Sounds like it is the rule at TS...I definitely played in an underground game where that was the rule. It could have started as a misunderstanding of the first rule though.

The biggest problem I have with it is when a nitty reg angles a rec player with it..ie

NR: ahh cmon show one card
RP: happily shows an A
NR: tells dealer I want to see both cards!!
RP: wtf no I only showed you one like you asked!
NR/dealer: that's the rule!! Flips over other card..

and now RP is mad and NRs continue to make the games at CAZ miserable

Me either. Maybe a small stakes NL thing?

It's one thing if you show the ace which paired the board. It's another thing if you show the offsuit 5. But in either case, why would you want to stop someone from giving you any free info.

I don't think they can invoke it mid hand but that is actually a rule at TS, anti taunting as DC said. It's been called on me

I've seen it 4-5 times..just think it's one of several stupid rules at CAZ.

It was also my understanding that show one show all meant show your hand to 1 player and you have to show it to all of them. I remember hearing about anti taunting rule before but it is enforced literally never (maybe more so at small games though)
Jon_locke , at your level games i wouldn't expect you guys/gals to call this on each other, you guys taunt each other in much more imaginative effective ways

"Show one show both" is a separate rule, which is in place in only a few rooms.
Yes they are separate rules

As a dealer i will enforce this rule per its "spirit", anti taunting, if a player asks to see one card of another player and that player does show one, then someone asks to see the other per the rule...no dice , ill kill it. He didnt taunt anyone he showed it when asked as a courtesy, take the info you got, but that is it.

No intended to be used while action is pending, to be used after showdown.

My understanding that it is in the TDA rules for tourneys so it is becoming something more common

that's why Desert Cat got in to a game yesterday at 3 without issue.
So Howards original assertion that you may likely need to be there early (on the 29th) stands.
They changed a promo bec of me?

that first post you made on the 6th...i read over the part about 9-4 , i went in at 7 pm on the 7th expecting that the 24 hours of high hand every 15 was going on and it wasn't.
THAT does take place on the 29th and i would get there early, like you said

Hi just curious, why do you want to show one card. Do you play in time games?. Even if you do not, why waist the time of 8 players and a dealer trying to get hands out for tips.

because it wastes 0 seconds to flash the bottom card while folding. Usually i show a card because somebody asked to see it or because they will generally be happy to see they made a good fold.

I will occasionally show a card for a reason that seems good to me: it creates goodwill and the player that you've cultivated that way is much more likely to give action than if he thinks we are dead serious at all times and unwilling to be 'friendly.'

Plus, it takes 0 time, for crying out loud.

Saw a regfish invoke it on man who didn't speak English last night. Thought calling for it was way pricky than showing a card.

My wife has a job offer in the Scottsdale area she's considering so I was wondering about the no limit and PLO games in the area. What kind of limits run there? How often do they run? How soft are the games relative to Vegas/LA games? Do any tournament series pass through there? Is the room connected to the Bravo system? Thanks for the help.

2/3 and 3/5 "NL" go daily. a 5/10 "PLO" goes frequently on weekends. I won't comment on the softness of them compared to Vegas because that is the worst question ever. No tourney series come through. It is not a part of the Bravo system, which if you spent more than 30 seconds trying to research this question you would have already known that. But keep asking softball questions when you don't want to put in any effort answering.

Don't forget friendliest regs in the tri-state area.

Lol, I agree with Pope, this question gets asked every two weeks or so...like read one or two pages before you post and you would find the answer.

2/3 games have been pretty loose last couple times I have played fwiw

Will they ever start making must moves take missed blinds with them? Nothing mitre annoying than the players first up for main game sitting out their blinds do they can get two rounds of free hands. Obviously they are stealing from other players, and make the games worse, especially short handed. So many times the short handed games nearly break because one player sits out a couple rounds waiting to be moved, a couple more players sit out and game grinds to a halt.

That would be a nice change. They've made some decent changes like not having misdeals if a player who is away isn't dealt in.

Here in the Phoenix area during the week for the next few weeks. Would you guys say that Talking Stick has the best weekday nightly tourneys? How many people usually show up?
