on the site and try some tournaments. Tough to make it up to Vegas very often for a weekend with kids, work, etc.

The good thing is it will help players who aren't in the inner circle be able to see when a high limit game that doesn't regularly go is going.

The only good is does for me is to make sure that I get my $1/hr bec I forget to log out often enough. Other than that it's a pita since I'm going to have to ask the dealer if I'm logged in or not too much.

You never have to ask the dealer if you are logged in; just look at the display on the table and see if the light on your seat is on. When you come back from lobbying, make sure it is still on solid and not flashing.

As a point of order, that will work for the first year, while the units are in good repair. eventually the lights will start going out, and it costs money to fix them, so no one will. then you'll have to start asking to be sure.

but in general you won't bother worrying about it too much. if you're accidentally not logged in or put in the lobby, you can ask a floor to "back you up", and as long as your floors are customer service oriented they will be able to do so most of the time.

I think it will help increase traffic to the room in general. Some people probably check bravo as their primary source of finding games when from out of town or whatever and aren't even aware that Talking Stick exists.

I thought all the Bravo equipment was rented and under maintenance contract. If so, the poker room has no disincentive to have malfunctioning units fixed. There had been two lights out at the table I most regularly sit at Bellagio. I notified the floor person who I believed to be the biggest go-getter (and then again after two weeks, just to be sure). It was around the holidays which was an extra busy period, so he said it might take awhile, but after a month or so they were working again. Not sure exactly what the fix entailed, but I was glad to see it fixed.

The shuffle machine is directly in front of the chip tray, so they put the system in sideways on the side? In front of the shuffle machine and put the flop on top of it? Build all new tables? Any guesses?

This for sure (although I do know TSR exists). I'm in Tucson and if there are games I like running (or with a decent waitlist) I don't mind the drive. But don't do it that often just on the hope games will be going.

You can call the poker room and ask about specific games.

I doubt any poker player is tech enough to have Bravo but not use Google.

Why is this such a big deal to so many players? I don't get it, it's more of a pita than anything else except for the big games and there's only a couple/few of those.

What exactly do you think is a pain? It's easier for players, you don't have to remember to check out when you leave.

That's the good part. But in my case I've got the older man prostate (just you wait your turn) and have to run off fairly often. Then I have to make sure I'm re-clocked in. Plus, even though it might be small, fewer hands get dealt which affects the time game players. The effect for recs is minimal but if you're playing 2,000+hrs/yr it's got to add up.

I may be younger than you, but I probably take more bathroom breaks than anyone I have ever played poker with. At Bellagio they don't clock you out until you miss your blind; hopefully they will do the same there. And after a learning period most dealers can log people in and out without slowing down the game at all.

There are several things they could do to improve the room like add usb ports and instead they will slow the games and reduce our comps with technology that doesn't make sense in a non-competitive market.
